Dragon Ball FighterZ - Characters, Specials, and Stages Discussion

Beerus' exhibited power in the manga is likely not canon to the anime continuity;
Goku's showcase of Ultra Instinct indeed made a few of the GoDs worried, but the top 4 seemed pretty unimpressed. In Toyotaro's GoD exhibition match, Beerus clearly managed to outspeed them through Ultra Instinct.

What is weird is according to them, both are technically canon, just separate ones, but since the anime comes out first, it is used over the manga

Toriyama's writing for Super amounts to like writing on a napkin. It is very loose with Toei and Toyotaro to fill in everything else, which is why they are different

Has the Manga ever showed or addressed what Whis said in the Anime around episode 90~93

That there is a Mortal in another Universe that's stronger that the God of Destruction of said Universe who also happens to be Stronger than Beerus

It has.

The GoD that's stronger than Beerus,
albeit it was rock, paper, and scissors, is Quitela, the mouse GoD of U4. We don't know who the mortal is yet, but if you look at who's left in the U4 team on the wiki, there's seemingly only three people it could be.

That said, after this special, it'd be very weird for them to introduce someone stronger than Jiren, especially with Whis alluding that Jiren is said mortal. But at the same, Quitela was like the only GoD who wasn't worried about Jiren's immense strength, so...

How does having Ginyu with Guldo make Hit redundant? Their movesets aren’t even the same. Are you trolling bro?

Lol

Ya'll talking about manga vs anime power levels again let me have my fun

Like if you spoiler tagging story stuff in a character discussion topic maaaaaaaaaaaaaybe you might be in the wrong place lol

They both stop time. Hit just can't do it indefinitely I thought.

Hit actually makes use of his ability to it's fullest

He phases through attacks, goes for precision hits, appears out of "nowhere", nerfs the damage on his body, etc.

Saying Guldo makes Hit redundant is like Saying Roshi makes Goku redundant because they both use Kamehameha.

That said, the only GF deserving a spot is Ginyu. Maybe have "Ginyu and the Ginyu Force" as one character

Hit does not stop time. He skips it. He moves forward through time. His opponents can still move during the technique and counter if you can predict it, but is weaker the stronger the opponent is than you

He can also store time he skips and create a separate dimension where he can attack from while the him in the main dimension can not be harmed. Though Goku proved you can break through that dinendional wall

I'm saying their application would be similar in a fighting game.

They'd have to do something unique with it since a lot of the stuff you listed is depicted pretty much the same as teleporting in the show

Ok how does this guy work in a fighting game again??

I thought he just stopped time and they chose to just depict it like The World in Jojo at times (he just teleports) vs showing everything stopped like with Guldo

Imagine that they put Hit in the game and to create the illusion of his powers he makes your controller not work for a second

He could be a counter heavy character, just like he is in the show

Probably just use the visual effects for counter moves, which us how he usuall fights in head on fights

After listening to the Sabat interview and his takes on doing VO for Dragon Ball and his thoughts on (Super character)
Zeno
, I decided to check out some Super clips on Youtube (I don't watch the show, only saw the two movies), and the introductions with him are pretty hilarious.

One of the things that makes it so funny though, is the way they use the large differences in formal Japanese versus casual Japanese, and it has really funny culturally contextual humor imbedded into it in addition to the visual character reaction humor. I wonder if the same is conveyed in the English. But I guess that hasn't aired yet, huh?

Almost there, this weeks episode is Vegeta V Cabba, so we're like, 4 or 5 weeks away from Zenos introduction? I don't remember the u6 arc taking too much longer

On Hit's time skip could Diavolo and King Crimson from the Jojo fighters be a good comparison? It's been awhile since I played those.

kinda. when KC does his thing
only divalo is aware that time is skipping and only he can act in that time frame.
hit goes to another ...time dimension ? and everyone can still move and act during the ability's duration. ..or something..

I think the timeline will go like this

- Ultimate Gohan, Gotenks and Kid Buu will be shown next to round up the Buu Saga
- Popular villains like Nappa, Ginyu, Broly are shown next and then Roshi will be shown because idk when else they'd show him
- Beerus, Hit and Black finish off the reveals with the "Super's titans are here!" tagline

That's 10 left. We'll be good.

That would be perfect. Maybe Dabra makes it in too.

That bit in the GI interview where Chris Sabat talks about the fourth wall breaking, and Yamcha voicing that he's surprised he's doing so well xD Little stuff like that I love.

Yeah, it sounds great! I'm actually interested in this story. Not gonna hype myself up like it's gonna be great, but I'm interested in it, unlike SFV story mode where I literally skipped 95% of the cutscenes, lol.

I feel if we get Vegita it pretty much has to be SSB. I could see him as DLC at some point, but I highly doubt he'll be in the base roster. He probably won't even be in the first batch of DLC.

Yeah I think there's a good chance both are DLC. I like Vegito's chances better than any GT character.

Plus I just really love the way he talks with Goku and Vegeta talking at the same time.

oh ok there's a whole lot more to this
that's insane, they are all owned by Namco. so ASW must of paid Gameinformer to dedicate a multipage article and front page cover of DBFZ in current issue. and what did they do for Xenoverse 1 and 2? maybe a tiny screenshot or tiny paragraph in a page occupied with various other topics. like WTF.

DBFZ is so overrated, so flat, so backwards, and so small compared to the forward thinking and genre innovative Xenoverse games.

Like really, DBFZ is just an overhyped fad. just an object of conservative SF/MVC clone zealots want out of a fighting game.

notice, people complained about Xenoverse games mising characters, and DBFZ is many times WORSE and yet its fans overlook its pathetic roster, among other things.

it doesn't have co-op quests, it doesn't have raids, not a mature HUB.

it's pathetic nintendo miiverse inspired filth is garbage compared to Xenoverse 1 and 2's dignified and high quality HUBs and character models used in the HUB.

Xenoverse 1 and 2 makes DBFZ look like mobile phone junk.

Like really, even Battle of Z is generations beyond DBFZ.

well those DBFZ fanatics can overrate it, but a Xenoverse 3 can easily overshadow and obliterate it for sure!!

I would say Namco and Dimps themselves are at fault, they are too cheap to get GameInformer's support to inform and promote Xenoverse games more indepth.

so ASW went along and got Gameinformer in their pocket for their own game.

it makes no bloody sense for such a shallow content game like DBFZ getting more hype and media attention than the Xenoverse games. ohhh DBFZ is adding some Super characters, so f***ing WHAT! Xenoverse has even more Super characters!! DBFZ is outdated and obsolete.

Where does Dabura fit into this? You know, the red devil who wears a blue jumpsuit and a cape, uses a sword and spits on people to turn them to stone? Otherwise known as the ideal fighting game character? I couldn't help but notice that you neglected to say when he'll be revealed.

Any day now, I'm sure...

Just you wait until Resurrection D. You'll all see!

I knew people liked Xenoverse, but... Seriously? It's not even fun to play mechanically. It's cool to make your favorite characters fight, but it always felt like a glorified "playing with action figures" kind of experience with busted mechanics.

I mean I'm playing XV2 for the first time and having a ton of fun with it but like... lol if you can't see why Fighter Z is getting more coverage than it ever got

M. Bison mixed with Geese. Teleports and counters.
