I'm just saying this: everyone is making a big fuss about this guy and even with the response above about blanket statements being truthful, no one can say what games or anything he's done other than a forum account status

I'mma take a phat dive through his post history now to see if I can dig anything up; this has piqued my interests

Maybe I'm misinterpreting your tone/and or the history of VeteranVFX on here but most people I thought took what he said as credible but knew he's not working at Sony or Microsoft. It's only the fanboys that wanted to to crucify him or cherish his every word.

Misinterpreting my tone for sure; quite normal here with my use of swear words

I'm just legitimately confused why any of us would give a fuck what this dude says or care why he's banned
People taking other people's word as credible is different than the words being credible themselves

I could run around saying the standard port for SSH is for 6800 and people could take that as credible, doesn't mean shit if the standard port is 6800 or not

I don't want to crucify the man, I just want to know why people are in such an uproar
And when I ask for deets about the dude no one can say anything

Well, if you don't know solid deets about the guy, why care?
It's just baffling to me lol

It's not that he got banned it's more why he got banned. It was confusing as we didn't have all the context and it sounded like he got banned for something that other posters here had been getting away with for literally years at this point. But once we had context it was more clear.
 
I support his ban 100%, now that I see it fully, but I think if we're going to have truthfulness/incitation bans, well, there are a shitton of people that are a complete waste of space to ban before an overall educative poster like VFX.

I would prefer we had no bans at all for that content, for the record.

I still think his ban is a "bit" much and if I were him I would have question...I think. But I never saw what his actual repsonse if there was one.

I agree that even still his interactions are far less egregious than 95b percent of other posters here. Probably myself included.

There's certain topics here that just for whatever reason enduce the 😂😂😂😂😂 posters to the max.

Replying with 😂😂😂😂 is trolling and adds nothing to the discussion. If VFX is banned for what he said then these people should be as well.

But that's just my two sense.

That just still leaves me questioning why it devolved further

Apparently this dude sticks to the speculation threads; one or two posts outside of them mentioning favorite RPGs or "Friend worked on this game," sort of stuff

Cool for leaks I guess; just doesn't seem genuine imo
 
I think his ban is justified in that you don't ignore a moderator. The rules are the rules. He flagrantly ignored a request to knock it off or back up his stance, and did it again.

He called a few things I believe right. The biggest being horizon on PC but has since doubled down that more Sony games are coming to PC and it wont be in the time frame of Horizon, meaning not after 3-4 years but rather within a year.
 
I have to add, that the original message insinuated he was an Xbox fanboy (he's actually a PC gamer), or that's how I read it.

So we have one of the better contributors on the board being banned, publically shamed for being a fanboy, while the actual fanboys who do the same and worse, run wild and free.

I believe wholly in the mod team, and that that was a bunch of incidental things happening with the best of intentions, but that's a poor showing in the end.

For men....size matters and for once, it is the White Console that looks bigger than the Black one.

No that's fine, like I said I was just thinking about how the moderation is laxer now and this was something mods were pretty strict on in the past.

Anyway, I got my answer.
