Yes, fam. I am doing YET another laptop thread, so freaking sue me. Lol. But like the title asks, is 8GB of RAM enough? Or is that just too little now, especially when paired with an i5 processor?
I have 32GB in my system and I'm still paranoid.

But I like to have 15 tabs open in chrome, on top of photoshop and 3DS Max.
i5 8GB is fine for shitposting at best (SSD mandatory) but beyond that you'll need more.

By the time you buy a laptop, you'll need 64Gb.
It's a laptop, not a life long commitment, just buy one.
If you want to game on it and it has a decent GPU, you will regret not getting 16.
You're right. I was going to save up until the end if the month and go for 16GB, but fudge it. 8GB is enough for me. I think my old laptop was shit because of the HDD and generally being cheaply made. The only things I plan on doing on this laptop is browsing, shitposting (lol), listening to music, streaming video, writing, and graphics. I should be good with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD.

It says in the description that it's dual channel memory, so 2 modules of 4gb each. The laptop doesn't have any kind of graphics solution worth mentioning, so more ram doesn't seem necessary. As long as you don't run too many applications at once, 8gb should suffice.
According to Amazon the memory can be upgraded as well. Doing so should be easy and much more inexpensive. I think you made the right choice.Thank you! I'll go ahead and get the 8GB model then. I don't see why I should pay $300 more for the extra ram after what you just said.
If I had to choose I would go with a AMD option at that price range, you get just about the same performance but with the added ability to to some gaming . Bigger bonus is the are generally more affordable.
no you need 1 TB GB ram
Wonder what will you ask next? "Do I need 15inch or 13inch?"
Looks good but I'm personally not a fan of ACER laptops , last one I had was a lemon , when gaming it would randomly just shut down.
I like this one. I had looked at a different model of the Acer Aspire 5 before. It looks just as good as the Swift 5 IMO. Cheaper too. I mean, the Swift 5 has thinner bezels, but this one is really nice in its own right. I'm just a big fan of Acer in general. Good pick?

From that list I linked I would look into getting the Lenovo Flex 14 it has 12GB RAM and build quality in Lenovo's are generally better.
I do this all the time while playing rocket league at 121fps and it doesnt max out my 8GB of ram.Yup, with 8gb there is no running discord, twitch or youtube while having a couple of tabs open. Unless you're into inflicting pain onto yourself.
