If this site becomes notorious for gamergate/alt right activity and in the future an employer googles his online handle and finds he has an account here, it might affect his job prospects.

Yeah, dunno about you, but whenever I'm in an interview I give out my NeoGAF/PSN/Live handle and friend code.

I would also like to know if it is possible to offer an export of our user data, such as our post history. I don't even know if this is a capability of the board software, but given everything that's happening, I think it would be a good gesture.
Many people in art-related industries carry the same handle across their blogs, social media, and forums. It's common to have your social media listed on your contact forms or business cards.
Also someone can google your real name, get your twitter handle, then get your gaf account by googling your twitter handle.

people don't realize how connected everything is. it's very easy to find someone's real name with the tiniest amount of information unless you take real good care to never mix anything and always use different emails and usernames. even then you can find out stuff by other means.

I've been in the job market for 25 years and in that time I've learned how to make sure when I'm looking for a job that I completely disappear off social media.

You guys know that deleting your account doesn't just magically delete your username from gaf search results, right? It could delete everything you yourself have posted and you're still going to show up every time you were ever Quoted. You're here forever.

I was only a member for a few months but I genuinely enjoyed my time here. As a woman this website, OT/community specifically, felt like one of the few places online that was mostly free of the typical misogynist crap and a place that I felt comfortable partaking in. Sadly with all the recent news, as well as the axing of off topic and discussion of important issues regarding women/minorities I can't in good faith both as a woman and a decent person continue to associate with this site and it's owner. Based off of the direction this forum and many of it's posters seem to have taken since the site has come back online it no longer feels like a place I feel comfortable with and is echoing the many sites I take pride in never visiting. With the above said I would also like my account deleted/banned.

Yeah I don't think they can run a big lookup query to drop any record which is made by USER X or includes a quote by someone with reference to same user.
edit: Actually looking at the way the quoting system works here maybe it is possible. But would take ages probably. Not a trivial thing to implement.

No, your account is deleted and all your posts are now made by some ghost account with no name, and most importantly, you no longer have a NeoGAF account which is 99% likely what asshole hackers will use to target people because they want to see NeoGAF stay dead. As for job opportunities, people mentioning my name somewhere is not the same as me being an active poster somewhere. Regardless of how everything pans out, I don't want to be associated with it anymore

I don't really have a strong opinion about it. Facebook is obviously more closely tied to the real person, so having your real name, pictures, etc out there if you don't want them to be could be an issue.
I just don't think messageboards are the same beast. If I was a potential employer of yours and I somehow found out you went by "Kyzer" online, unless I also specifically know you go by Kyzer here at GAF, I'm not going to find anything. I see ancestry boards, a car forum, straight dope messageboard, foxhunters. I have no way of knowing if any of this is you, so I'm getting nowhere if I want to find some red flag in your internet history. A picture of you drunk at a party on Facebook is another matter, but to me posts on gaf are nothing.
