lol okay well first of all: no. But second, I didn't say Pilotwings was BETTER, I said its exclusion is more baffling. It's Nintendo's own game. There might be all sorts of weirdo reasons CT isn't on there.

Yeah I have a feeling it was more Square Enix's call than anything else on that.

Have we started posting which games should've/could've been on this collection out of the box yet? Because I have a few ideas, limiting myself to no liscenced (as in a property that a video game company doesn't own like Ninja Turtles or Batman), and no sequels (so Donkey Kong Country 2 is out even though I'd love for it to be here):

1. Actraiser
2. Illusion of Gaia
3. Chrono Trigger
4. Pilotwings
5. Legend of the Mystical Ninja
6. Tetris Attack
7. Sunset Riders
8. Zombies Ate My Neighbors
9. Cybernator / Assault Suits Valken
10. Secret of Evermore

Legend of the Mystical Ninja and Tetris Attack / Panel de Pon are even more puzzling considering they're on the Super Famicom Classic Mini. I get they wanted to limit the number to 20(+1) games, but it would've been nice to be at 30 like the NES Classic.

I was really liking the look of this with the analog sticks, but then I saw the price and release date, so I just got the 8bitdo receiver. I'll probably use the DS4 or the Switch Pro Controller.

Wait what? You can use the Switch Pro Controller with the snes classic? If yes, how?

I just started playing Secret of Mana, wow, how did this great little game pass me by in my youth? Love the opening story (man vs nature/tech is one of my favorite story tropes, how appropriate after just seeing Nausicaa in theaters earlier this week), just got my sword and am exploring the first village. I still have my SoM Nintendo Power from 1993 somewhere.

I loved it. I was sold on the game as like Zelda but bigger and better (where they were not really comparable). Considering i only recently read that it was the result of a troubled development, I didn’t notice anything symptomatic about it. Loved the story, the whole lot.

Very next square game I played was FFVII.

What adapter do you need to buy to use an 8bitdo controller with this thing? I have one and love it, but the only adapters I'm finding are adapters for the original SNES.

It would seem as if the

H A C K B O I S

are doing their thing again.

There. Fixed.

Edit: And a sweet summary of Cluster's stream. Progress!

USB Switch controller can be used in SNES proprietary port?

Yea I'm not familiar with how it works either. I was gonna buy a pro controller for BOTW, but hesitated at the price. But if I can just plug in the pro adapter into the snes and it works perfectly fine I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

The 8bitdo receiver for the NES classic will work with the SNES classic once you update the firmware that was released earlier today.

Hmmm. So mine stopped working. Played fine this morning. I left it on for a while (few hours) and went back to it and can’t get a signal on my TV. It powers on but nothing to the TV. am I boned?

I know what you meant and disagree. CT is the more baffling exclusion by light-years, because its the only exclusion frequently cited as a top 5 SNES game (and often top 1 or 2).

I was going to try the 8bitdo receiver (when I get it) with the Switch Pro Controller bluetooth. I don't know if you can or not.

Ok I see. So, if I buy that 8bitdo adapter, I can plug it into an snes and use my PS4 control? Sorry if I seem confused, I just wanna make sure I'm right before I start buying stuff lol

My amazon.co.uk has been "shipping today" for 3 days now. Should I be worried?

Well, they waited until this morning to tell me that they weren't going to be delivering on time, despite my order being made within minutes of the listing going active, and it already being late. Apparently I can now expect to receive my order on Tuesday.

Have you had any further update fro them yet?

I appreciate the trip down memory lane and the music is surprisingly enjoyable, but I am actually mad at anyone that says Super Mario Kart is better than Mario Kart 64.

I can't with A button to use item and I swear it doesn't work half the time. Actually cost me a race because I wanted to use the mushroom at the finish line and accidentally took my hand off the gas to do so.

Play with half of your thumb on B, you'll be able to use an item without losing speed.

SMK kicks the shit out of MK64 imo. But this was my first MK so no surprise there!

HDMI handshake? Have you tried unplugging and plugging the video cable? I have to do that with my Fire TV occasionally.

Better music, the WHOLE screen is dedicated to the race, controls better, I can hold items out, better draw distance, better level variety, but sure ... Super Mario Kart is "better".

Super Smash TV is one of my most-played games ever.

They never would've made it, but I also love Nobunaga's Ambition and Gemfire.

Can't believe I missed out on FF6 until now, what a great game this seems to be.

Oh god and now I'm realizing I've never played Mario RPG as well, and didn't play Metroid in ages. I will get so many hours out of this.

What can I say, nostalgia is illogical.

Had some great 4 player sessions on 64, don't get me wrong.

Too easy to die like brutually hard

Like almost every Contra it becomes very predictable and once you know what to do and where to be it's not very hard at all. Watch a few playthroughs on Youtube and you'll see. Same with Castlevania IV - not hard at all once it clicks.

Super Ghouls N' Ghosts is WAY more brutal.

I just want to put Shadowrun on this thing, then I'll be set. My most favourite game of all time.

I'm sure I'm the odd one out with some of these, but Earthworm Jim, Killer Instinct, Mortal Kombat 2, and Super Mario All-Stars are at the top of my list, among others.

Yes.... I was waiting for this. Already have the receiver and a Super Famicom controller to go with it.

Tetris is a license they have to pay for, unlike Panel de Pon.

With the ability to save state and rewind time you can basically cheese the fuck out of Contra because the enemies always do the same thing. Super Ghouls and Ghost however <___<

I'm doing save states and rewinds for Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts....you STILL have to be good at the game to progress though. Also, fuck me, I either didn't beat it as a kid or totally forget you have to do a 2nd run.
