Mass shooting at the Mandalay Bay Las Vegas; 58 dead, 500+ injured.

I hate the fact that shit like this is almost always guaranteed to happen. Seems like it isn't possible to be ready for mass shootings. All you can do is hope it never happens. Makes me sad.

That page is a breitbart supported Wikipedia alternative. They clearly have a goal in mind.

They want to control the narrative. Even if it ends up not being true the damage is done and all of the twitter bots and right-wing mouthpieces will have already shared it.

If it proves to be completely unrelated the conspiracy theorists will latch on.

I work at Mandalay Bay (at one of the restaurants). We all had to evacuate (employees and customers) to the safe spot area if an emergency ever were to happen during work. 2.5 hours later finally was able to make it home. A lot of the concert goers that were walking back to the hotel were crying and were really shooked up. We were told that that a gun man was loose in the 32rd level of the hotel.

Conversions aren't difficult and they are illegal. You'll find some legal owners with full-autos but those are heavily regulated by the ATF, at least here in Illinois. Wife's uncle had a bunch but he collected them, they were relics that didn't function (old, old, old). He still took regular unannounced visits from the ATF despite them being non-functional. Black market is a different story, though.

RIP to the victims. This is insane.

Have a friend who went over to Vegas just last week with her boyfriend, hope she's okay. Beyond words how bad this is. Hope the injured make a full recovery and RIP to the victims.
 
Horrific stuff. Saw some of those videos and can't begin to imagine how terrifying that must have been. Thoughts go out to everyone in Vegas, stay safe.
 
This will result in all the casinos having TSA-like security. Adapting this sort of thing will be quite an inconvenience to the people who want to vacation there and cost millions.

There will be no gun grabbing.

I can also confirm that legality of such a firearm is also heavily regulated to an extreme in Texas as well. It's nearly impossible.

Country music and the guy - Jason Aldean - was in the news briefly ages ago saying, (as a country and western mega millionaire I might add), that trump has a knack for communicating with poor people.
Other than that he says he stays out of politics and said he wasn't registered to vote, having moved recently. That's the extent of the performers connection to politics.

The woman in the pictures with the guy from Arkansas looks a lot younger and looks nothing like the MariLou police are looking for that they released the photo of. So it seems it is not even that she was or is married to him and just that he is married to somebody with the same name and the internet are getting reckless with their "detective" work again. Especially when that couple have young kids in the pictures with them that are now being spread around.

The other guy is who is registered to the address police broadcast over the scanners. But no guarantee he has anything to do with it either or for that matter MariLou herself.

Edit: Actually there are some pictures of him with her so think the pictures I saw could be his daughter and grandchildren or something. Either way the internet are being reckless.

I agree gun control is much needed in the United States. The west should take a stand against the NRA and pass stricter gun control laws to make it extremely hard for mad motherfuckers like this to get automatic or semi automatic weapons.

At least one of them has to be wrong and at least one person smeared for no reason other than people wanting to be early with the news.

well,there's also the problem of the guns alkready in circulation in the US,without an extended buyback program you are not gonna solve much,the business is just gonna move from shops to private transactions with even less controls

Yep, brings to mind the misidentified Boston bomber guy who was driven to suicide. It's worth remembering that whenever the urge to post internet detective stuff without very strong evidence comes up.

Guns aren't alcohol. They should be fucking hard to get. Even if there are less controls, just making those transactions illegal is a huge step.

There's a 99% chance the weapon in question was illegally obtained and/or modified. The controls on truly automatic weapons are actually incredible and a model framework that actual gun control advocates should be aware of and advocate for. Less than a dozen incidents in close to 100 years.
