During my visit I didn't have fun and instead took trips to to beautiful places in the borders. They were in France
Forgot the name of the mountain and that little city that was gorgeous and has a huge river

Dubai is boring as fuck too. I lived there for 6 years. After 2 months the obsession with futuristic looking buildings wares off and what you are left with is a sauna, where most people go to malls 24/7 and majority of businesses are filled with pakistani/indian individuals straight off the plane with minimum experience in the most important fields: taxi drivers dont know where the airport is, bank clerks have no clue why or how you were randomly charged $3000 and takes 3 months to get cash back, drivers drive like shit not because they all drive supercars but because culture is literally from all worst driving cultures in one place. The beach is so shallow for long ways that its always as hot as a hells pond etc.

It's especially nice in the summer, you get some great vibes
Some areas are less crowded than others but you can make friends easily
You can watch watch some IMAX movie then hit up a nice bar or hookah lounge, get pizza and hang out on the street and interesting things happen quickly
Hot pizza + NY summer night life, nothing like it

I went to Lugano for the day when I was in Milan earlier this year, a very clean and pleasant town. I bought two drinks and it cost me like 10 Euro. There was a a small mountain there you could go up and everything, was a nice place and that was just the outskirts of Switzerland.

I am curious as to what draws you to Latvia? I don't know much about it other than it used to be part of the USSR. Tallinn looks like an interesting place to visit but it's in Estonia which I think is very similar to Latvia and Lithuania.

Good mix of nature and architecture + fairly low-key and unassuming compared to other EOP tourist zones. Also may be a good way of visiting Russia without actually going to Russia.
