Oh my god, been watching CAS play on stream, just saw Lev get falcon punched in the face again, it's hilarious.
 
Glad I decided to avoid the game after reading what happened to Joel. Such a fucking shame that the series turned into this.

Skipping around the cutscene video that was posted, what the hell is up with Abby? At times her arms are ridiculously massive and others she looks more like a woman? Is there a massive timeskip to explain the loss of muscle mass? Seems like an odd thing for Naughty Dog to fuck up.

If you're talking about the end fight, it would appear Abby was crucified for a long time(weeks/months?).

There is a flashback of her 5 years before when Joel killed her father, the surgeon who would have Ellie's head opened up. She had a normal build and gained all that body mass in 5 years, in a post apocalyptic world...

Pretty rad, right? /s

For the last fight, it was stated that Abby spent a whole crucified on the beach with almost only water.

Ah, okay. I was referring to the end fight, seemed really odd that her arms were half the size.

Yeah, no kidding. It only made it worse for me. Joel saves her ass and then she beats him to death? Fuck that.

I just watched a walkthrough, and the game looked alright and very diverse until I saw people being upset at a hispanic man for cutting to the front of the line at the cafeteria. He got burritos. That feels pretty problematic to me.
 
Regarding Abbey.

I think it's pretty clear that she's a hetrosexual female (from birth)

But we can't be having that in this day and age so she ignores social norms, the male gaze, blah blah

and so, she is the hideous beast that we see before us.

Even Ellie seems to have gotten uglier with age

We can't have nice things basically
 
Played last night and got the "open world" part of Seattle.

-As far as character development is concerned, the short Abby section wasn't good for or her ex-boyfriend. To this point she feels throw away and I feel know empathy or connection.
-Tommy's wife is a still a huge bummer.
-Dina is kind of meh.
-Grown up Ellie is okay.
-Jesse seems good.
-Joel's Death felt like someone had been watching or reading too much of The Walking Dead.

Having just recently replayed the original, all of the great performances were their to support Joel who was a great flawed, if not broken, character. I get wanting to switch up protagonists but Joel's death feels abrupt and a little cheap. Maybe something you want to save for the end of part 2 in a series. Early impressions is that this is giving Metal Gear Solid 2 vibes except without the bat-shit crazy story that turned out to be not so bat-shit crazy.

Maybe is because I'm only watching videos, but I have yet to see anything to imply that this is one of the greatest looking games of the console generation. Texture look flat. Not much atmosphere. Am I missing something?
 
This game is going to break sales records based on the strength of Ellie and Joel's relationship from part 1, and the hope to continue their journey. It's such a shame.

39Daph a streamer on twitch just said "maybe we will get to play as Tommy to see how he got there, maybe Nora and the dog as well", she's fed up with the Abby 12h gameplay.
