I didn't contract HIV from a very drunken and risky sexual experience.

I was prescribed PEP drugs to take every day for the last 30 days which I started taking 48 hours after the encounter.

Let me tell you that this has been one of the most nerve wracking and deepest soul searching of times for me. It wasn't much of a Christmas break having to put on a brave face while in such turmoil inwardly over what might be.

I participated in a very drunken one night stand with a person I didn't know, who was from another country, never got their name and knew nothing about them, with whom I had unprotected sex. Without going into too many details about that I knew enough the next morning to know I was at risk.

I feel fortunate and thankful that each of the 3 HIV tests I took today were negative.

Just in case it's not obvious enough please wrap it up folks or take PrEP.
