Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition: Free update arcade mode & more; $40 game+DLC bundle

I’m no game developer, but how the fuck does it take an extra two years to come up with an arcade mode?

I dunno, it’s hard to be enthusiastic about this. I just want them to adjust the pricing for obtainable shit through fight money, and adjust the character models (Ken’s face, the clipping hair, and Chun’s absurdly huge rack).

The again if the arcade story modes finally make ChunxCammy canon, then I’m back in.

The only SF couple that matters.

V-Trigger 2s could be cool, but I was kind of hoping for some more BOLD additions in the way of universal mechanics. Always thought the number of choices players could have to utilize these universal techniques (depending on resources whether Ex or V) could be expanded on BIG time to make things a lot more interesting.

The game needs actual defensive options more than anything else.

I was one of the people that didn't really care about Arcade mode being missing at all from the original release. I even made an entire thread about it and got a lot of flak for it.

Over the time of that thread I did understand where people were coming from, but the main point of the thread was that Arcade mode was an ancient entity and we should ask for more interesting modes, rather than this tacked on mode that's in every fighting game as a poor excuse for single player content.

So with that being said, not only is it nice they've added arcade mode back for the people that want it, but it seems like this is actually a new an interesting take on arcade mode, which is what I wanted and feel like we should be getting at this point as well. So best of both worlds, I'm excited for it. Really seems like they're doing a lot right by this version.

I wouldn't assume anything since it is Capcom after all, even more so if it is just a repackaged of the current "2017 Deluxe Edition".

I would hope its all included on disc - (not codes) - especially since PS4 firmware 5.0 just added support for compilation discs. (Surprised it wasn't there from the start)

Oh yeah, they clearly would have put in Arcade Mode had there been no comments towards it.

Stop being mad lmao.

The way your post was phrased really made it look like you were congratulating yourself for coming up with the more interesting shit they added to arcade.

We already got a canon couple:
Beaten.

We're all gonna pretend there isn't a really vocal defense force?
The game deserves a defense, It isn't perfect and does have issues but it has tons of good things about it to. So yeah it does but it also has a vocal miniority of people that will shit on the game endlessly for no reason.

There's also nothing wrong with having issues with SFV but there's a difference between legit complaints and shitting on things.

This kind of post has always been just as destructive to conversation as obnoxious drive-by posts.

Given how many SFV threads have been derailed by people complaining about the lack of an arcade mode, I'm not going to feel sorry about not having a positive opinion of those people.

Edit: To be clear, I honestly am glad that the people who wanted an arcade mode are getting it, and its inclusion isn't going to hurt the game in any way in regards to what I want it for. I just don't have a high opinion of the people who would never shut up about it, and who kept putting out the effort to crap on what is a fantastic fighting game simply because it didn't have that one mode.

Actually I was busy entertaining myself by reading the posts that said "finally I can buy the game :D" and so on. :P Most of the extra stuff is whatever to me.
I didn't give a damn about arcade mode, I still don't give a damn about arcade mode, and the only thing that excites me about its addition is that maybe all the whiners will finally shut up about it.
I don't get it. If you guys didn't praise the inclusion of Arcade Mode in this thread, then I'm not talking about you, so... why I are you even quoting me here?

I clearly stated what group of people I'm talking about.

Yeah, I agree. "I'm glad arcade mode is in so people can stop whining" is a really selfish take. If you're an SFV player, wouldn't you be happy that people who were on the fence before are now more interested in the game? This seems like the best-case scenario everyone should be happy for. I've been a vocal critic of Capcom for the past few years and this game almost completely killed my interest in SF, but this is a dumb thing to start using as ammunition against other people. Maybe Capcom would have eventually included an arcade mode separately from anyone's demands, but the fact that this was one of the most vocal and repeated criticisms of the game, and finally being addressed, at least generates goodwill and creates the image that fan feedback is working, and the result of that is pretty objectively a good thing for everyone involved.

Flowtron already said that Crimson Viper won't be in Season 3, though I'd imagine that we'll get her eventually.
Do keep in mind that what he basically said was that the only two characters he knows are ready for Season 3 are Sagat and Sakura, and that was months ago. He hasn't done an update in a long time, so who really knows besides Capcom

The only thing that stops me from assuming otherwise is that DLC unlocks are tied to your CFN as well as your PSN account, complicating things greatly (it was a very Capcom thing to do at the time - they were gonna make FM purchasable but changed their minds later on).

Again, it would not surprise me at all if it were just the base game on disc with the latest updates to save on downloading, and then a code for the 2017 Deluxe Edition to get the characters.

I feel very fucked from having bought this around when it was released.

$90 spent and whenever I boot it up there are tons of stages and characters I don't have access to.

Hard lesson learned Capcom.

They won't have access to those stages either. And why not get those characters with FM?

Bruh that's not what I'm even saying lol. I was giving props to Capcom for listening to complaints regardless of the complaints because that's what a company should do. They listened to the Arcade Mode complaints and hit it out the park. As they should.

Fair enough.

Which version did you get? Was it the base game + S1 pass? If so you're in the same position as everyone else who bought the same package as you. Just buy S2 pass to be up to speed. The new package does not include any stages, it's basically a GOTY edition for those who haven't jump in yet, and GOTY editions will always be better value no matter the game.

When you don't have any plans for that mode and are still working on other modes. Not to mention this seems to have bunch of effort put into it with selectable 'routes', bonus stages and endings.

So this is a NEVER coming to xbox?

Honestly surprised there are still people around who don't know, since Capcom and Sony made such a big deal of it. Sony put their own money into the development of this game. Yeah, this is never going on any non-Sony console. PC is closest you're going to get.

He specifically said that Viper, Oro, Necro, and Q aren't coming in season three, so he must know the remaining four. He just hasn't talked about them yet.
Flowtron said:
yeah, however Oro, Viper, Necro and Q won't make it in S3.

Really solid deal for all the content the AC contains. I'll keep my eyes out for a heavy discount on the season passes which should happen in the near future close to release.

Hot take: they will now become the "not like that, too Tate now, and what about this ?" Crowd and still not buy the game.

Because Capcom didn’t want to do it, they designed the game to be multiplayer-only, and only reluctantly added some basic single-player content over time. It’s not due to any difficulty or whatever, just a developer choice of how to allocate development resources. And now, likely due to lackluster sales and to revive the game after two years, they’ve finally gone all-out adding in the single-player content to attract the people who didn’t want a multiplayer-only game (like me).

"God Ono, I know I haven't been the most faithful but I'm praying to you now. Please strike down Lunafreya Nox Fleuret and all these..... these....... INGRID FANS *shudders* for the sake of Street Fighter. For the sake of Fighting Games.

Amen."

Lol, Ingrid will be so cool in this game if they use her dark concept art. Miles more interesting than Neccalli or Akuma *yawn*

It's bad when it's all you do.

For the most part, those people were just working on striking down the misinformation people were spreading in the early days. Because there was A LOT of misinformation going around, and a lot of people trollishly clung to that crap.

Most SFV fans here were quite ready to acknowledge the negatives of the initial release. They were just less forgiving when it came to the lies uninformed people were spouting.

Wait......so if I bought the original game, I get S1 and S2 DLC characters for free or no?

No, you will not. They are not going to give you the DLC for free.
