Did Harvey Weinstein actually rape 90+ women?

I never knew about the trial or paid any attention to it at all. I never read the transcript or whatever they call it with the courts. I just know that over 90+ women came out saying he had raped them, and I'm wondering how many did he truly rape? Was there definitive evidence for each and every one of those females?

Just curious how it turned out with him tbh. I can imagine a rich film producer banging all the time with his resources and time and freedom, just going to hotels and paying women to fuck. So is the dude a twisted rapist? Or did everything just fall on him at once and he looked extremely bad and the judge decided to sentence him harshly? How do you even handle a case where 90 women claim to have been raped?

For Hollywood to be so woke, they sure have all the den of Social Justice iniquities running rampant.

They will even tell you how terrible you are, while raping each other, keeping people of color out of the executive pay grades and award cermonies, passing children around, over dosing on drugs and alcohol, using more natural resources with private jets and multiple mansions, etc.. And they will do it with all the moral high ground they can buy.

If you believe trading sex for fame is rape, yes. If you don't, probably not.

I would think 900 is more accurate.

With that amount of power for one person to have is almost seen as god like, just look at all the reality shows on TV, 100s of thousands of people want to be famous and rich, a guy who can put you in Hollywood movies at the drop of a hat means you will meet him wherever he say's and do whatever he says.

In a sick and twisted way I bet alot of those woman who were raped at the time would have thought this is them paying their dues to get to the top and not realising they were being raped. Most didn't get to the top and probably realise now that they were raped.

Is it rape when you consent because you want something from the other person?

Damn sounds pretty crazy. So if he wanted to be safe, he should have just had every chick he banged sign a contract saying it was consensual and maybe even recorded it all to be sure. He's probably a disgusting dude who uses his business and power to fuck by offering jobs and such, maybe worse, but I'm wondering how many times he actually got women just by offering money, yet they were still added to t number counting as rape? Sounds like a very chaotic and stressful ordeal for everyone involved

I mean... IMO i think a lot of these women just let him get on with what he wanted to do in exchange for a role in a movie.

In all aspects of life we all do things we dont want to do for want we want, just a question of scale. Do pornstars really want Ron Jeremy spaffing over their face? Unlikley, they do it for cash.

Difference is pornstars will sign consent forms etc.

Does consent require a contract or form?

If you trade your asshole for protection from getting beat in prison is it really rape?

I do think some of these women did do it consenually, or at least consenually in Weinsteins mind as in they agreed to whatever he wanted. But for these women they were selling their bodies and engaging in acts with him without really wanting to do so.

Where does the line get crossed and it turns into rape? Guess thats up to the courts to decide.

Either way he was a scumbag who took advantage of people. Some of these women were doing the same to him, but in the end Hollywood is sleazy and full of pervs, pedo's, druggies, and rapists.

I think it falls under abuse of power. It makes sense that an employer should be professional and only hire those that are good for the job, deserving of holding it and providing their best services to accomplish the employer's goals and vision. Anything used besides that, or anyone gaining entry based on sexual favors or something like that would probably feel abused and wronged at some point, maybe

No, can be verbal, like Weinstein said, all these women consented verbally.

Courts didn't believe him though.

Im not 100% sure he raped them, i do think though he bullied them into consenting to fuck him, does that count as rape? Not sure, court thinks so though.

f you trade your asshole for protection from getting beat in prison is it really rape?
Yes, in prison you are presented with 2 bad choices. In this situation the girl is not in need of protection if she fails to get the job.

I agree, but it isn't rape to have sex with your secretary and give her a promote her. It's still illegal and unethical, but it isn't rape.

As long as they got what was promised it isnt. If he banged someone telling them they'll be a star then dumped them after, yeah I'd consider that rape

Exactly. They let him. They're grown adults with individual agency. They are not children.

they let him but he still creeped like an animal

if you think that dude's black book ain't filled with crazy shit, you haven't been paying attention to the literature

angelina jolie also has a lot of crazy shit

If he looked like Brad Pitt, would he be as widely reviled as a creep?

Ok so if a man refuses to pay after having sex with a prostitute, did he rape her or rob her?

Yeah I was unsure about that too. But when I looked up rape, there was a category called abuse of power and I can see how it might be conflicting. It's not technically rape, but it still counts as rape as I understand it...So like if a boss had sex with a secretary and promoted her she can technically sue him, I guess, for rape if she felt some type of way about the entire exchange. Doesn't really make sense to me yet because what if, say they had a healthy relationship and were dating for a long time, and then he gives her a raise based off her actual skill and everything is okay, but then she starts to dislike him, sues claiming he raped her and gave her the raise in exchange for sex. Not really sure how it goes

Neither. It's like eating at a restaurant then refusing to pay the bill. Petty theft at most or business dispute in small claims court.

is only rape when you fuck someone against their will using physical force.

the rest is not rape, you can call it whatever you want but not rape.

if you can say no, it's not rape.

i'd slot that shit under rape in the court of lawlers no prob

fug that, you have the nuts to tell a girl yer gonna pay to fuck her, you better pay up

Where does that end? You tell a girl you'll date her if you fuck, and you renege, is that rape as well?
Even telling a girl you love her to get in her pants would be rape of you wanted to push the definition that far. Not paying a sex worker for services rendered is breaking a verbal contract, and should be illegal and is unethical but not rape.

WTF is wrong with Neogaf defending a sexual predator? 🤦‍♂️

Maybe all of you guys claiming it was just "quid-pro-quo sexual favors", should actually read the list of 90+ complaints against Weinstein: 👇

Here's some excerpts:
3. Asia Argento, told The New Yorker that in 1997 when she was 21, Weinstein asked for a massage and forcibly performed oral sex on her at a hotel in France.
8. Juls Bindi, a massage therapist, alleged in a 20/20 interview that Weinstein masturbated in front of her while he groped her chest in 2010.
10. Cynthia Burr, told the New York Times that as a young actress, she met Weinstein in a hotel lobby and he unzipped his fly and forced her to perform oral sex on him in a hallway.
13. Hope Exiner d'Amore, On a business trip, she says Weinstein claimed there was a mistake at the hotel and only one room was available. In the middle of the night, Exiner d'Amore, says Weinstein forcibly performed oral sex and intercourse on her.
16. Juliana De Paula, a former model, told the Los Angeles Times that Weinstein groped her and forced her to kiss other models in New York a decade ago. She added that when she tried to leave, he chased her around naked, and she had to fight him off with broken glass.
23. Lucia Evans, told The New Yorker: "He forced me to perform oral sex on him. I said, over and over, 'I don't want to do this, stop, don't.' " In the end, she said, "He's a big guy. He overpowered me."
24. Angie Everhart, alleges Weinstein masturbated in front of her while on a boat during the Venice Film Festival. The former model and actress claims Weinstein told her, "You're a really nice girl, you shouldn't tell anybody about this."
36. Salma Hayek accused Weinstein of sexually harassing her while working together on the 2002 film Frida. She claims the list of unwanted advances from the producer included showers, oral sex, massages and more. She also alleges he threatened to kill her following one of her refusals, and verbally insulted her on set.
44. Katherine Kendall, told the Times that Weinstein convinced her to stop by his apartment in 1993. Once there, he came out of his bathroom in a robe, asking for a massage. She refused; he left the room and returned nude, she says. "He literally chased me," she told the newspaper. "He wouldn't let me pass him to get to the door."
52. Natassia Malthe, said Weinstein barged into her London hotel room and raped her in 2008 after she met him at the BAFTA Awards. After the rape, he masturbated in front of her, the actress said.
56. Rose McGowan, reached a previously undisclosed settlement with Weinstein in 2007 after an episode in a hotel room during the Sundance Film Festival. In 2016, she tweeted that she was raped by a studio head in 2007, but didn't identify Weinstein at the time.
80. Melissa Thompson, says in 2011, while pitching him on her technology startup he put his hands up her skirt, and later, under the guise of a business meeting, led her to a hotel suite above his office and raped her.

There was nothing "consensual" about these incidents. :pie_eyeroll:

Not all 90+ women claimed to be forcibly rape by Weinstein, there were diverse accusations ranging from: verbal harassment, sexual harassment, unwanted touching, exposing himself, masturbating, sexual assault, threatening careers, etc.

To answer you question, why he isn't "paying women to fuck", because he gets off on the power-dynamic with taking advantage of young actresses.

Fuck anyone defending this fat rapist.

As undrtakr90 mentioned, rape often isn't just about having sex. Of course this podgy prick could have afforded to fuck any high class prostitute he liked. It's about the actual act of having sex without consent, which gives the rapist a sense of power.

Of course, sometimes you might think "yeah, this accusation seems like it might be bullshit" cos I do that sometimes too, but to think "these 88 accusations are all bullshit", or whoever many of them there are now - come on.

This thread is like a meeting of the future incel club for real. WTF!?

people ITT dont seem to understand that the vast majority of his accusers are people that rejected his advances and were subsequently punished for it. they just had the misfortune of rose mcgowen and asia argento heading their movement.

the women that used harvey to further their career are probably staying quiet

The guy certainly seems like a piece of shit and maybe some of those encounters really weren't consensual. It's hard to tell these days. Even if both parties sign a contract saying they consent to a hug, the guy is still somehow a rapist.

This guy?

Absolutely not. Dudes got pure Lady Killer vibes going for him. I bet all of those Hollywood Wannabees were just eager to suck his nutsack dry 24/365

I don't know that anyone is necessarily defending him much. Beautiful women have been known to use their sexuality to get what they want. Many people lack empathy when they know a woman has done just that, ends up in a hotel room with someone who makes them give it up, and then cries about it later.

If I pay someone to use their influence to help my career, can I later claim that they robbed me?
I think you just decribed bribery. If you commit a crime yourself, you can of course later point out who you bribed to the authorities, but I doubt you'd come out fine yourself.

Probably, the guy had massive power and abused that over decades. Wouldn't be surprised if he did even more than that.

He is scum

What he did was fuck a bunch of attention seeking woman, who in 2020 could at best hope to be instagram models..if that, in exchange for money and fame and now their looks have faded have decided that they were raped.

I would love to know how many of those thots had repeat "rapes" that they drove themselves to willingly

look at the other posters list of victims, all over 10 years ago but only now they came out

Is it rape when you consent because you want something from the other person?
Depends on the context.

That like asking if a prostitutes job is being raped.....the answer would be no, unless she was being forced into it, like say sex trafficking.

If its because 'I want a promotion / job' then for the person who has that authority it would generally be considered sexual assault at least.

Its an interesting question tho, can you legitimately use sex as incentive without it being considered sexual assault by default?
