Can't download the regular game and DLC because i'm stuck with a weird date issue on the base game. Ironically, everything from the deluxe upgrade could be downloaded. Already contacted Sony, but still waiting for their response.

PC2 has more content but also more bugs. I'd go with GT Sport tbh from what I hear it's pretty locked at 60 and there is the Arcade mode to create your own races that you want.

Thanks. I have PC1 and indeed wasn't somehow feeling it and - judging by reviews - PC2 is more of an expansion, rather than actual sequel? I never played any Gran Tourismo games, even though I had PS3 when both 5 and 6 were released.

Since the full game is out now, how do setups work exactly? Is it still only your input or can you load it from somewhere?

I haven't seen anything about importing setup so far (don't have the game, I'm judging by videos and streams), so heading to GTplanet is the best thing to do.
But it would be a nice addition to the Social Area screen, maybe with a filter for the Daily Races

22 different tracks to achieve challenges on, sector and lap.
A huge license section to get golds on
Another challenge section after licenses
Arcade racing in car classes with 3 difficulty slots per race to achieve wins on.

The Arcade racing sounds like the the saving grace here... i need to know more about it. I dont dig "challenges", which seems to make up the rest of it...

Depends, did you actually like the career mode in those or did you just like doing races? You can set up your own custom races now in arcade mode, number of laps, AI difficulty, car class restrictions or multi class, number of opponents etc. there's still a campaign mode that's basically like the license tests and they have some longer race events in it too. Kaz also said there's post launch support to add in more single player race events.

I usually don't go online but this game may change that. I like the way Sport mode sets up the races. Other posters have made some good offline selling points. Even if you never go online GTS is still going to be one hell of a hot lap simulator. I own Assetto Corsa on PC and hot laps are pretty much all I do.

You can do everything except enter online lobbies and sport mode races. You can even set qualification times for Sports mode races if you wish, just not enter the actual race.

There's a weird necessity for you to have an online connection at all times even if you're not entering races, I think it's to help streamline the online mode, but you don't need PS+.

As crazy as it sounds, I would recommend GT Sport more to people wanting a single player experience than an online competitive one. Single player mode has way more to do. Sport mode is three races a day. That's it. Love N200 cars? Better hope it the slot machine lands on a day you have time to game. Hate oval racing? Tough shit, it will be 1/3 of the entire sport mode some days. Spent hours perfecting your setup and lap times on a track with a specific car? You have one day to bank those efforts for rank. A daily cycle made sense for a demo or beta to test as much as possible in a short time span, but for a proper online sport mode, it is such a missed opportunity. How is it possible that GT Prologue still has the best online mode to date in a GT game?

Maybe give Polyphony 5 minutes.

I've seen screens on GTplanet showing championships, including FIA ones (but they all start in Nov)

I had the same problem. Decided against the deluxe. It's just so much fun to earn new stuff in a GT game and it'll surely lessen the experience a bit if you already get started with loads of cars.

I bought the regular edition. All cars can be unlocked by playing the game.

It did say 15GB at first. But I think that may have been the "ready to play" figure.
