C'mon Ingram, fall to the Packers!

Thompson won't draft a running back in the first, especially when we'll have a healthy and rested Grant (who should be playing for the past month...poor IR decision).

If anything I could see Thompson going after Jacobs in the market. Fits the Charles Woodson mold of once very good and now likely undervalued.

RT, RG are more pressing needs. Draft them every round.

And yes, Ryan Grant playing now makes me weep inside.
Who knows, he could suck after this year.

Maybe, but his loss wasn't a big deal no matter how much we want to pretend it was.

I could see this happening, actually.

Not as much.

Brandon Jackson has 700 yards, about 1000 by committee, Grant is usually around 1200 by himself.
You have to think 3rd downs would be more convertible if we had Grant.

McCarthy still hasn't gotten Jackson the ball in space much which is his strength.

See, there is the difference. Grant's production is mostly replaceable. However his injury affected the coaching staff more profoundly than it had any business doing. I keep going back to Jackson's YPC because they show that the Packers should never have abandoned the run to the extent that they did. Like it or not, he is also a more dynamic threat. Run a fucking screen or draw on first down for once!

I disagree. It was a big deal, because nobody in their right mind is going to bite on PA to Brandon jackson. It's somewhat mitigated by Starks (big and fast), but there's no question that Rodgers' job has been a lot tougher this year with no run threat.

Not sure I see the Pack going after Jacobs, though.

My point is that the run threat was killed by McCarthy, not the personnel. Jackson has been adequate as a running back, the problem is that McCarthy has not worked to his skill set. That's a failure of coaching.

Losing Finley as a threat over the middle has hurt the running game far, far more than Grant. Linebackers can essentially sit home and read run without having to worry about getting beat deep. MLB's ARE biting on play action, there is just no one to come over the middle and hurt em.

I said this a while ago and some packer fan jumped on me saying they needed the space for more defensive players. Lies! I see the acknowledgement! If you guys had Grant, I would call you guys a favorite to win the SB. No Grant, no run game though.

VINDICATION!

At the time it made sense, to be honest. It's be nice to have him now obviously, but who knows what kind of shape he'd be in? Hindsight...

Clearly eznark is infallible and whoever said that is an idiot. No offense to eznark of course...he's giving his opinion just like everyone else here.. noone is right or wrong.

Who knows if Eric Walden becomes a huge part of our success in the post season and he wouldn't have been on the team without grant on IR. He had 3 sacks last game maybe he's that piece we needed opposite clay.

By the way I can say with almost 100 percent certainty that I wasn't that Packer fan who said Grant needed to be on IR so I'm not defending myself. Had Finley not had that infection after surgery I'd argue he might've been able to come back. Think the Grant move Was understandable but I would've held off on Finley unless Thompson was aware of the complications when he made the decision and knew he wouldn't return.

Looking at varius mock drafts, most seem to think Julio goes to St. Louis @ #14. Not my favorite team, but he'll have a good young QB to grow with in Bradford. Ingram, if Miami doesn't get him, sounds like the Patriots. Would not hurt to be a feature back for Brady.

Dareus is all over the place in the top 6 picks, but would have a tinge of irony if he went to Cleveland at #6. Dareus and McCoy on the same team :lol At least Colt would never have to worry about running into #57 again....except for practice :lol

Agreed. They're not playing to his strengths.
A wheel route, flat, anything. It really boggles the mind.

New England (yuck) proved you can pass to run and be very successful.

It's clearly because McCarthy is worried about him getting Rodgers killed, but I want to see more Starks. Or Nance for that matter who is the better blocker than him.
Both have looked better than Jackson and I'm tired of seeing a wasted down by giving Jackson the ball.

If I see the T-form one more goddamn time I'm going to kill someone.

Let's wait until an official announcement is made :lol

Wait...Sparano is getting an extension? What the fuck is going on?!!

Booooo, was enjoying watching FMT degrade mentally into a gelatinous pile of excrement, figuratively speaking.

The Titans are in the market for a QB now due to the release of Vince Young and the advancing age of Kerry Collins (and Rusty Smith having a glaring weakness: being Rusty Smith). May I suggest Taylor Swift:

It's damn near impossible to hire coordinators if the HC only has a year left. Still going to be tough since Sparano's on thin ice, but it'll be easier than it was before.

That'll be in two years when Niner fans are calling for Harbaugh's head on a stick.

I hope Harbaugh can live up to the halo. Pete Carroll and Harbaugh can get a 30 point lead and keep running up the score on each other now.
