Gran Turismo Sport vs Forza Motorsport 7 comparison with the Corvette C7

Really bad comparison as the Forza 7 footage has obvious framerate problems, not ideal at all for a comparison. Frame stepping the video (, on most keyboards) you can see every 2 or 3 or 4 frames the F7 footage remains standing still while GTS has a new unique frame.

Come on, it's PD, why ever think they won't pull through with the visuals.

You can question their sounds, but visuals, oh lordy.

I mean, Forza 7 is out.

Surely someone here could snap a video of Bathurst in the C7 with the correct time of day for a proper comparison? I'd like to see people put their money where their mouth is.

Both games look great, but i've always felt that Forza games looked kinda flat and sterile in comparison to other racers. It's part of the style of the game.

This is PS4 Pro vs a PC at max settings with no substance behind that statement(specs of computer, you can max out a game and depending on your rig not have all of the effects.) ... this is the most non technical comparison i have ever seen.. When they are both fully out and DF gets a real comparison, then a thread would be appropriate.

Man what an edit lol. Good thing others got the original

I've never even seen this guy post before:

But sure, Jan. Whatever you say.

I was speaking about you and select others. Always the same people in the same type of threads acting like they have a personal stake in these consoles and the companies that make them. Bickering like a children on a playground.

By all means respond with sure, Jan again.

lol that edit from ProBusinessgamer is great.

I was about to ask if they botched matching the lighting conditions for the comparison before I opened it up. There it is.
I was under the impression you can’t change times of day in Forza unless you used a consumable? (I’m serious)

GT sounds like a real car driving, especially when it's going over curves and straighten out. That's what always got me with GT, the visuals were one thing, but the sounds were something else. Forza 7 seems to have the same sound for everything.

GT cars up to now sounded like vacume cleaners hth

Left pic is way too oversaturated and looks like from a comic.
Personally I don't like that style.

Also there's the problem with different time of the day and the horrible compression

Edit:

It looks like he recorded Forza 7 at half the resolution and compressed the video way more :D
Times has change.... lol. I remember people saying the same thing with Forza a few years ago.

As someone who favors Forza over GT, I can't deny that I like Sport's look quite better. Forza looks a bit muted color wise and the lighting ain't as good as GT.

Pointless comparison lol not even the same conditions

Plus YouTube? Who made this

Show the textures compared to each other too

I want to see the 4k assets in FM7
Just say your thing, you know. "Xbox one X is a beast" or something.

Forza 7 looks much better on my PC, maybe a weak PC with dynamic settings, based on the frame rate.

Would be awesome if you did us a favor and captured some footage maxed out at the correct time of day. Let's make this a more fair comparison.

Damn ! I knew Gran Turismo had the better lighting but it's crazy how it looks better in this footage.

I always preferred GT's look, it has something that i don't know what it is but it pops more. Not saying Forza looks bad but it definitely doesn't look as good as GT, to me anyway.

there is no doubt in my mind that under the same conditions gran turismo is the better looking game, but that comparison is fucked. why is the forza footage running at less half the frame rate?

The track is Brands Hatch ;)

But yeah, wellwe'rewaiting.gif for the better Forza 7 footage, it sounds like it should be easy based on some comments.

Overall GT is the better looking game. Not seeing the huge chasm in quality but it's instantly noticeable. The time of day seems off though, No? Also we have a thread for these comparisons and this isn't that thread so trolling probably won't be tolerated here like over there. Just an FYI.

GT just looks like a much better game in terms of visuals, the lighting, textures and the IQ is much clearer and less brown compared to Forza.

But in terms of gameplay, Forza 7 actually has some sense of speed and urgency in that gameplay, with the car shaking at higher speeds, it just looks more fun. Compared to GT where that car looks as fast and fun as a corolla.

I've managed to get a much more similar time of day in Forza to compare with (i.e. the shadows on the starting straight cross the entire road) and disabled the shaky cam. While GT still looks better obviously, it's a much more fair comparison and less washed-out looking.

The footage is just rendering now, it's from the maxed out PC version, the video is encoded at 30fps and 1080p but at a high bit rate.

I tried but I can't capture 60fps with OBS and have nothing else installed.

Can provide a Screenshot tho :/

I captured them from a slightly compressed video so there's a bit of artifacts.
Too lazy to do another run and have no time left.

Awful comparison, but it’s Rajman so he probably stole the entire video, or the footage and slapped it together. He stole some of my videos, including a GT vs Forza comparison, back when he had no followers.

Here's a much closer time of day.

I recorded it with Shadowplay and it seems to have done something with the audio EQ, so excuse the fact that it's missing a bit of bass.

4K downsampled to 1080p, encoded at 1080p, 30fps, 25Mbps. Only 30fps but the footage is solid with no stutters from what I can see on a rewatch.
