Xbox showcase July 23rd

Hellblade is the only thing so far shown that looks next gen. Horizon 2 looks good too, but not quite on the same level. Unreal engine 5 demo was a lot of rocks.

Microsoft is our only hope for hype about early next gen. Over time I'm sure games will look incredible, but so far "next gen" hasn't really impressed.

Microsoft will hopefully knock it out of the park! Hoping for Flight Sim news maybe a open beta or something.
 
Another fantastic, clear announcement one of the many reasons I'm all in on streaming conferences, 1 issue with E3 is it was confined to one month.

What mistakes? The people in charge of the Xbox One fiasco, Terry Myerson and Don Mattrick, are long gone. Phil turned this brand around.

Hellblade is on a whole other level compared to anything else. I know it's still some time before release but I really hope we get to see a lot more, maybe even some gameplay.
 
Feels like we won't be seeing any ID@Xbox games at all during the showcase probably. They just released a indie showcase video on their yt channel

YouTube usually does have 4K streams though (they had one at least for the last showcase they did with Dirt 5 and AC Valhalla), but the quality definitely isn't as good as Mixer.

Hype as fuck for this event! Not expecting any prices nor Series S, but a shitload of games!

The most important question of all though, is what T-Shirts will uncle Phil be wearing?
 
no excuses left for MS. they have had an appalling slate of first party games for practically a decade now, and they need to step it finally. i want to to see Halo looking amazing, not just the average shooter it has become under 343i. I want to see that Fable reboot, I want to see new IP. I want to see good shit from their new studios, who have had at least 2 years now to get something decent to show, and I want to see signs that these studios have been invested in, as many are quite small and don't exactly have a great track record. They obviously don't all need to be AAA, and some have been purchased as Gamepass filler quite honestly, but that isn't an excuse to keep pumping out games at the level of State of Decay or We Happy Few forever.

i really think it will be a good show in term of announcement. MS will want to try and stop any narrative about the quantity of their first party output being lacklustre compared to Sony [quality will be an entirely different issues] and whereas Sony seemed to only be showing games we can expect in the first year, it would not surprise me to see MS happy to announce some big games that are 2 or 3 years away just to stop any negative narratives continuing. looking forward to it
 
Twitter hype levels are pretty low compared to when Sony announced the PS5 event date, it was the top 10 trending.

Anyway, I'm pretty excited about this.
 
9am? I haven't woken up by 9am since March. On the plus side when I do wake it will be over and I can see all the juicy highlights. Hope its a blowout and AFTER this event we will soon see how the cross gen games look in Current vs Next gen. I really think that needs to be shown so gamers see the fidelity increase. Otherwise a lot of these games probably won't feel next gen (based on reactions to NG games so far) Showing Halo Infinite on X1X vs XSX and showing a MASSIVE improvement in fidelity and performance would hit it home to a lot of X1X owners. Regardless.... just a few weeks to see MS 1st party finally!

Also no Forza Horizon reveal this year means an automatic 3 point deduction.
 
They cannot afford to mess this one up. And I think they know that, which is why I'm quite confident in their ability to make this one at least positively memorable, and hopefully it will be awesome.

There's always a chance they mess it up, but it's not that likely. They have everything in their own hands. They received feedback for their last event, Sony already had theirs, and they still have a lot of things they have not shared... They can play it however they want. It's almost as if they would have to try in order to miss the mark.
 
Holy cannoli i'm at work....is better to take a sneak with the phone sometimes on the show/gaf or don't take a look and watch the replay when i am at home?
 
The worst part about these shows is seeing that giant xbox logo, then under that a bunch of game studio logos. Then seeing a bunch of games I don't care about or rarely hear about again.

Really hoping the ship has changed course. I haven't been excited about any from Mircosoft since 2007.
