It really amazes me how one man can turn an entire forum insane. Every gasp of air he breathes, every single footstep he takes, ERA literally starts screeching from the top of the lungs how it's all evil.
It's this type of obsession that makes me worried the left might be breeding their own John Hinckley Jr. Especially when you consider the forum does have a lot of users with self admitted mental issues/depression.

If it makes you feel better I never tried to get an account there, even when it was open season because I knew I would be banned almost immediately. I like to argue for the sake of arguing whether I believe in the topic or not and they won't have that kind of discourse over there.

I might have made it a few days, but more likely a few hours. You won the game of survivor over there as far as I'm concerned. You posted lots and avoided the minefield, until that one subject....

There is so much nonsense in this thread from people who have no clue what's going on here.

There have been a big increase in gang activity the last 10 years. That's mainly the issue. People are fed up with the main parties not doing anything about it. Shootings, cars being set on fire, drug dealers openly selling drugs in parks, etc.

A large influx of immigrants and refugees isn't helping when we are terrible at integrating them. Many end up being recruited to the gangs.

Yes, there is obviously some racism and xenophobia related to this. But stop claiming that we are all massive racists all of a sudden.

Real problems in gaming today: children who don't have the opportunity to play games (can't afford due to high prices, not accessible), high and unrealistic expectations from the developers that they have to sacrifice spending time with their family, monopolization of the videogame industry, videogame addiction (to the point you neglect everything else)

I posted for the first time in months on 'that place'. Took less than 20 minutes for me to get banned, apparantly with a "history of downplaying concerns over inclusivity and equality efforts; inflammatory false equivalencies, antagonizing other members".

I'm not sure I ever posted anything sketchy there. Ah well, it's not like it's a loss for me.

They were mentioning to do a reversal (Which makes sense to do now because else too many posts will be cross-scattered around) so it may very well be that they are doing that at the moment, seeing the amount of outrage.

Since that's the case then man, (Edit: Yolo) all that offsite planning in the Discord really is completely ineffective and they probably would need some better PR and coordination. Which, seeing The Names members list, is 100% pure irony.

Once again you are putting words in my mouth. I never said that I "regularly" disagree with their moderation. I said that have stated on more than one occasion that have disagreed with their moderation. That's not the same thing.

The word "regularly" implies that I disagree more often than I agree and that's definitely not the case. I believe that for the most part they get it right more often than they get it wrong. I'm just not so biased as to say they never get it wrong. They do get it wrong and when they do it's occasionally in over the top and embarrassing ways.

I am sure we don't have to bring up the Skyrim example (Incidentially, this user had that same name) getting unverafied for saying things. Or other devvers getting banned just for being a dev.

What if their whole Entertainment sub idea was just a plot to do a mass culling in the inevitable feedback threads that would arise where people would (obviously) get upset for the lack of transparency on display and they were going to revert it back either way, but now they know which names they have to mark for a ban (duration pending) for ''Unwarranted hostility at the staff, criticizing staff policies, vilifying entertainment, and history of history of similar''? :goog_unsure::goog_unsure::goog_unsure:

It would be the biggest honeypot scheme related to gaming in recent memory. The (scary) thing is that this isn't even that big of a crazy idea.
