I pointed to Candace and Kanye in that as an example....now if you have a chance there is a thread on Reeeeeee about his interview with Jimmy Kimmel.... look at all the names he is called, look at how many 'F Kanye' comments there are.
It is actually disgusting racism and control of the black vote by white middle class liberals. They feel that is their vote, they are entitled to it.

That place is so far gone at this point. And the walking on eggshells Stockholm Syndrome gamers that don't subscribe to the ideology there, need to wake up and have some self respect.

I used the word female at dinner the other week. No one reacted or even seemed to notice. I wasn't asked to leave the table and I wasn't banished from the restaurant forever. It's almost like the 5 billion bizarre rules Reset has don't carry over in real life.

For example: "a group of women" vs "a group of females" which one sounds weird?
"A female coworker" is appropriate where "A woman that is my coworker" would be weird.

Sure, but most I see getting banned are not fucking up the context, lol. Nor should one get warned/banned for it if they accidentally did. It is not a real issue in the pressing world, and would be literally at the bottom of the list of false victimhood status.

It is straight up lunacy to fixate such meaning and identity around said semantical words, especially on the internet with worldwide languages and not every having english as their native tongue.

I'm not saying it's ban worthy, I'm saying that it's weird if you use it like a noun. Of course people who don't know English or are learning it are given a pass, maybe even be explained why it's not correct usage. But Words mean things, and using female as a noun says stuff about your view of women.

So glad i can rather enjoy looking at the footage and knowing its a video game, set in a world far in the future instead of pushing that universe towards 2018 narratives on how people are supposed to be addressed at.

Back in the 70's people collected postage stamps. Harmless good fun. Perhaps these folks should breathe new life into that. Unless we get to the point that postage stamps need to be identified by gender or whether or not it is sexist, racist or whatever.

There is a reason why stuff like this only works on a forum. IRL, usually people don't bother, because it isnt a point worth bothering about. Only on a place like The Names you get it that people get so worked up over a semantic issue.

Male/female sounds normal to me most of the time, awkward stuff like saying "a group of females" aside. I'm a social scientist and we constantly use those terms in scholarly articles when discussing findings..."Males were x times more likely to...." and so on.

Seeing the Keith Ellison thing unfolding, it's really interesting to see how convenient the "believe in women" schtick is. Considering how easily a lot took it to go against EviLore and how that was pretty much built on the background of a facebook post that seemed dubious in itself and something like a single ass-grab that people themselves accepted for so many years. Very reflecting of the basis for the exodus and the hypocrisy in suddenly caring about being careful around accusations and remaining skeptical.

I think they are forgetting that English is universal language of gamers and not everyone posting on forum is native speaker. Some of the weird posts can be made by people who are barely speaking it.

I mean, there wouldn't really have been an exodus of anything like the scale that took place if the decision to nuke OT, treat uninvolved forumites like scapegoats and ban the kind of discussions we are having now, wasn't made.

GAF as it exists now didn't exist during that period and the proposal for the future was that OT would be reduced to the type of discussion that in hindsight, would actually have killed all of OT and not just community.

Sure, that added the trouble and made it worse, but as someone who read the forum before it all blew up and saw the hinting by big members of the forum (who themselves were anticipating the riot that they'd let loose and going all #believewomen) , the rebellion itself was an equally big part of the exodus. The whole place was the wild wild west, with spamming, people posting porn and shit, demanding that they somehow have a right to NeoGAF or they'd turn hell loose, leaving EviLore between a rock and a hard place. Sure, EviLore's reaction didn't help, especially with the long shut-down, the lack of a system in case his admins and mods rebelled, as well as the overreaction he had in regards to OT. But that was just one part, you'd also have those that wanted to take more charge in regards to the public discourse and who felt that EviLore never went hard enough.

That's not what they're saying though lol. It was one of their militant transgender users who started that thread. Her issue is that "females" refers to biological sex and she thinks it's exclusionary of transgender women. Ergo, ban word because of feelings, nevermind that women refers to only adult females whereas females is a generic term.

I get what you're saying but it's definitely an incorrect interpretation of Era's issue with it. Moreover, it's not technically correct, because women can only be a noun, whereas female can be both a noun and an adjective.

I noticed blatant anti-semitism was totally cool with these people since before they left. The old mods of this place had almost no problem allowing it and now, over there, it has reached truly disgusting proportions.

These people are so unhinged at this point that the FBI should probably look into that site. Definitely a possibility of future terrorists among them if you take what they say at face value. I know that most of these people are just keyboard warriors that will never do a damn thing but still when you have threads advocating killing people who disagree with you like this one it really makes you think that at least one of these people might snap someday.

My wife had no idea, she had to Google it... And she still doesn't agree.

Anyway I told them I don't agree with their terms of service and won't change my ways, in australia this is not an issue.

I'm probably getting old, it's hard to keep up with all this stuff... But anyone can see I was never trying to offend, yet people jumped on me and I was banned for a week then a month after a review.

I don't belong there, requested a perma ban via twitter which they have done.
