The localization is 100% going to censor this, lots of people already calling for it. I don't even blame people for being upset, or if they wanted to not buy it because of this, but advocating censorship is never the answer.

I think it would be hilarious if they straight up started banning mainstream games and studios like Atlus and Catherine Full Body. It would certainly show just how radicalized that place is to anyone remaining in the Internet gaming subculture who actually didn't know about that site and thought about joining it.

It's one of the most toxic, unfulfilling co-dependent relationships I've ever seen. But you know the ending now? They fix the person's problem with their gender identity, but this doesn't solve the true problem, which is their gender identity. See? Actually this is a good cliffhanger ending for the next game which will be called Cathereeeeene.

I understand that many see this ending as upsetting and transphobic (I would too but I haven´t played this version of Catherine yet so I want full context before commenting on it) but even so, you can enjoy a game despite it having issues like this. Demanding full on boycotts and Atlus head on a plate seems overly antagonistic and the cheerful gleeing and endless waves of pats on the back in the comment section is a tad bit disturbing. They seem incredibly hostile over there. You know, almost "toxic".

Well if it is done as the OP of that thread describes then it is troubling indeed.

Atlus have consistently demonstrated how much they're behind on lgbt portrayal in their games, so I wouldn't be surprised if they actually did this.

I seen it was trending on twitter and checked here then reset and holy fuck. That place is so fuckin lame and childish. The post about OFFICIAL STAFF COMMUNICATION - as if all caps was power over anything. Requests to ban the game being talked about are also silly as shit. Let's just ban it and pretend it's all gone. I know RS get shit on a ton here but with threads like that with tons of bans make it seem like a completely useless forum unless you align with the mods 100%. It used to be like that here but man that place has just doubled down on the insanity.
 
Never understood the love for Megami Tensei games. From what I played of Persona 3/4, I found them to be utter fucking drivel.

I'm guessing that mentioning on Era that you're not a fan of the series gets you a permanent ban lol.

It wasn't the post that shocked me, it was the topic. Legitimately, I do not think there are many topics more offensive to "the narrative" on ERA (the nERAtive) than the suggestion that ridding a person of dysphoria through means other than transitioning may be considered a positive to anyone.

Well, eating humans is probably not a common trope in video games, but human enemies with ticking bombs or human enemies that need to be killed by the fist? In masses of games. I just do not get what the issue is with enemies eating dogs either. I'm your real life enemy and I eat adorable cattle (also, I like cows more than dog); please do not fist punch me to death though.

Finally, since people are always suprised by what I think should be legal: It should be legal to eat dogs.

I figure REEEE is basically a small minority of POC and LGTBQ heavy on the T that patrol threads and then dogpile and report anyone who doesn't confirm to their opinion. The mods then play along banning the people being targeted, all the while allowing those groups to say whatever nasty things they want. I notice that posters that get banned are usually posting back and forth with a few other people who eventually dogpile them and call them either racists or transphobes, and of course the person gets banned so they can never respond back usually.

I mean its just a low form of debate to name call and when you drop the R or T bomb there isn't really anything you can reply back to that. Its not really debate or discussion its just name calling. But it seems like thats the goal to brand them as a racist or tphobe and not allow them to respond so their accusations stand and the other poster cant actually defend themselves.
