Mod Request: Can mods please DELETE my account, not just ban?

Actually NeoGAF users are being targeted for doxxes by GGers it's already happened to some. I want to be able to not worry about it. In addition to that, I use this same username across various parts of the net, and on top of THAT if I leave regardless of what the outcome of these controversial issues, I don't want to be associated with it anymore, for reasons ranging from job opportunities to doxxing issues.
 
What about if you reques a username change and then a ban? Would that work for you? You could change your name to something super generic, and your avatar etc.

Be reasonable.

With the influx of "delete me" requests Gromph is getting you should expect a delayed response. Dude can handle so much at a time.
 
As far as actions to support a cause are concerned, a drive by ban me or delete my account post on a forum not directly associated with an incident on a personal level has got to be at the bottom of the list for useful ways to contribute to anything. Your support to the forum will be zero regardless of wether the account is banned or deleted if you just log off and never come back, but hey, it doesnt give you that dramatic slamming the door fuzzy feeling.

Im looking forward to the end of the threads related to this exodus, but I cant help but want people to just not come here if they dont want to be part of neogaf

It's actually more about influence which this place and most have, trends are big these days and people can't really stop it. They do what they see

Deleting the account is possible with this forum software, but deleting it will reduce statistics. The member count, thread count and reply counts all go down. Most communities don’t want to actually delete the accounts because of that and instead just ban. I would imagine that bans will only be issued because stats are a selling point when it comes to advertising.
 
I emailed support@neogaf.com for the same reason. I understand that they're busy but hope that they get around to it eventually. For a variety of reasons I would rather my account was closed entirely, it's my preferred option when possible. They should probably look into making this a user-facing option if possible.
 
How about you give them more than a couple hours to respond to you then?

If you're worried about being doxxed, you're increasing the chances of that happening right now by calling needless attention to yourself. Go look at Twitter and see all the people screencapping this stuff.
 
To be clear, once again, I am simply trying to get this resolved for practical reasons. I'm sure Evilore and Gromph are trying to handle a lot right now and I'm sure they're going to do their best to do it professionally, it is my hopes that they will deal with my request as a reasonable one and handle it in a reasonable way. Everyone else is going to war for no reason. This is not a theatric gesture, it is a technical request. I just can't keep PMing Gromph and checking my GAF account, I need to move on. I'm seeing people being banned instantly at request through threads they created, so clearly the threads are being given priority over PMs and technical issues, so I figured if I bring my request to their worktable they can handle it expeditiously.


Everyone who clicked on this thread to post about how im an attention seeking crybaby or whatever are literally wasting precious life on this thread. You have put in more drama than I have, and if that's what you are salty about just leave. This thread was for a mod request and the above is why I did it.

Yep, I've run forums over the years and would not grant a request like this. Feel free to leave, but your contribution to the discussions here stays behind. Deleting users will just create holes in threads that will annoy anyone reading them later.

NeoGAF nukes accounts all the time, mostly by request I'm pretty sure. There are posts in threads by no name ghost accounts everywhere. It's why I requested it. They had no problem obliging peoples privacy concerns because they understood the concern, I would imagine it makes even more sense to them now.

The fact that you're still posting, caring about what people think about you on a forum that you're never going to visit again, is puzzling to me.
