That kinda proves his point. Not everybody can do that with a job and kids. Some have to stay home with the kids and some are working early in the morning so they can't do this.
You don't just flip a switch and millions of pieces of hardware appear out of nowhere. You have to source parts and line up contracts with manufacturing facilities. Maybe they are at capacity, or maybe ordering more capacity would cost them more money. In the end, they are trying to make money, not trying to get a console in every person's hand. Just like the SNES Classic has supply and demand, so does all of the SNES Classic parts and Nintendo has to make a decision on where they want to meet that curve and what price point they want to pay for it.
Damn you!!!! I'm starting to doubt whether I get one now since they've yet to hand out tickets and the store opens in 15. Thinking they didn't get a big shipment.Just picked one up at my Target just now. No freaking line lol
It's not that simple. They'd have to reprogram the game's sound code, or implement support for the fake MSU-1 "chip" byuu invented for BSNES which lets it play MP3 files instead of music. The former is a massive amount of hacking and reverse engineering work, and the second would require a lot of storage space and emulator support. That's really lame. They should have used the power of emulation to fix that. Really. Paradoxically, not fixing this thing that was in the original release actually messes with nostalgia somewhat.

Ft Myers here and wife and I both landed one at coconut point Best Buy. Lines at page field were crazy.
Going to have a happy child at Christmas!
Even if they didn't, that's just poor understanding if the marketing and makes them incompetent. So it's one of the other and I don't care which it's just stupid.Lol so there IS a defense force for this. Nothing of what you said makes any sense unless you factor in "they want to manufacture false scarcity." They knew how many they could sell and had more than enough time to manufacture them.
Outside of the one GAFer who said 3 weeks at Walmart, anyone else hear anything about restock timetable?
Is there a bluetooth adapter for this thing? Really don't want my son to play wired, he might yank the cord.

You can buy wireless controllers. Dongle plugs into the controller port.

What's the situation like in the UK? It's out right? Is it impossible to get in-store at the moment?
There is a wireless controller available now (no clue as to how good or not good it is) and 8bitdo is releasing wireless controllers in December. Is there a bluetooth adapter for this thing? Really don't want my son to play wired, he might yank the cord.
Can also get extenders on Amazon. Looks like they're going for 7 bucks for 10 feet. Not bad.

If I had the option of a wireless controller in the 90s for this thing I definitely would have taken it.whatever did we do in the 90s......
Accidentally yank the cord sometimes for sure lol.whatever did we do in the 90s......

I read somewhere said someone 4-5 weeks restock at Walmart.
Out today, pre-orders arrived in post today.
I was out at lunch, saw nothing in Tesco or Game or WH Smith.
A work colleague claimed Asda had stock for click and collect appear today which has now all gone.
A gaffer said their friend got one off a shelf in Smyths at lunch, although their website says out of stock country wide.
I guess it's waiting to see when/where the next batches will turn up.
It absolutely makes sense. Have you never heard of a small startup failing when they blow up and can't meet demand? Or when a kickstarter rockets up into the millions and fails miserably.
Scaling up has non-linear costs. Nintendo likely scaled up as much as they could until cost got prohibitive or capacity was strained. If you don't understand that, then I don't know what to tell you.
Everyone knows Nintendo is like a small start up or kickstarter. This is hilariously sad.It absolutely makes sense. Have you never heard of a small startup failing when they blow up and can't meet demand? Or when a kickstarter rockets up into the millions and fails miserably.

Apparently toys r us is getting a ton. Saw a FB post with photos of 340 units

I bought 2x 6 foot extenders for $8 total the other day.
They are sitting at home, all alone waiting for someone to hook up with.

I'm thinking about blind buying it. It's visually attractive to me and while it doesn't have the nostalgia of the OG controllers, the convenience factor is so much more important. That Hori pad is licensed by Nintendo so I would hope its good. Original one was great.
If this sort of thing is true, then I think Reggie told lies. You do not wait 4-5 weeks for something you want. That still caters to the scalpers.
