Xbox finally had the chance to widen the gap between themselves and Sony before their own event. And completely fucked it.
I understand games like Cyberpunk, Batman etc may be too hard to get footage for due to their own plans of revealing but this was like a Nintendo Indie Showcase.
Very underwhelming, hope Sony don't let us down now.

Look nobody forced Microsoft to roll this out now just like nobody forced Sony to put out a Cerny presentation with an SSD slideshow.
This show sucked. It absolutely IS their fault. Maybe it will matter in November and maybe it won't. Knack was the first PS4 game we saw running and it didn't matter.

Looks like this a problem that MS created can't really have the narrative of not having console generations and impressive games at the same time..it seems like it really may be 2 years before we start to see something truly next gen on XBSX. Can't have your cake and eat it too it seems.. I play mostly on PS consoles but have a Xbox 1 and Switch..I just wanted to see something that made me say "there's no way this can happen on a PS4" even if it could. MS did not deliver that today..smh

I would have agreed with you before todays event but after seeing it today I believe MS should have not done this event.Calm down guys. Unless Sony does Spiderman2 PS5 exclusive, these are the types of games launching with next gen consoles.
At least MS is open and showing things to get the train going.

Yeah this show wasn't needed this early, clearly the games weren't ready to show or at least not to show any big difference between their current gen versions and next gen. I'm assuming they are all cross-gen since this was a 3rd party show but man when any actual gameplay was shown it wasn't all that great. The game I'm looking forward to most is AC: Valhalla and that trailer was terrible, hardly any actual gameplay all quick cuts, dark images and then slow mo where the fire in the background looked like it came from an xbox 360 and was running at sub 10fps.

Basically 4k/60 or 4k/30 versions of current gen games, maybe with a bit of ray tracing thrown in. Thats why they are called 'cross gen' games guys. And the reason why i said many times on here that there will be a lot of gams next gen that look like current gen games but at 4k. Thats just the price of 4k, high framerates, and ray tracing.
If this has tempered peoples expectations for next gen, then its for the best. Some of the expectations have been ridiculous on here the last few months.

Yeah, I have voiced this concern in the past here...saying that it will be mostly up-rezed games with higher fps etc and that you need to make a next gen game from the base up.
Then 2 years in and we will nearly be at the mid-gen refresh!

I have to be honest, Halo 4 and Tomb Raider reboot look better than some of those games. Valhalla looks next gen to me though. Gorgeous game, I can't wait.

Pretty underwhelming to me. For a company lagging way behind this generation, I'm not sure what they hoped to gain with this. They needed to make a big splash, seems like it would have been better to just wait and have a bigger blowout reveal next month where they can hopefully show Halo Infinite and other first party games that really have a wow factor, and then show most of this stuff as the extra games on the side. I get not having E3 (as much as I hate that event) hurts the ability to have a big reveal, but they really needed to do all they can to wow people with one huge Series X reveal event where they show the best games that show off the console in the best possible light and reveal the release date and price.
Maybe they can still do that next month, but would have been better to do it all at once IMO. But maybe they just can't announce release date, price etc. yet due to supply and cost uncertainty due to Covid-19 manufacturing and distribution delays etc.

How about you explain what was next gen about that shooting, sword cleaving, wall running, sliding and driving?
Help me see what you see, because Ive seen all of that with better animations already. It looks nice, but thats about it. Nice is not something I'd expect from next gen at this point.
I had my expectations low going in but i still was disappointed.

AA titles from Steam
Not a single 3rd party exclusive (lol IGN stream mentioning they expect just under half games to be 3rd party exclusive)
Not a single game that's Series X only
Not a major 3rd party game like Harry Potter, Batman, Elden Ring etc.
Seems like a pointless show, these could have easily been released on YouTube as multiple single trailers without notice. To hype up next gen without a single piece of great looking next gen gameplay.
