Not sure if you know or not but Osirisblack said the games for Xbox this next gen are killer any info on that?
I play with myself multiple times a day
The joys of being single
If it's 4TF like the rumours, it will hold back the Series X, you want that? It's like being held back by the One X. Great console but not next gen.
If you think the only difference will be the GPU, then sure. Lets see if it exists first? It wont "hold back" the xsx, resolution scales very well.
Look--
I have a hard time believing there will be that much of a gap in power. It doesn't add up.
Sony probably had to react a little, but let's lay it out here.
J. Schreier says that both consoles are close and VERY powerful..
He also says that both consoles were aiming higher than Stadia's 10.7 TF. Don't care about GCN/RDNA here. Higher is higher literally in a number sense to me.
Github didnt seem to add up to definitively anything.
Multiple insiders peg the systems at double digits in TF.
Several still said that PS5 had the edge until recently(some still say that) and that "edge", regardless of who has it, matters not. *Slightly* is a huge key word here.
Additionally, I think there's no way a company like Sony didn't have a contingency plan in place if they gambled low.
And 2GHz is really high for a console GPU, it would run hot. Which means it's either not accurate, or its 8.something TF (which seems silly). The thing I always go back to in regards to Github, is that there is no ray tracing. To me, that shows we don't have the full story.
Yeah, people say that they just didn't test RT because they're BC tests. But to me, I think that further proves that Github does not show the complete story.
Oh, you're one of those, huh? "9TF PS5! No chance it's higher!".Going for a 400mm² SoC on 7nm is quite unprecedented , ms went that. Route because power is there heritage and USP, plus they may have a cheaper Lockhart too. I don't see why Sony would want to go with 400mm² aswell, it's seems like overkill.
A 9tf Navi would provide about 8x the GPU performance of an OG PS4 which is a substantial leap, and this time the consoles will also be getting more substantial and more expensive leaps in CPU and mass storage (SSD).
I can see why the xsx makes sense for Microsoft but it makes less sence for Sony.

No one has noticed we have reached 1080p.....ages
Why are YOU even talking about it? Microsoft sure as fuck aren't. You have your fingers crossed that PS5 is a 9TF machine, do you hope the Series S is 7TF like some people have said?If u think we should wait to see if it exists why are u even talking about it?
I think it will have a smaller SSD, possibly no blu ray drive, slightly less ram because 1080p won't need as much, the CPU may be clocked slightly lower, they will save costs with cheaper cooling solution and case. Lockhart would of been designed with a completely different goal to xsx, and because of this it should not be a surprise that it will be a lot cheaper.

i afraid your son might do harem no jutsu instead
Don't misrepresent my position, I never said that lol.
I just look for reasoning in things, but it seems you don't have the intelligence to recognise that.
Like if you disagree you could actually try and have a counter argument.
Did I misinterpret something? If so, my apologies.Going for a 400mm² SoC on 7nm is quite unprecedented , ms went that. Route because power is there heritage and USP, plus they may have a cheaper Lockhart too. I don't see why Sony would want to go with 400mm² aswell, it's seems like overkill.

This guy needs 2 be bannedTo add.. the price of the XSX and PS5 Pro is a major concern. It could go as high as $800. The XSX is literally the latest development for AMD. The price could interfere with Nvidia's 2080-series of cards if priced much lower than the 2080 Super. I hope that Nvidia drops their prices down when the top of the line next-gen consoles come out *IF* they cost much lower than the 2080. Also PS5 Pro might not see the light of day until 2022.

Sorry, I don't have the intelligence to recognise that.Well u have just accused me of bizzare stuff without trying engage in the debate, I mean you could start with saying why you do think it would make sense for Sony to go with a 400mm² SoC.
Guys you all have to calm down. Sheesh!
Our text was pretty flaky because he was getting the information from a very high profile worker at Sony.
The text seems to be all over the place.
I never got dates nor prices. As I said before, "expensive" to me means near Nvidia 2080 costs. The guessing is all on me so take it with a grain of salt.
PS5 as of now is 9TF. I specifically asked that and got a yes.
PS5 falls in between performance of the Lockheart and the XSX. That is confirmed.
The iffy part is the PS5 Pro.
"they have one model with lower specs than PS5 and one model with higher specs. PS5 is right in the middle" -- talking about the Xbox SKUs.
"tons of rumors that the lower spec xbox is coming out this year".
"XSX is equivalent to the RTX 2080 super"
"unless they plan on selling it for $800 I doubt it will release anytime soon." -- XSX coming out later??
There is other comments like if XSX sells for $500 then that would disrupt Nvidia sells, etc.."
Anyway, I tried to piece together was is happening. It appears like the PS5 Pro is coming later. That would mean the base PS5 is 9TF and perhaps the 2 SKUs for Xbox are releasing during xmas 2020.
So 2 models. Possible 2 coming out from Microsoft but 1 coming out for Sony.
I'm just as confused as you guys but I won't press for straight answers.
Yeah you're going on my ignore list as well.Guys you all have to calm down. Sheesh!

Edit: The Why are YOU part might have come across as aggressive, it wasn't meant to, it was meant to be emphasis, because MicroSoft haven't said shit about Lockheart, which makes me think that doesn't exists any more. Your 9TF talk though... Only MS can have 400mm2... No.
Bro why even ignore anyone man lol. Just let them post and laughYeah you're going on my ignore list as well.
PS5 Pro ? Lmfao this is Tommy Fisher levels of shit.
I mean you said if Sony did it, it would be overkill, correct? So then why? There u go again lying about what I said, I never said ms can only have 400mm².
Like if u think it makes sense for Sony to have 400mm² please tell.
Is Osiris in ChicagoShould have taken the blue line
I mean you said if Sony did it, it would be overkill, correct? So then why?
If both are close in TF, then naturally they'd both have fairly large die size, right?
From what we've heard from people "in the know", they are kinda close (within 15% of each other). Which is why I don't think Sony are going with a 9.2TF (which I believe only makes sense with 40CU@2GHz, if someone can do the math for me...), 2GHz is too high so it would be below 9TF using that result. And that's not that close (30%, not within 15%).Well it's certainly beyond what they did with the PS4 and the pro, why do you think they will go bigger then 350mm²
Yes if they were both close in power they either have similar SoC size or one is clocking higher, but my question is why would Sony choose to go very high end, I've already put forth some reasons for why Microsoft will but I can't think why Sony would want to go that route too.
So you were texting a person who knows a person. And that's what you received, read, typed up and decided to hit post on.
I believe your sources are questionable at best. Your story also keeps changing - 1080, 1080ti, 2080 super, PS5 Pro at launch (but also not). The details keep changing, however small. Your post history across Era and GAF is also questionable, loaded with PC fanaticism, anti-Sony commentary, and a general downplaying of next generation technology despite the clear benefits for console and PC gamers alike.
In short, it appears you don't have any concrete or credible information to share, to the point where the vetted tag leaves me scratching my head.
Edit: for what it's worth, I really hope you're right on the dual approach for both MS and Sony. I'd definitely be interested in an XSX or PS5 Pro if they're substantially more powerful than entry level consoles.

I could be wrong, I don't know shit, but yeah... I'm not buying a much weaker console if its the same price.
I think the 9.2 thing originated in 2017 (the GitHub thing was 2018, right? and said something about 2017?) and they might've changed plans.Yes, we have had a few insiders saying the ps5 is close or more powerful then the xsx and I think there's a good chance that there correct, I'm just curious for sonys reasoning for making that choice.
i dont remember where i read this, but there rumors from japanese press saying the github just a test being done by intern....and there rumors said the test being done with 12 disabled CUs lolThe thing I always go back to in regards to Github, is that there is no ray tracing. To me, that shows we don't have the full story.

That was me. And that place was a cesspool of fanboys ready to pounce at anything against their beliefs. They did me a favor.

Even just under or over 11 wouldnt be enough to get people with PS4 games that can work via BC and their PS4 online profiles to abandon those things especially if they have a ton of pretty games to show with itLook--

I don't look for a 9v12. I don't even look for a 13-14TF bombshell.
I look for Sony to say "12TF RDNA, yadda" and when people realize they are looking at essentially a mirror of XSX, they'll realize how silly this all was in the end.
Well, especially if they can produce a box for less cost and have it be comparable to Microsoft, why WOULDN'T they? Also, IF market analysis led both companies to pursue a higher end market and price point this time around? There are multiple reasons.
But bottom line, If Sony sticks around $399 and MS is at $499 or $599 and does NOT have a lower end SKU, they will get crushed again in the marketplace most likely. If MS DOES have a lower end SKU then that is what will sell and the high end box will sell very little. I don't see an advantage to EITHER company to go high end. I'd like to see that, as I would buy a high end box, but not enough of the mass market would to make it work. Besides, it's more about the games and IP. Look at the Wii and what it did when everyone was laughing about it at first. MS has had the high end for the past year or so now, over the PS4 and PS4 Pro...how well is THAT box selling?
It's not all about the power and capability and it's not all about the price either.
Might have to settle for 1440 pages, and hopefully 60 posts per second, likely 30 or less most of the time though. With Variable Reader Reactions on Gaf 2.1 anywhere higher then 40 could probably be OK and not tear the pages.Have to reach 2160p...ages before we get the PS5 reveal
We're only half way there fellas
"Go bigger THEN.." Sorry, we are too intelligent to understand why you use "then" instead of "than".
If you cant think why Sony, the mighty technology company known of over engineering stuff and making expensive tech just because they can, would not design similar level SoC as MS, THEN you are in a wrong thread
I'm 95% sure that PS5 will be at least 12 Tlops
And higher res is all that those extra TFs get? Its easy to change res and fps for a dev. The games scale, draw distance, animations, effects, etc will all have to be designed with a 4tf (or more) needing to run them. They can't be easily changedIt wont "hold back" the xsx, resolution scales very well.
I think Osiris hinted that the Rocksteady one is a Superman/Batman teamup/vs(?) Game.Look man, I want to believe you, but there's stuff just not adding up.
I'm well aware of the goings at WB (the site I work for consitently posts leaks and info on TV/Film updates) and fully know about a Superman MOVIE, but nothing on a game.
Almost all of WB's studios are accounted for:
And the rest are on mobile stuff. Now unless they struck up another partnership with someone, they couldn't possibly have a Superman game ready to launch soon. And they wouldn't, especially not with Batman launching in the Fall.
- WB Montreal - Batman Reboot
- Rocksteady - DC team up game
- Netherrealm - MK11 DLC/most likely Injustice 3
- Monolith - Multiplayer game with Nemesis System
- IO Interactive - Hitman 3/ Multiplayer shooter
- Turtle Rock - Back 4 Blood
- TT Games - Lego Star Wars
- Avalanche - Harry Potter
Having 2 skus, a cheaper one and a more powerful expensive SKU would be the best of both worlds.
But I don't know why you have to go full console warrior on me.
I could not care less which one "wins" I'm just interested in why each company will take the direction they choose.
Guys you all have to calm down. Sheesh!

Fud as usual from vfx. There is no 2 sku ps5. Jason, Osiris has said both consoles are comparable to the 2080, now all of a sudden your insider info comes out with 2080 super after it was revealed that its rdna 2. You did the same thing back at TGA.
There is ZERO correlation to next gen console and nvidia. Sony and MS does not have stock in the 2000 series nor do they care about it. AMD high end cards are going to blow the water out of these consoles.
Like Sawyer said, XSX is releasing this year. That should clue you all in to how fake vfx info is.
