Our country isn't divided on gun control. The majority approve of sensible gun control and that's bipartisan support. The media, politicians, and groups like the NRA are just allowed to lie regularly about the issue and keep it as partisan an issue as possible so as to keep the money flowing in their fearmongering/war machine. Again, like everything in this country the finger can be pointed at Citizens United as well with how strong the gun lobby is. The American people and their voices aren't being heard on this issue, period.

American gun control at its finest. While this is clearly a tragedy, there is no doubt in my mind that many of the people in the crowd (at a country music festival) are probably advocates of unrestricted firearms access and have either directly or indirectly reaped what they sowed. No one ever deserves to be gunned down in cold blood, but this is America at its essence.

Wtf

CNN: "Why can't we set politics aside?"

They put gun control in to that "politics" category.

Motherfuckers, we need to talk about it sooner or later.

Holy fucking shit, you can't be serious.

People should now die for their beliefs on the second fucking amendment?

I hope you come to realize just how heartless this statement is. Get a hold of yourself.

Think about what you're saying. You're making the connection that most people who want to own guns also want tragedies like this to happen, which is wrong. I may vehemently disagree with these people on this issue, but I know that they're not advocates of violence. These people did not reap anything you mistakenly think they deserved.

Support of guns and lax gun control = deserve to get gunned down? You serious with this bullshit?

So you're not saying that they deserved it, but you're saying that they deserved it.

Gotcha.

Get that shit outta here

Alt-Right and Russian bots spreading literal fake news and trying to spin this are literally terrorists in my book.

It's ironic you say that as I was just thinking how that's going to be dealt with in the future. It's only going to get worse so it stands to reason something eventually have to be attempted to put a stop to it.

Dafuq NBC just brought up the Manchester attack here in the UK and that concert goers were greeted with gunfire when they left the building. Erm no. Get your facts right jesus.

Like clockwork.

Tales from ISIS's ass.

They aren't wrong though, honestly. They could have been more tactful with their approach; but, we need to have conversations about gun control, especially when likely supporters of lax free, easy access to firearms all were killed last night. It's a step in preventing something like this from happening.

The guy I quoted literally said that the people shot dead probably reaped what they sowed.

C'mon

Our country is a joke, just look at our president.

I agree that it's both frustrating and disheartening, but painting in extremes does no one any favors. There's a LOT of good people in this country trying very hard to make positive change amid these tumultuous times.

I think it's important to remember when we feel like America's moral compass is lost.

I don't get how blaming this on ISIS "solves anything" for the conservatives? Doesn't that mean that Republicans can't be racist anymore because it could be a white US citizen that is a terrorist?

I'm not going to quote it again by Hycran that post is just disgusting you really need to think about what you're saying because that was completely vile

Is he really complimenting the police response after 500 people were shot? Don't criticize them for it, but it really couldn't have been much worse.

All this because a centuries old piece of paper that was signed when it took minutes at a time to load a firearm says we have the right to bear arms.

The fuck are we even doing over here?

spot on.

my heart goes out to all the victims and I hope the injured pull through, however nothing will change. This will be a topic for 2-3 weeks, talks of gun control which aagin will be swept uner the rug, if you talk about gun control after a tragedy it "to soon", the conversation will be delayed and swept under a rug. Again if gun control did not come when children were killed, nothing will ever happen. And that makes me sad

This might honestly been the worst comment in the history of neogaf. And that's saying something.
