This is one of the saddest and most profound tweets I've seen, and its an old one!

Sums America up perfectly :(

This is where I’m at, just numb to it. Without irony, more guns will be their solution.

This seems so strange to me that when something like this happens, the media immediately searches/stalks every corner of every public record to find where the suspect's relatives live -- then camp outside their house to ask them questions. Maybe its just me..

The media is trying to get the answers the public wants, namely the motive of the shooter.

The attacker's brother just spoke to the Daily Mail:

---

"He was just a guy. Something happened, he snapped or something.

Speaking from his home in Orlando, Florida, Eric said: "We know absolutely nothing, this is just, we are dumbfounded."

"We have absolutely no idea. Our condolences go to the victims and all their families."

Eric said that he and Stephen, 64, lived on different coasts - Stephen's last address was in Mesquite, Nevada - and that they did not speak that often.

He said that his mother was 'in shock' and struggling to cope with the news. He said: "Our family is OK, we're sitting in here in our house hoping that everyone doesn't attack us."

"My mother is 90 years old, lives down the street from me, we're just completely dumbfounded. You can imagine how this is affected her."

Sounds like they werent close and didnt speak much

So answers are going to be tough to find

I cant imagine the 64year old dude has some massive social media trail that documented his descent into madness

The efficiency at which he carried out his heinous and cowardly attack is terrifying

If I was there, I would have reacted pretty much in the same way the other law enforcement did.

That's ridiculous. What attitude? That I'm prepared to deal with situations?

You’d probably be in a better position to save lives if you carried around a first aid kit on your person day to day instead of a gun.

Dear God

My father told me the death count was at 50 just an hour or so after I saw it updated to 20. I didn't want to believe him. It just keeps getting worse and worse.

This attack was Bigly

I own some hotels in Vegas ---- very, very big, very successful hotels --- so this hits particularly close to home for me.

I'd like to offer my warmest condolences and most joyous sympathies for the victims of this attack

Trump: Lone wolf attacks the peaceful concert goers in Las Vegas. Terrorist? No, he was White!

For the onlooking eyes, correct, but police and investigators will have carte blanche to raid his house/seize his electronics and question family and friends. This just takes a little bit of time.

Even the media is just recycling that one photo right now as it's all they have to go on/all that's publicly accessible.

Just sad really. I guess there's just no hope for gun control in America.

If we dont see a majority shift towards sanity in this country then no

Our populance is divided and circling the wagons

Our minds are shut down and no one can listen to reason. Its a terrible time

Trump is going to note his business success in Vegas means he knows the town well
He will say we don't know anything about the guy he could be from any side, let's see what happens.
He might suggest that Mandalay Bay and other hotels should catch their security up to the world because the world is a mess.
Then he will say nobody can imagine how big this massacre was, it was the biggest.
Finally he will say the police did an incredible job and saved it from being 10x worse they need to be left to do what they do best.

Was he a Vietnam war vet? This is the only possible thing I can think of to mess someone up so much that some random retiree with no criminal history after 6 decades just go off and butcher a crowd with full-auto weapons.

Always happens after a mass shooting.

I think the gun purchases after shootings was more to do with fear Obama would crack down somehow on guns. There is no chance of that happening with Trump so it will be interesting to see if sales still go up despite no fear of new laws.

Waking up and reading about this has me speechless.

This guy shot at people below him from the 32nd floor of a hotel and managed to kill 60+ people along with injurying hundreds?

This is fucking insane.

Quoting for acuracy

I have to imagine this will be right on the nose

I didn't realise America has no law enforcement to deal with such situations.
There aren't cops all over the place all the time. It sucks for sure.
Everyone thinks they're prepared to deal with situations even if they're not, and interfering often causes a bigger problem.

Also why is the snake in your pic holding the bill of rights hostage lol
I am very prepared. I have been trained very well. The picture basically means I'm holding onto my rights, and the government isn't taking them from me.

That's quite a fantasy you have there. Have you looked into what law enforcement did in this case? The shooter killed himself before you got there. Your handgun would've saved exactly no one
Read my posts for goodness sake. I'm not freakin' saying that I was at the concert with my 45 acp, and would have just charged the guy 1200 yards away, 32 stories up and taken him out. ffs.

Your argument doesn‘t make any sense. You wouldn‘t do shit, as would the great majority of gun owners during those shootings.
You don‘t live in the Wild West anymore.
Yeah, you don't know me at all.

You could respond with a pistol to a high powered automatic rifle 32 stories a above you, and hundreds of meters away?
Ugh. Stop. I never said that at all lol. Read ALL my replies before saying stuff like this. Let's leave it at that.

You'd probably be in a better position to save lives if you carried around a first aid kit on your person day to day instead of a gun.
I do have one in my truck.

..............break...........

Hopefully they are able to find a motive and shed some light on why this man did this.

Don't forget blaming this on Obama or Hillary somehow

Why are Americans so self defeating?

'Nothing can be done about guns'
'Nothing will ever change'
It won't make any difference'

People are dying and you are all still like this.

A lunatic shot up an elementary school and when the president even tried to imply that new restrictions on guns might help people stopped caring about the kids and started getting mad about their freedom.

We aren't self defeating, we've already lost.

Presidents have been assassinated.
Little kids murdered in a school.
Congressmen shot just this year.

At some point reality sets in and you understand that nothing will change.

Holy ****:

Public spaces spontanepusly turning into war zones are as American as apple pie. Like others have said, after Sandy Hook, we accepted these events as the status quo.

Just 16 months since the last historic mass shooting, too.

It's kind of gross to see morning news interviewing people who were there. Like one dude was on who was clearly about to have a breakdown talking about people dying in his arms.

Sounds about right

Well if he actually had a fully automatic gun, he didn't get it legally.

Full auto guns are illegal in America.

Yes they are but that's besides the point... I live in an area where there are a ton of gun shops and if you get in good with some of those guys you can get whatever gun you want. Gun control needs to be tightened to the point where the overall gun culture and market in America starts to go away.

The legality of any given gun is irrelevant. Ammo and guns are plentiful in this country and the culture behind it is a massive good old boys club.
