Amazon preorders did not ship and are apparently scheduled to ship throughout Oct according to CSR chats. Sold them on Treasure Trucks instead of shipping them...

Damn Amazon did preorders dirty.

Treasure Truck is awesome. Picked up a NES Classic a couple of months from one and now I’m picking up a SNES Classic?

Hell yeah!

Even more awesome is that the one in Dallas is like 5 blocks down from my job so I’ll pick it up when I get off.

If it is anything like the NES, you will be able to drop a patch on it for a button combo reset to home. Hakchi sounds like it is almost certainly going to be patched over.

That’s great news if it happens. I think it hurts the whole package slightly and would probably put you off using save state and rewind as often as you’d like otherwise.

Not that it really matters given the content on the machine...
Is 720p the highest resolution? My TV says that’s what it’s running at and I can’t find an option to change it.

I haven't pre-ordered anything(Canada), but I'm hoping there will still be some left around around 3pm when i go to Best Buy, Walmart or EB Games in the shopping mall where they're all located.

Edit : How long are the controller cables?

stretch your arm out all the way

from your wrist to your elbow.

If you don't have arms, I'm terribly sorry I didn't know.

Sounds like the authentic SNES experience to me

SNES controller cables were at least at least 18" longer (looks like 24" honestly)

So no, it's not authentic.

Yes. It's because 320x240 scales correctly to 1280x720.

Very frustrated that Brickseek shows <10 in stock at several Walmarts and Targets in my area but when I stopped off at a Walmart this morning that supposedly had 8, they said they were all sold out.

Brickseek continues to show that same Walmart slowly dwindling down their number to 5, then 3, etc. for the next several hours.

No idea how they claim they are all sold out but their inventory (according to Brickseek) keeps showing they have a few in stock. Are the employees reserving some for themselves or pulling some shit like that?

This sucks. Still waiting on Amazon with the preorder. I have one for someone else too but now that it's taking so long that other one is gonna get cancelled.

Which is even worse since I paid with Amazon GC.

I've had a bad string of luck with Amazon lately. 2 orders with faulty goods and now this in the last 3 months. Will definitely try to get a credit for this.

Pretty pissed even though a friend bailed me out and got one from Toys R Us for me.

I always feel North Cincy is a HOT area for game enthusiasts. Anytime anything of note hits stores, everywhere gets wiped immediately. This thing is gone. Lol

I'm in Cincy around Norwood for work but I live near West Chester. According to brick seek a few of the Targets still have them in stock but I'm not sure how reliable it is today.

Wouldn't shock me. Already had a co-worker tell me got one from Gamestop today because he has a friend who works there and that friend held it for them after everyone else stopped by to buy up stock in the morning.

Another co-worker knows someone who works at a Walmart who is selling Pennywise Funko Pop that's Walmart exclusive. They have not yet released, meanwhile this person has a case of them that he got from work.

Shady stuff happens.

Hopefully you have better luck than me. I just had a customer service rep continuously use a smiley face to condescend me, and say that he would disconnect in 1 minute. Here's the last string of the conversation, lmao

"Christopher: So in this case
As I mentioned before
Christopher is typing...
Christopher from Amazon.com has left the conversation."

I preordered at Best Buy, should I go now or wait until later? Later would be a lot more convenient for me but I don't know if they're even short on pre-orders or whatever.

On the West Coast for the record, Best Buy doesn't open for another 10 minutes.

You should report that.

LA GAF, you might have a chance of getting one at the Best Buy in Atwater Village. I was able to get one with a ticket # of 145 and they still aren't turning people without a ticket away.

Can't wait to get home and cancel that Amazon pre order. Probably never going to Pre-order there again after their bullshit.

My buddy and I got them off treasure truck in Dallas! So that means I got a 2nd for my wife's co-worker who wanted one for his kids.

decided to hook it up to one of my PC screens instead of my TV. A mix of controller cbles being too small, no real need for snes games on a big tv, and just the convinience of going between browsing and just turning it on to play some Super Metroid at my desk.

Also I can hook up the USB cable to my PC easily.

Yeah, pretty sure its wonky. It has the Walmart in Mason sitting on 27, but they are sold out. Same deal with the Target in Fields Ertel.

So no, it's not authentic.

The NES cables must have been worthless without extensions. I thought the SNES ones would be adequate but they’re still pathetic as well. Very disappointing and a bizarre decision.

Until my extender cables arrive I don’t feel I can really sit back (literally) and enjoy the system properly.

Instantly sold out all around me. I mean, people waiting in line since yesterday. And most stores got around 40 average, which makes it hard to just walk in and get one. And yea, there's more stock than the nes, but probably not much more. I'm sure more people got turned away than those that walked away with one.

This. Reggie full of it, confirmed. Scalpers being allowed to buy more than 1 is the entire reason this hysteria is still going. No way 100 different people walk into one target in a given morning looking for an super Nintendo

They could've shipped 500 to each store and the scalpers would still make sure they are gone by mid day. Until the PATTERN is changed and people are stuck sitting on things they can't sell, every release is going to continue to be like this.

Some noteable games I will be playing for the first time in my life.

Super Metroid
Final Fantasy III (aka 6)
Earthbound
Zelda: a link to the past

I remember being in the opposite position. Being jealous of people that got to experience Chrono Trigger for the first time. I'm that excited now that I'm literally shaking. Did not expect to get one of these at all.

Good luck to everyone else still looking or waiting for that package to arrive!

Stock seems pretty good but demand is high enough that it will likely sell out soon after a store opens if they have any in stock beyond preorders and people lining up.

Just walking in midday to a stack sitting there seems highly unlikely. It's at least a good sign for stock through the holidays, but still will be hard to get.
