Did Harvey Weinstein actually rape 90+ women?

I'm going to be honest - except when he used force or targeted underage girls (which he did in a at least some cases), I don't really care that he traded gigs for sex with adults. They are all screwing around anyway for power plays (or, like Asia Argento, also going after kids), and these high profile actors aren't exactly suffering if they don't get the jobs. Hollywood is a culture of damaged people at best and depraved narcissists and and sociopaths at worst, and as long as they target each other I don't really care.

I think the focus on Weinstein was about sacrificing someone important to public ridicule for relatively minor abuses compared to what the rest of Hollywood does regularly. We all know the rumors about directors of child actor shows/movies (like Dan Schneider, or even Spielberg) doing what Weinstein did, but with kids who were essentially pimped out by their parents rather than a bunch of narc actors. I care way more about that than Harvey getting Angelina Jolie's twentieth BJ of the day, but guess what got investigated and got the news coverage?

Hollywood is the epitome of preference falsification.
WCGW if we put all the most talented people at faking emotion together ?

What you get is a house of mirrors where being genuine person is the last thing everyone expect.
Make no mistake, i don't think you can make it there and keep your integrity.

Sure. 100 percent. The man doesn't exactly exude charm and good looks.

What's strange with these guys, including Cosby, is that they could've gotten their sexual appetites gratified consensually just given their money and status. But psychopaths gonna psychopath.

Stop trying to be controversial, OP. Monsters exist.

Rape is about power not sex...if so you would be right. But yes they were deranged sociopaths

yeah i mean this guy is in prison. he was powerful as fuck, had the Clintons on speed dial, etc., and yet is still in prison. that should tell you that he did some bad shit.

I think that definitely, maybe more and maybe some other illegal activities as well. That feel of power is helluva drug.

Maybe a borderline rape or 2 at most.

But Id say this is a case of buyers remorse in action. Not to mention a vast majority of his accusers are not in the public spotlight and are in high demand with big paychecks.

Id wager 99% of those women knew EXACTLY what they were doing.

Depends on the context.

That like asking if a prostitutes job is being raped.....the answer would be no, unless she was being forced into it, like say sex trafficking.

If its because 'I want a promotion / job' then for the person who has that authority it would generally be considered sexual assault at least.

Its an interesting question tho, can you legitimately use sex as incentive without it being considered sexual assault by default?

Rape is forcing someone into sex or a sexual act against their will either through psychological manipulation (such as through threats of violence or blackmail) or through sheer physical force. Offering a woman fame and fortune in exchange of sex is not rape. Those women had the option to say no without retaliation. They could have walked away, but they didnt. It isnt rape, it isnt even sexual assualt because they did something in exchange for something else. They agreed.

The dude is a scumbag to be sure, but he isnt a rapist. He used his power and influence in hollywood as a way to bait women into sex. Are women who are turned on by firemen or doctors and have sex with them purely for their employment status being raped? What about a woman who marries a rich ugly old dude for his money is she being raped? Is every man who promises a woman all kinds of things just to sleep with her a rapist? Nope.

I believe he sexualizy harassed rather than raped them as RECORDS SHOW he has a vagina/microdick...

But then the argument is that if they do refuse, punishment maybe getting looked over in future roles / position, hence you can feasibly argue its implied because of the power dynamic.

Im talking in general here btw, not Weinstein which seems he categorically withouy confusion did infact rape a few women and abuse his power many times over.

He had 90+ high class prostitutes willing to sell their cunt for money.

The women working in something like McDonalds probably are infuriated over how this shit is in media. All of those women could just work as hoes and make much more money but they know that it is not worth it and they respect for themselves.

It is not your right to get some role or job. They could anytime do something else in their life.

He was a serial predator, with staff who worked primarily to set up his assaults and the company practically had a law firm dedicated to shutting down accusations, even his brother spent $600k of his own money paying off accusers. Several prominent actresses with already successful careers we're victims or attempted victims. And this went on for 20 years.
Did some women acquiesce to him even though they found him repulsive because they hoped for preferential treatment, quite possibly. Even that is pretty fucked up, especially as he would have staff deliberately misrepresent the type and location of the meeting they were going to have with Weinstein and then bail leaving the victims alone with Weinstein in a hotel room, where he would just 'surprise I'm naked' them. But he was also trying to force himself on women who were definitely not consenting in anyway.
Weinstein was disgusting and a criminal who seemed to gear his entire life towards sexual assault.

There are plenty of people out there that are falsely or ambiguously accused, Depp for example, save your consternation for them, Weinstein deserved what he got and more.
