What's even funnier is that people still believe MS cares about selling Xboxes more than selling XGP suscriptions.
They're full on boat selling XGP, and are also providing a machine you can use for it (without having to deal with PC prices and complexity) and for selling third parties licenses which they get a lot of income as well.
MS is all about services now, they even want to get rid of Win32 API on Windows to favor UWP just so they get total control of Windows apps purchases on store.

Gamepass pushers seem to value quantity more than quality, I've had the service a few times and man I rarely found anything on it that I wanted to play, it's either stuff I have already played or a bunch of garbage.

Once again, you are confusing "Big expensive company" with "it is run by smart people". And we have certainly seen plenty of horribly bad decisions made by these highly paid ceos, who then just walk off with a golden parachute while the lowly employee suffers. If you want to use MS's money as a shield for arguing how they can do no wrong, then I guess it makes sense why you play on Xbox.

They are forgetting that a GPU alone will cost them roughly $1,200 or more that is equal to the Xbox Series X or PS5. That's not including a CPU, Motherboard, Ram, Monitor, Keyboard, Power Supply, Case and Mouse, and a copy of Windows 10. Fucking idiots.
I want too see what kind of performance they can get out of $499 PC. DMs are open, show me your amazing 4K60 or 4K120 builds with Ray Tracing on PC at $499. Please enlighten me. Thanks.

Theoretically Microsoft could afford to release the XSX for 99 bucks and destroy Sony, but nobody wants to waste money. Game Pass and xCloud are long term investments.

For me it reminds me more of Chinese style manufacturing, just dump the market with a lot of offerings and crash the perception of value since higher quality offerings cannot compete. I suppose they have reached the conclusion that they cannot and do not want to compete with the Sony "traditional AAA" style of video game business. I guess it is more " value " for the ADHD type of person who needs to skip around and wants a large library, just like how Netflix is I suppose. Just sad how Netflix has changed the quality and style of movies and shows as well for better or for worse.

Though, I guess it is interesting if a launch of a new console looks so grim that the most exciting thing about it is "the value of a subscription." We'd both be laughing together if Sony announced a bunch of free games for PS+ and a bunch of PS5 fangirls had so little to be excited about for the launch that they were all in unison describing the "value of PS+" over and over again.
