Gran Turismo Sport demo coming Oct. 9

The cars have a nice weighty feel to them and the graphics are great in quality mode on the pro.

Car doesn't even look like it's on the ground. Light and weightless. Environments are severely underwhelming

Just had a race in sport mode and it's pretty damn solid. Had a good race, I fucked up (messed up my braking point and followed another guy off the track, rookie error) and finished 6th but it wasn't the wreckfest that a lot of other racing games are online. Most people had a degree of respect for other drivers.

Well, I think it will be mid-70s, but yeah, it will probably be the Destiny of racing games.

Will get trashed by reviewers, but the online aspect will be huge and have quite a large number of regular players.

I'm expecting higher than that. Mid 80s at least.
I think that racing games have suffered for a long time with shit systems and people ruining races (at least on console).
If they actually pull off the online aspect, enforcing rules and grouping drivers based on how they race - it could go a long way. Even more so with the level of polish across the board.

Tried playing arcade mode and damn i don't remember GT AI being this good, it was actually trying to overtake me and bumped into me few times.

I went from having nearly no interest in this game to preordering.

It's excellent. Stupid amounts of polish afforded to every facet of the presentation. This game is a visual masterpiece all round. It feels like Playstation hardware can finally accommodate Kaz's vision. They've gone for quality over quantity and it seems to have payed off. The photo mode is absolutely insane.

Exploring the menus is like playing a damn open world rpg. There's so much to see and cool stuff everywhere you look. The progression system is super satisfying (probably my biggest surprise) and I can see myself becoming addicted with all the desirable rewards on offer and the multitude of ways to unlock them.

Gameplay is as good as ever. Remains to be seen whether the lack of a real campaign mode will hurt. If they add seasonal events shortly after launch I can see myself not caring as much as I initially thought. It will feel short on content, but I know they'll be supporting it with free dlc for years to come.

I feel the same way man. Holy shit is this auto museum awesome. Every facet of this game is polished as fuck.

I went into this with severe reservations. On my Pro and SSD the loads are not too bad at all and the game looks fucking ace. VERY IMPRESSED. They can have my 80 dollars and more from DLC at this point.

Can finally take interior shots with photomode, it's seen a nice upgrade over the PS3 version, lots more options available to tweak.

Good stuff.

is Abload shitting the bed for anybody else? every time I want to upload a USB photomode export, it's keeps crashing some script in firefox / chrome / edge

somebody who uses chase cam has no place in judging racing games.
;)

This game almost demands you NOT use chase cam, and I fucking love it. In Driveclub I could never get comfy with anything but chase cam. But everything here is so much more realistic that I like the hood and in car cams best. Amazing work.

Progression bars in the achievements section with the typical bings and flashes are addictive! You get achievement points for liking other people's photos!

So... I just saw the full cars list.

That's a massive disappointment.

4-5 iterations of 1 car, yikes. I thought we were beyond that.
Might be a game I'll get to once the 'promised' free DLC has dropped.

Full car list

There will be no feature in the full version to buy community build paint jobs right?

I loved this feature in Forza 3 so freaking much that it stucks in my head until today.
How much time I spend with the auction house and trying to buy the craziest most unbelievable paint jobs for different cars. Good f'n times.
That was a time where you have to build everything with in-game logos, no simple picture import there.

Such an easy feature to implement, serious and f'n addicting. Something like this can bind you to the game maybe more than several other features could.

Game feels amazing. The only thing that is really distracting is the pop out in the rear-view mirror but yeah not a major issue.

Anyone still in doubt about the graphics:

Arcade mode - Dragon Trail seaside - 6:30am - Mercedes AMG GT3 - in car view

Sit back and enjoy. It's stunning.

Hahaha same. I didn't realise I had to pit.

When's the best lap to pit? I notice that the 458 that you're chasing at the start of the race ends up pitting on Lap 2, but I seem to have enough fuel an additional lap. While the top 2 drivers have enough fuel for four laps before they have to pit.

You can simply share your paint jobs with other users in GTS. No need to buy them.

Question, my R2 seems broken at the moment (and ibarely use my ps4 so i'm not planning on buying a new one right away)

Can i customise the controls to not use R2 for the gas?

Yeh before you start the first race you can configure whether you use R2, X or the right stick as the accelerator.

Really impressed with the load times so far. Restarts are instant, which was one of my favourite things about DC.

I didn't fiddle around with the controls, but it did have a whole load of control options at the start (including steering with the gyro, if that's your jam). Pretty sure you can customise it whatever way you want.

Looks like the Discover mode is actually working. I’m seeing content from other users — race photos, replays, livery edits etc — for everything except Scapes.
