Wouldn't it be misogynistic if the premise of the game was to have you aid in the spread of this woman-killing virus, rather than actively trying to put an end to it? Perhaps I'm a simpleton, but that idea sounds like the opposite of misogyny to me. It's downright gynistic, if anything.

Why video game characters are considered "role models" for people?

Aren't most male video game characters over the top manly super dudes? Since I was a kid I realized that and I didn't thought them as role models.

Fuck you, Drunkmann. Cortana is 10,000 times a better character than any of those hideous man-women you destroyed the Last of us with At least she doesn't hurt my eyes to look at her and I say this as a straight woman.

Maybe some of his viewpoints are fair, but the thing is that you might as well base those ideas around a different game. A game that can be named Project XYZ Part 1.
Why would you take such a huge mindset upon a game that is called "THE LAST OF US 2"....Ideas have been shared, roads have been taken and expectations have been raised. Sometimes I don't understand why people don't gift their own idea more creative space in their own fair environment - why do they keep mixing up mindsets.

Yes, everyone should get his fair treatment and his fair chance in life, everyone.

Do you guys think Sony is gonna drop Neil Druckmann from ND? This is disgusting.
Please.

Sony likely let him do it, most of their western studios are full of the woke type. All I want to know is how did this game pass the prototype phase of production while reading the actors' scripts knowing what happens?

Just get that Last of Us: Remastered port to the PC on Steam, Neil. Then you can truly rise above and beyond the boundaries of Sony. Thank you.

It honestly sucks that this fool is one of the main creators of my favorite game of all time(TLoU). I've been avoiding all spoilers for Part 2 and will be there day one to get it but I get this sick feeling that it is gonna be my last Naughty Dog game until him and posse are gone from the studio.

Yeah, this is what worried me in the lead up to TLOU2. Like I said though, I'm going into this game objectively. My only point of focus will be the story and the characters. If they ring true within the context of the story, I'll be happy. If they stand out from the context, I'll be pissed off. If the context IS SJWing, then I'll be fucking pissed off.

Pretty much where I stand on all of this. Neil may have his "thoughts" on all this, and that is fine as I believe there is room for diverse opinion, though I think he's wrong about a disease being misogynist.

But I trust him and ND to have the artistic integrity to provide these ideas within the context of the story and the lore. If they step out of that boundary then they'll be open to my criticism.

"But.... But..... He's just creating a game from his own life experiences and stuff. Everybody puts their own politics in their works. Gosh you guys are so reactionary."

I agree with some of his points, horror tropes (such as making all the women zombie's) are often based in misogyny. I think there's room for both fantasy, sexy women in Japanese games and more realistic characters if that's what he prefers.

Sony are the ones behind any and all this nonsense. They censor stuff, want to be politically correct, etc. Naughty Dog and all 1st party studios under Sony follow a strict code by Sony. Sony probably doesn't even want any of the controversial stuff in Last of Us 2. It's Neil and company who broke that boundary somewhat. Isn't that a good thing? Regardless of what's portrayed in a game. However, there IS a such a thing as over-doing it though and i do believe that's maybe what happened with LoU 2. As if the story was written to purposefully be out there, beyond the norm. Almost as if expecting a gift or award from the politically correct crowd or perhaps the LGTBQ

Realistic characters, like huge roided up women based on CrossFit Games athletes in the post-apocalypse.

How superficial are you if you can't even look passed on how Cortana looks... Maybe judge her by her arc, and what she does? Because besides S05 where she goes full singularity, she was actually a role model.

I won't buy TLOU 2. I hate everything about the direction they've taken with the franchise. Neil Cuckman is the final nail in the coffin.

Agreed. I can't play a game like Spiderman, because frankly I don't agree with people taking law in to their own hands.

If a third entry does see a release, it will sell well. This forum isn't the baseline.
I'm fairly certain, having read the spoilers, that fans of the first game like myself, will want no part of anything else Dreckmann has to offer, after getting done with number 2.

As I tired to point out of 'the other' forum once, and got banned: There are basic things you learn about writing early on. These are 'don't stand on your soapbox', 'don't moralise to the reader' and 'write about what you know'. ALL three of these are now constantly ignored and people notice. They notice because we've had years and years of GOOD writing that follow these rules. It's their 'removal' that leaps out at people. People may not be able to identify the problem. They just 'sense' something is off.

The game will do we sales wise, but the public reviews (not IGN or whatever) will be bad, Sony isn't a fan of bad press an could hurt them going into the PS5, Also I had no Idea he basically got the lady who was the reason U-3 was good and wasn't some political game. He is an awful man. Can we please get him outta naughty Dog, can't see this ending well for them.

Ellie is a survivor though. She's been moving and on the run for years, constantly moving her body. Climbing up and over things, moving crap out of the way to get to where she's gotta go. Probably not much food around either other than dog food, rats, crickets, grubs and the like. Of course her muscles would be huge from all the protein as those things would contain large traces if eaten regularly. She also has a keen sense in finding medical supplies, to include med-kits. Wait a min...Med-kits would most likely contain steroids for heart related problems or insect bites. Holy shit...Maybe she's an addict.

So we have one developer trying to mske movies through games and now we have another trying to make woke lecture out of games.

One should direct movies the other should seek mental help.

Fan of the first as well. A persons point of view injected in to a game has no affect on my purchase (if the gameplay is solid). Everyone has their own perspective on what is right/wrong. This is a game first and foremost. It isn't real life.

For example, I don't agree with violence. Do I blacklist 99% of all games being released today?

This panel is quite old though. I think it took place not long after TLoU was released. Were people not aware of these statements before?

Is it not possible? A Ridley/Sarah Connor type.
These women are lean, not built like tanks.

Virtually all women with significant muscle development are on juice. This is particularly true of 'Crossfit athletes', where anti-drug measures are frankly non-existent.

I couldn't care less what you do. Knock yourself out. I hope you love it.
