Never really understood the fasting side of Ramadan. It's infinitely better for the body to eat in the daytime and then 'fast' from evening meal onwards. God fails again![]()
he he heStop screwing up someone's thread. It's obviously not a discussion of the merits of religion. Adding "no offense", when you went out of your way to discuss something out of topic, is just shitty. It's the equivalent of doing something shitty, then immediately shouting "just a prank bro".
Ramadan mubarak.

First off, Ramadan mubarak. I'm surprised there isn't a thread about Ramadan this year.
We are currently on its 6th day, and it seems to be a shortened month (29 days) this year. I am in the UK, where the fast is approaching 18.5 hours!
I'm guessing it'll depend on each person's culture. My family will make some special food to give out to other people and we'll set aside some of it for ourselves.Do you guys celebrate with special dishes when you break your fast

Same for us too - we make some lovely food and share it others (muslims and non-muslims alike). We also give out presents / gifts / money to children & family (kinda like xmas) to celebrate the occasion.
I don't know how to describe the food but I'll attempt it anyways as I don't have pics.Any specific dishes you guys? Would love too see pics as well
Very nice, a lot of biscuit themed treats it seems. I'd kill a plate of aloo chop rnI don't know how to describe the food but I'll attempt it anyways as I don't have pics.
My parents are getting older so they don't make as much as they used to. They only made 3 things this year in bulk: handesh (a brown, doughy, sugary thing), nuner bora (a yellow, biscuit like, doughy, ginger based thing), and aloo chop (croquets).
In previous years they used to make shemai (a milk based thing with small noodle like things in it).
