I can understand why they did it, but I don't think Bungie should lock powerful gear to only certain activities. If you're doing stuff like adventures or lost sectors for the first time -- ever -- then you should be able to get some really, really good gear. I do those because they're fun, but damn, gimme some rewards!
That's...not what I was getting at. I wasn't talking about -- any -- Adventure or LS. I was talking about individual ones.Nobody does adventures or lost sectors For the first time when you are 265 or higher... you are literally required to do one of both very early in the game.

Question: am I wasting my faction tokens if I'm redeeming but I'm at a level 265 cap atm? I can't seem to get passed 265. Think I'm playing this game wrong

Can anyone explain to me why they like PvP?
... There isn't a single good map in the entire game. There's no matchmaking so if you're a solo player get ready to get fucked by clans/premades rolling in who have the most annoying comps made to be anti-fun to the enemy team.
It's just... How did they go from Halo MP to THIS?
I have to assume their designers all left or just stopped caring.
Should I be farming and turning them in before they are removed?Faction tokens will be removed at the end of this coming week, so you're not "wasting" them per say.
Faction Rewards also seem to drop a tiny bit lower than normal rewards, and significantly lower than Exotics or Luminous Engrams, so no matter what your LL, Faction gear isn't going to progress you.
I'm not sure you can create a Halo like MP with how Destiny is designed, unless you totally separate PvE and PvP.
Each gun have a different TTK and RoF, each weapons are meant to be useful, unlike Halo where you had 1 or 2 go-to basic weapons then you play for power weapon and map control.
Destiny isn't like this, so I'm not sure they ever considered doing something akin to Halo MP.
Should I be farming and turning them in before they are removed?
Last question. Why introduce factions and remove tokens for them the same week?If you want the gear, you should have been farming them all week. By reset of this coming week, you'll no longer be able to farm them. By reset of the week after that, any unspent Faction Tokens will be removed from your inventory.

Lol, I'm not saying they needed to make it like Halo.
I'm saying how did they go from making good FPS PvP to Terrible FPS PvP.
Cause there are people who farmed a massive amount of them and they'd be able to sit on them for future faction events and immediately cash them in making the event pointless.
Ahh. OK. That makes sense. I did not have a good grasp on this stuff at all, I can see now. Much appreciated! It's not the same week. Apologies if I wasn't clear on this.
Faction Rally started this past week. Tuesday, Sept 26th in the US.
Faction Rally ends and Victory Week begins this coming week. Tuesday Oct 3rd, in the US.
Unused Faction Tokens get removed from inventory the week after that. Tuesday Oct 10th, in the US.
So the timeline is 1 week to earn tokens. 2 weeks to turn in (the week you earn them and Victory week).
The reason why they remove the tokens is to prevent people from farming a ton of them now and holding on to them to stack their turn ins whenever the next Faction Rally is. It makes it so the playerbase has to actively play during each Faction Rally event in order to get the rewards.

Cause the more and more I play it (cause of the rewards not the gameplay), it really seems like the place Bungie developers go to when they want to stop trying and just not think about what they're making.
It's more balanced than Destiny 1 but it still feels random and unfair. There isn't a single good map in the entire game. There's no matchmaking so if you're a solo player get ready to get fucked by clans/premades rolling in who have the most annoying comps made to be anti-fun to the enemy team.

I enjoyed it in the first game and I enjoy it now. It takes a lot more thought to choose and set up advantageous engagements, and being in a fire team/party makes a bigger difference than it used to (though facing a 6-person team in D1 could still be formidable).
Like the first game, I like the character movement, shooting, and abilities. So why PvP and not PvE? Ita fun to fight against more capable foes than legionnaires.
My biggest design complaint is people leaving during competitive.
Looking to run a fresh raid starting as soon as we're full. Obviously not a blind raid, and we will be going into the underbelly to get all the chests people may need. It's preferable if you know the encounters to make this run as fast and smooth as possible, but in any case be willing to listen.

Well, until 265, they do give gear that's going to advance you. I think more the problem is that Destiny is built on repeatable content, and some of the best content in the game (Adventures, Lost Sectors) don't have an endgame repeatable equivalent. Make it so there's a daily nightfall Lost Sector that is soloable but doing 7 nets you a piece of Powerful gear.
Now, Lost Sectors become repurposed and you have a daily puzzle room type end-game event. Mix up the type of encounters you see in the Lost Sectors.
Roll Adventures into Ikora's Meditation system, make it a Daily thing, amp up the difficulty and have it be another long-term milestone.
So is this! Yeah, I think that would be a great way to add variety to Flashpoints.I'm not sure I want to accelerate leveling anymore than it already has been, but I love the idea of giving a reason to go back and do that content.
What if the Flashpoints were do 2 public events, 2 lost sectors, and 2 adventures on the given planet? Or you could just say do six total, of any of those.
Waiting around corners waiting for the other person to peak and team-shoot them doesn't really require "more thought" though. It's just boring.
