The only thing that differentiates them (besides the port of course) is the type of finish. They aren't completely smooth. The added texture isn't distracting, and it gives slightly better grip and less sweaty-hand feel after marathoning 7 hours today.

I thought i felt a different texture on the back.. It was smoother before i thought but i wasnt sure as super nintendo for me was a long time ago.

Was anyone able to pick one up without showing up hours early before shops opened to get a ticket?

Nowinstock showing no stores having availability.

Thought this was going to be widely available per Reggie?

My nostalgia tinted glasses is now ruined. These 16-bit games play and look worse than I remembered them. :(

Always thought Super Mario Kart was the best version in the series (cuz I beasted when I was younger), but can now see the handling isn't good.

Tons of people based on this thread. Myself included. I showed up 5 min before Best Buy opened, and got one easily.

Reggie delivered as far as I am concerned.

I mean I'm skeptical, but I assumed that if it were more widely available, it wouldn't be on launch.

Welp, my TV just died and my walmart order was backordered...not getting that in anytime soon. I think the world is telling me not to play this dang thing for a while.

If it makes you feel better, I got an email last night saying my Walmart order was backordered, but now it's shipping. You may not have to wait too long!

I personally had one preordered, but I went on a trip with my coworkers to Best Buy about 30 minutes after opening and they were all able to get one. All the stores around here had some for at least the morning, all sold out now though.

These were always going to sell out today. The real question will be around what the replenishment looks like. If every shipment is of this size or close to it, it won't be hard to find one.

I think its fine, I played a cup this morning. But I guess I have played it on and off over the years. I didn't have a SNES as a kid either.

Sometimes you just need to re-adjust to old games, then you start getting into them again. Stick it out and I think it'll get better. What other games do you think don't handle well? I can't think of anything really.

I hope that's true, I will be happy if at some point this year I can just go pick one up at my Best Buy.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to stop by stores until 5:30pm my time and the GameStop, Best Buy, and Target near me were all sold out.

Millennials are hilarious!
Do you know why the manual says to unplug it though? Specifically:

I took the cable that was attached to my switch, it was fine there.

And for kicks I reset it and tried out Kirby, the music is fine. Maybe a hiccup?
Still, if the problem happens with the game again, try the included cable. It's perfect for me.

And about unplugging the system, the manual says to turn it off and unplug to avoid malfunction or data corruption. I don't know how that would happen but yeah.

Couldn't find one at 3 different Wal-Marts today.

Looks like they're all sitting on my local Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist at $225 minimum.

Makes me want to choke a scalping bitch.

A few months ago I bought a new JPN Club Nintendo Super Famicom Wii controller which also works of course. Still prefer the American pads' concave X and Y buttons but the Super Fami buttons are still plenty comfortable and this is a fun option to have, best of both worlds. Just need to get an extension cord now.

My EU SNES classic just landed in the US, got transfered to UPS and I'll have it Wednesday, whoop!

...I also tried to find a US one but no dice, my walmart didn't even get any and Target was already out.

istocknow letting me down. Keeps saying a local target has 73 available right now but it's all lies. Wasted the hour checking first hand.

Does the SNES Classic AC adaptor put out enough wattage/whatever to charge a Switch? Or is it closer to an iPhone charger?

Edit: It does nothing. Lul.

You have to use whatever is the official Switch AC adapter for that because USB-C uses way more wattage to charge the Switch than USB 2.0.

What's the non-Mario/Zelda/Metroid/SF game is everyone playing atm?

I go home in about an hour and I need a recommendation.

The mode 7 stuff is pretty hideous (and always has been imho) but there are lots of great games they don’t date.

Walmart order finally showing as shipped... aaaaaand it's not gonna be here 'til next Friday, after weeks of showing the delivery estimate as today.

Man, Street Fighter 2 Turbo is whopping my ass something fierce.

I forgot how the CPU used to be dang near input reading reactionary, and the moves do massive damage. Used to play this on and off as a kid too no real issues, but I guess it's something your kid gaming skills just got used to messing with the CPU.

Most of these games are tough, my childhood self would laugh at my limp-wristed gaming self now.

I not only saw them in the wild I actually got one so yeah.... They made plenty Imo and I bet in a month they will be on shelves just sitting there.

Star Fox 2 is pretty interesting, I can see how a lot of the later Star Fox games are influenced by it.

I thought the game was a huge step up in frame rate until I got to one of the Walker stages. lol
