Like with the new Xbox, I'm less interested in the raw tech breakdown and more looking forward to information on the larger system environment (system software, account structures, games, other odd and ends). Hopefully tomorrow's presentation will give a little glimpse of what's to come, beyond the hardware.

Not necessarily they maybe thought next gen would be 2021 considering they do have a few big titles this year but with Microsoft going first it's maybe has pushed there hand to also release this year, this is what I think happened last time but in reverse, I think the first xbox one was kinda rushed a little although a solid console it didn't quite match up to ps4 on multiplat titles, obviously they had more time to get the xbox one x to market and make sure more of a step up, compared to ps4 Pro, Sony might be building ps5 to be more powerful than xbox series x, Microsoft might still have cards up its sleeve to pull out once Sony show there hand

You know, that's a shitty thing to say. While it's true there are several obnoxious Sony fanboys at GAF, it's also true that there are WAY more regular people who are simply PlayStation fans that are excited to see what their favorite console offers and hoping it's the best it can be. So the thing is that MS trigged the response, bringing us the specs much earlier than usual tradition. This either means that Xbox One X is weaker and MS wanted to go first (but wouldn't make much sense for Sony to immediately respond to it.)
Or more likely, the Xbox One X is more powerful, MS confirmed it, put out the info, and Sony reacted to it so they can immediately get the DC ready so people don't start questioning the PS5 specs for weeks which would result in higher disappointment when they reveal the specs later. So get the nubs nipped now I say.
Of course, it's all about the price too. If MS is more powerful and costs the same or less fine. But if the Xbox Series X is $600 and the PS5 is $450-$500 that's a major difference and puts Series X in PS3 territory.
I also don't like how Sony and MS are putting out two power gap Sku's at launch or imply to,, these aren't phones yet since the X/Pro for XBO/PS4 we are seeing both continue to try and imitate phone strategies with expensive multimedia entertainment machines.

That was a reveal event, not a GDC presentation with some additional info in a blog post, man.
I'm just saying, best to keep expectations in check, lest we have a repeat of CES where people went in expecting it to be all about PS5 with some E3-tier stage event.

i reckon a side by side loading time comparison of TLoU 2, ps4 footage vs ps5 footage, but not a demo of the game, only the loading times, a clever tease if you will
