Came today! So excited!

Bit annoyed the supplier shipped the adapter separately... luckily this thing is USB powered and I just plugged it into my tv and presto!

The controller cable is SHOOOORT though.. I dont even want to imagine the nes mini since i heard thats even shorter!

Australia has the best box. Far less mess all over it like the others.

Managed to get my hands on a Wii pro controller and man that Home button really is a game changer.

I miss the SNES controller tho... Can't wait for the modding

I've heard tell that you can have the Wii controller plugged into the second player port and the home button still works. So you can have the SNES controller as player 1.

im so overwhelmed right now.

I mean i had the snes when it came out, played a bunch of games, but I have only played a handful of the ones on this device! (DKC, SMW, SMK, Megaman X, Street Fighter)
and only limited exposure to Super Metroid and yoshi island.

Beat Star Fox with a 96% average score. Game unexpectedly gave me the feels because I remember where I was and how I felt when I first played this years ago.

My EU one showed up tonight!

It is so tiny! The controllers feel great in my hands though. Can't wait to get started on the game club challenges. I haven't played though SMW for 96 exits in a very very long time.

My SNES arrived today.

This is sooo weeeiiird. The controller feels smaller than I remember but I think that's just because my hands are about double the size lol

the unit is way smaller than I thought it would be!

What are some options to extend the cable length?

Its way too short, I dont know what Nintendo was expecting us to have our faces plastered onto the tv or what

I bought 6' extensions for my nes mini controllers. There are also wireless controllers you can buy.

im pretty confused with saving & the suspend point.

So i just finished 50cc Mario Kart, I clicked reset on the console and brought me back to the main menu, a suspend point showing the title screen of Mario Kart is showing.

Now I know if i click to start the game it'll take me back to my suspend point, but I actually need to click 'save' in order for it to still be there if i shutdown the console?

Good lord Star Fox hasn't aged well at all.....I wanted them to include Stunt Race FX but my nostalgia glasses aren't doing me any favors and I suspect it would be even worse playing it after 20 something years.

I loved Stunt Race FX as a kid, but in my mind it looked like the cover picture.

cool.

Any recommendations?

8btitdo all day!

The 8bitdo SFC30 or SNES30 (same controller, but SFC is the Famicom/European design whereas SNES is the NA SNES) is the best controller to purchase. Nearly identical to the real deal in every way.

Pair that with 8bitdo's retro wireless receiver designed to work with the NES Classic (and now SNES Classic). 8bitdo just released a firmware update on their website for the wireless receiver (it has a USB connection for firmware updates), and it works flawlessly with the SNES Classic. Select+Down to go home is perfect.

If you live in the US and near a Fry's Electronics, they probably carry both the controller and it's wireless dongle.

This is my recommendation as well. You can even open up the snes classic and put the recievers inside. Doing that allows you to keep the front flap closed during gameplay.

thats pretty cool.
Do you charge it or do you need to insert batteries?
How longs the charge?

How? Is there a video or link with instructions?

Not really, I just opened it up and released the controller ports. After that I was able to just plug in the first reciever and fit it between the case and the motherboard on the left hand side. For player two I had to take the casing off the reciver and slide the guts under the motherboard.

It's honestly really easy to do, I have very little skill when it comes to things like this. Just took a look inside and found two places to stick the recivers.

Then you will think Stunt Race FX hasn't aged well either because I think it's even laggier than Star Fox lol!

That said I love Stunt Race FX and intent to put my cart in the Mini as well.

I wonder how many games we'll be able to squeeze through, I expect not to be able to put my whole SNES library so I'll try to stay with the classics.

Can you post a pic of the inside?

How is the 8bitdo's D-pad? I can't decide if I want to get one or go with the Wii Classic Pro controller.

It's passable.

Not awful, but not great either. I'm not sure why the controller is so praised.

Diagonals in particular are very iffy. Supposedly some scotch tape modding inside helps a little.

Depends on how finicky you are about it, I guess.
