I'm disappointed by the length of all the cables. You pretty much need to hook this up to a PC monitor and play it at a desk, or have a couch that's 3-4 feet away from the TV. :/

You do know you don't have to use the HDMI cable and MicroUSB cable that came with it, right?
And that you can buy longer ones on Amazon for like $10?

Am I imagining things or is this emulation better than the Wii?

Like I’m playing with Pixel Perfect and the games feel amazingly smooth. Way better than I ever remember them feeling through emulation or wii (I’ve never played most of them on real hardware)

"I am not bragging but I [random thing] and I felt proud."

What do you want us to say?
Congratulations, good job.

Let's just go back to talking the Snes classic. I think I played most of the games it comes with...at least I recognize them as part of my childhood gaming scene (other than that Star Fox thing). I don't have an urge to play them but I like what Nintendo is doing making proper retro gaming more accessible for the causal gamers (who aren't necessary into emulations and such).

Couldn't get an NES classic but I am super looking forward to this thing being hacked to add other roms.

Forgot how hard it was to pull off moves in street fighter using the controller. Loving how vibrant and amazing the games look on my tv though.

It’s really amazing. These games work so well. I’ve only played most of them through emulation and ever really felt compelled to finish them because of that. This will be the thing that gets me to actually play through SMW, FFVI, Earthbound, LttP, Super Metroid for the first time.

Just got back from EB Games with my beautiful North American SNES (love the PAL/Japanese one too). The design language on the box has a nostalgic hold on me that almost nothing else does.

It's stunning how many great games are on this thing. It's too bad I bought most of these on cart in the last decade because this thing would have packed a wallop when I had distance from the console's library.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to post an update. Last time I posted (yesterday) I said that I was told my Target had about 60 SNES Classic Editions for today. Turns out we had 95. I waited in line for nothing lol. I could have walked up when we opened and got one

What's with the brightness going up in down in some game levels. Mega man X is very noticeable in the first level.

Also the Best Buy I went to had 100 units on hand that weren't pre orders and didn't sell out for about 4 hours. So Nintendo shipped plenty. I'm guessing Nintendo will stock the states pretty heavily with these things.

Well at least with the Wii U Virtual Console emulation tended to be blurier darker, muted look.

Engadget mentions in their review at the 2:00 minute mark with a comparison video shot of Earthbound that shows off the start contrast to the Virtual Console.

Hmm, the audio hiccups came back. Guess I'll have to try the HDMI that came with it..the cord I'm using now is only like two months old. I can't imagine it's that finnicky of a set up where it requires the packed in hdmi..

Hope you'll join us in the SNES Classic Club when we play through those games and any others you're checking out:

Holy crap. I am insanely jealous of you. 4 of those games are in my top-10 games ever list.

Picked up my SNES mini this morning. Thought it would be fairly quiet in the local EB being AFL Grand Final day and all other stores being dead but by the time I left there was a good dozen people lined up.

They also required you to produce your drivers licence before they would give you the order and then required a signature on the receipt. Pretty crazy but hey, the SNES mini is now sitting happily next to its NES mini brother and I'm enjoying the childhood wave of nostalgia. Hearing those Super Mario World tunes while holding that controller takes me straight back to my 10 year old self. Just gotta wait for that hack now to get some good Terranigma and Chrono Trigger play time going!

Target's SNES shipped yesterday, while Walmart's SNES shipped earlier today.
Walmart is shipping via FedEx Ground, while Target is shipping via FedEx SmartPost.
Target's SNES is shipping from a closer location than the Walmart location.
Walmart's SNES is scheduled to arrive on the 5th, while Target's SNES is scheduled to arrive on the 7th.

I'm really not sure which one will arrive first lol.

(the second SNES is either going to be a gift or returned in-store).

So is this considered sacrilege to some people?
As someone who once tried that setup on a real SNES, absolutely. You're missing out on the concave buttons!

I didn’t even bother trying to get one of these. I may try on the next wave.

To cope I’m playing the GBA version of Yoshi’s Island on my 3DS. I’ve never played it before and it’s just delightful. SNES games are the best, and there’s far too many I haven’t played.

How do I change the controls in Star Fox 2? The manual says on the pilot selection screen, which I see, but I've tried every button and nothing changes it.

EDIT: Nevermind I am blind, there is a d-pad icon after all the characters.

Yeah, seriously the stock numbers from launch day seem to be higher than the total number of NES Classics that they made last year. Just be patient, I feel like we can actually believe Reggie this time.

If Nintendo still had their head up their ass about this, they wouldn't have announced that they're making more NES Classics next year.

Yeah, Nintendo was way more prepared for this, some of the stores in my area like Best Buy got like a 100. And then add this doesn't really count the pre-orders. Already Nintendo has told us they are bringing in back the NES Classic, which we found out that the SNES Classic share the same hardware, they have far ramped up production way beyond the NES Classic.

Uh, why can't I do a single special move in street fighter 2 turbo? It's like the diagonals aren't connecting, no hadoken, no dragon punches, nothing.

Anyone else?

I think nintendo just never thought all there systems would sell at this rate. Seems like they are going full force now to get everything they can out.

Why would they? The other comparable systems didn't sell anywhere close to how well these are selling. People like to blame Nintendo based on hindsight.

Looks great on my cheap tv, but washed out on my decent monitor. Then again my ps4 was the same way until I was able to switch the display to RGB full or something. Oh well. Wish there was a work around.

Nope I was hadokening repeatedly when I played. Have you tried both controller's?

Yup tried both, same issue. I cant do any specials at all :(

Edit: figured it out! Playing in pixel perfect mode I can't do any special moves with half circle like hadoken. Back to 4:3 mode and no problem! Back to normal!

How strange that pixel perfect mode can affect controls???

So pissed off. I see the package was delivered. I come home 2 hours later from work, it's not here. The shit on my porch is all disturbed and no FedEx package. It was like my fucking hobby just tracking one of these things down and now I have nothing. Some jerk probably knew what was in the delivery and was scooping them up. Arrrrgh!

Yeah I’m really excited. I first started gaming with the N64 so missed out on the SNES because my parents didn’t buy me a system till I was much older.

I’ve played them in parts and know they’re great but when I’m emulating them though virtual console or my computer but it never felt right. With this system in my living room it feels awesome to play and I want to invest the hours to enjoy these masterpieces

Woke up to an email from Wal-Mart this morning saying my preorder was backordered, but if I check my order status right now it says Shipped and will arrive by 10/6. Hopefully that's right, but who knows anymore.

Yeah stock seems really good, I was able to get my hands on 4 of them today. Before you give me grief, one is for me one for my nephew and two for coworkers which I'm selling to at cost.
