Parasite was great so I doubt I'l forget it soon.

There was also one about a woman fucking a fish which is hard to forget because it was about a woman fucking a fish

Lol, that was "The Shape Of Water", is it ?

I thought it was alright, very good-looking (with a very "Amelie" feel), but the plot and characters were very shallow.

I had 2 thoughts about this movie

45 minutes
>Wow, Guillermo is an amazing director and I feel like this is one of the best movies I've ever seen so far!

46 minutes till the end
>Wow, Guillermo you sick fuck. You could've made this entire movie and gotten the point across without the bestiality

I haven't seen those you mentioned but I'm sure most Best Picure winners are great. I really liked The Shape of Water. I'm a big fan of Creature from the Black Lagoon so I was excited to see it.

I remember some of the winners, sure. I remember thinking they were more important when I was younger, like it was this big cultural thing that everyone talked about and seemed to carry some weight - "oh that won THE Oscar for Best Picture!", but then you realize that only certain types of movies are "oscar worthy" (Dumb & Dumber is better than Forest Gump, fight me) and Hollywood is mostly filled with a bunch of rich degenerates that don't deserve much respect in the first place. I'd prefer an awards show that was Viewer's Choice Awards or something, MTV used to have a movie awards show for the proles not sure if they still do it, but it was overproduced corporate drivel too, they just didn't have their head as far up their ass as the Academy crowd does.

And now that I think about it in fact, I think the following movies from 1995 are better than the best picture winner, which to me means more entertaining and rewatchable - Die Hard 3, Toy Story, Apollo 13, Goldeneye, Seven, and Jumanji. I've seen Forest Gump like twice and yeah it's good but I'd rather watch any of these other movies over that.

Edit: My mistake while googling, Gump won in March 1995 but was released in 1994. Point still stands that the Academy typically overlooks popular favourites in favour of "high brow" movies.

I mean, I often don't feel the right picture gets picked as the BEST one, but I still do greatly enjoy quite a few nominations. From this past decade alone:

2010 - Toy Story 3, Inception, Social Network, Black Swan, True Grit, The Fighter
Haven't seen any of the 2011-2013 ones though a few are on my watch list
2014 - Birdman (disappointed that Gone Girl and Nightcrawler weren't nominated)
2016 - Fences
2017 - Get Out, Dunkirk, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri
2018 - Black Panther, Bohemian Rhapsody
2019 - Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Joker

Also in terms of winners before that, I love Rocky, Silence of the Lambs, Forrest Gump, Gladiator, Return of the King, The Departed, and No Country for Old Men.

Probably my personally least favorite winner is American Beauty. I admit to liking it on my first viewing nearly 20 years ago, but my second viewing was not so great. The subtlety is non-existent, I hate the word "pretentious" but it actually fits here, and the concluding message hilariously doesn't fit with the rest of the movie ("oh man, life was beautiful all along! Hard to buy into that considering we just spent the whole movie watching people be mostly miserable and/or ruining their lives, but trust us on this!" The cast is mostly great though, I'll give it that.

1917 was robbed. Heck even joker deserved it more than parasite.

parasite is rich man dumb and poor people smart. Real original. They only thing good about it was the cinematography.
