Guys do you remember the 'remaster engine' in the next gen PS5 rumors that said every old gen games are being remastered to play on PS5 with little to no effort on developers part... Yeah this sounds like BluePoint is gonna be doing a lot of those remasters AND a new game too from a completely unique IP...
cool, so the same thing is MS is doing.

The remastering engine is actually supposed to remaster the games. As far as I've seen, what Microsoft showed off just higher resolution for older games (correct me if I'm wrong).

That would be extremely out of touch and imho straight up dumb in this current situation. Practically all events have been cancelled, Sonys marketing team knows how highly anticipated their full reveal is, MS has already shown a lot and so on. Limiting this talk to just a few numbers of Teraflops etc for which only a minority of nerds care about doesn't paint a pretty picture. It will again come off as arrogant and blind towards current developments. Assuming they want to launch their product by the end of the year, they have to do a full reveal at some point in digital form. There is absolutely no reason to wait any longer.

Agreed 100%. If they go through this whole thing without the console design being shown, or any new games, they will have lost me completely, and a lot of other people. Just look at the engagement on the tweet. It currently sits at 118k likes and 39k retweets. Probably one of their biggest tweets ever. Expectations and hype is high. Will be huge blowback if this is just cerny in Webcam spouting numbers.

the design of the console
the price
but everything else we will see, all the specs, architecture, a few tech demos.

I wonder if Nintendo's success with the way the switch was rolled out (first reveal in October, release in March) is having Sony and MS hold their cards closer to their chest.
I have a feeling we're going to see some "in engine" trailers/sizzle reel, some tech demos with commentary, and maybe 1 live demo of an actual game. I hope I'm wrong, I'm ready to see some actual next gen games.

I see something similar happening. Damage control on Sony's part to push the narrative away from actual GPU power, start combining RT numbers & whatever concations they come up w/ to confuse the masses.
Hopefully it's scenario #1. If not, prepare for the meltdowns & flippity flops, no pun intended.

It appears that it's a GDC video that only devs were meant to see that has been repurposed.

Given that it's live from the Playstation blog I would guess that it's as consumer facing as possible. If it were originally a dev focused pitch it has surely been retooled.

Btw, the official PS5 webpage was updated yesterday at 1:25 PM. The webpage looks exactly the same though, so I'm assuming that once the reveal occurs, the webpage updates will be made public.

They've been pretty clear on what the 12TF is & represents. I'm 100% positive they floated that other number just in case Sony tried to pull a fast one.
