Gran Turismo Sport demo coming Oct. 9

i dunno... from these gifs it looks too good to be true... i tried the beta and it was underwhelming.... and you know... a beta is almost a finished product.

Beta normally just marks feature complete, so from then on it's usually bug fixing, performance improvement and polishing.

Ahh, right. So you were one of the 'sceptical' ones, I reckon.

I don't take anything game-related personally, nor do I care about GT Sport all that much. I just strongly dislike the overwhelming negativity in gaming, and I'd like GAF to be devoid of it more often.
It's good to dislike negativity, but you're seemingly lumping in criticism with negativity, which I absolutely do not agree with. Without criticism things stay the same or get worse. People criticizing the sound in GT games is what finally resulting in them improving sounds in this game. People criticizing the lack of livery features is what resulted in them adding that in.

There's a big irony here, that your post earlier was one of the most negative things in this thread so far.

I never saw anyone calling it a lazy piece of shit, but what's funny is you're talking like you have some sort of proof that the game turned out super different from the early slides (needs to be a lesson implies that something has happened to counteract the early reactions), when in actuality what they're showing off and saying even now in regards to content it is quite in line with what they showed off in their early slides.

So seems like you're the one that needs to learn a lesson here. Don't take criticisms against the game personally. People are not going to like everything and are going to have negative reactions even if you're hyped for something.

Ehhh, he has a point dude. Some of the shitposters on here, may have been Forza dudes IDK, were fucking lunatics in their rage against this game at certain points.

Now that the game is looking like a beast visually people are tamed and sitting in their cages without throwing anything.

He specifically referred to people talking about the slides as well shown off last year (that laid out how the SP/campaign was going to be), not really the garbage forza fanboys/shitposters just coming into threads and leave with "eww sounds" "eww graphics" "look at those trees LOL". If he had just said "early footage" and left it at that, I wouldn't have said anything as that would've strictly referred to how this game turned out visually.

I've been trying to download this since yesterday after 6 pm PST, and it says it's PS+ exclusive... what the hell?, i thought everyone was going to be able to test it out?

You have the video link to this?

I have never played sport, but up until these demo loops have been posted I agree with you 100%.

I dont know what happened but these latest gifs and vids make it look like an entirely different game, almost like a sequel to sport.

I dont believe them TBH. I feel gameplay with pale in comparison to what we see now.

I will quote this as an I TOLD YOU for tomorrow, or for making myself look stupid if im wrong.

Good criticism is saying what is wrong/can be better with what already is.

Bad criticism (or useless, really) is saying what the game should be doing instead.

All in all, I didn't read a single piece of anything remotely logical on why the game is bad. But then again, that's just, like, my opinion.

OT it. Is. Looking. Flaming.

My take too. Been suckered by GT5 and GT6 GIFs in the past.

But hey, the demo unlocks soon enough, which is great, and damn appreciated.

Just leave it there and a replay will show up eventually.

It will go like this:

- Scapes images.
- Real-time demo - either the lakeside greenery road, wind tunnel, Bugatti clay model, track pit garage or the home environments.
- Scapes images, a loading indicator will appear
- Replay

There is a setting under Options to either keep it he intervals like this (Short), make them longer, or disable the race replays at all.

GT6 looked spectacular though.
So much dithering though, with none of it found in GIFs and replays. I remember one in particular - a bac mono on Bathurst. So clean, so gorgeous, until I played it for myself.

Polyphony is no slouch, and the replays here look stunning, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating. So again, good on them for putting out a demo/trial.

I want to calibrate the settings correctly but...

I'm confused about the peak brightness calibration settings, where it has you looking at a gray and white checkerboard image.

Should I want to scale it so that I can barely/faintly see the checkerboard lines?
It says to focus on the center of the pattern too, which throws me off.

I just have anxiety that I did it wrong -_-

That's going out of your way to discredit my point and my intention. Not sure what your fight is, here.

Criticism is fine, raging at a game that doesn't even have a release date yet is not fine. Also, recalling all that negativity isn't the same as being negative, and it's not even close to being irony.

That's funny ...

This is what you could consider overwhelming negativity, without as much as a reason or an explanation. I mean, it doesn't really matter as it's not relevant in this thread, but really, you're coming in here to tell people they can't have an opinion because you disagree with them?

Great lesson there, you really showed them.

Haha! Great job taking that out of context. You showed me :')

Pointing out something you wrote is going out of my way to discredit you? No. If that wasn't your point, then it wasn't clear. And I'm sorry if I misunderstood, but that's what it came off as. Criticism of the game's visual fidelity had nothing to do with the slides being shown off as those were strictly about the features/content of the game rather than aimed at showing off the visuals of it.
Criticism is fine, raging at a game that doesn't even have a release date yet is not fine.
The game had an announced release date of Nov 2016 at the time the slides were shown off which was a few months away. Also, not sure what posts you would consider criticism and what you would consider raging (and again not sure if you're strictly talking about posts referring to audiovisual aspect or SP content or both)

I downloaded this earlier and it kept saying the network is undergoing maintenance. I live in the U.K.—is it meant to go live at midnight?

Does midnight the 9th means it starts Monday night? That's what I thought at first, but now I'm thinking maybe that means tonight at 12am? Feels like I'm trying to read a parking sign.

I read it as 12am tonight, since 12am tomorrow night will be the 10th.

It's tonight. 10.5 hours from now.

I blame the OP (yes OP I BLAME YOU lol) for putting midnight there when the article actually says 12am. 12am is more clear. Though for absolute clarity/zero doubt I think all places should start using 12:01am to note these kinds of launches.

Yeah, that's why I switched to thinking it's tonight.

Either way, releasing at midnight (3am on the east coast!) is a bizarre decision. How many people who have to work on Monday are going to stay up for that? I don't get the marketing decision behind that.

I'm on fall break from school/work and I'm still not staying up that late. :P

What framerate will this game have? Is this 60fps?

Have the demo running right now, of course, in downsampling mode, but the fps is already struggling for a few seconds some times when the camera goes over a car.

It looks amazing but when they have a "performance mode" on PS4 Pro, i guess it's not locked 60fps?
