Next-Gen PS5 & XSX |OT| Console tEch threaD

You gotta wonder what's the point though?

No amount of FUD right now impacts on any undecided purchaser to choose one console over the other. Titles available, features and price decide it.

As soon as people see the games run in to the console decisions will start to be made. The PS5 event in June and the MS one in July is testament to that.

So I'm not sure why people waste the time on such banal topics like what is the definition of RDNA 1 vs 2.

I've asked myself this question countless times. I don't understand what their end goal is, is it a monetary compensation? It wouldn't be the first time MS paid "influencers" to put xbox in better light. When a customer goes to the counter with a PS5 at a best buy they will not ask the clerk if it has 12 TF, or if the VA is faster than its SSD, or if the GPU is RDNA 1 or 2...The customer is buying it because of the games and nothing more.

So, what's the point?

:messenger_tears_of_joy:

Don't try to get by on semantics. You repeatedly said that XSX had a sound chip no better than the X1 chip. Along with all the nonsense about a GPU being required for HRTF based 3D audio, presumably because you saw a few promotional materials from AMD (Aureal A3D was pioneering this tech, GPU free, decades ago).

At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter. It's all fun and games, nothing personal.
.

Could you quote where I said that the XSX sound chip is no better than X1 chip? And if you call AMD nonsense, then you really know better than the ones providing hardware for both companies.

Enough with this bullshit, if you people are angry aim your anger towards xbox and make your voice heard. Being in defense mode here won't make Craig prettier.

Thats exactly what I just said.

Your claim: Halo Infinite was supposed to be a tiered release. As in from DAY 1 Halo Infinite was going to be released in pieces.

Facts: This was only considered after a delay was deemed necessary.

Not only that but MS or someone from 343 denied that was the case before they admitted to it later.

That sounds like you'll have to pay extra money on top of the basic subscription to get some things. Like paying extra to get a sports channel (EA games)

So like how streaming on Amazon works?

As in with prime you get a selection of content and then can choose additional subscriptions for even more content.

To use an example with gaming it would be the basic gamepass subscription followed by any other additional subscriptions such as EA access and other similar services.

That was my initial reaction. With basic cable you get plenty of content that's ad supported in addition to what your paying. To get the good stuff you pay extra for the premium channels.

Maybe MS is working out deals to get the rest of the third party services to be a part of game pass for an additional fee.

Let me guess if you pay the basic then you get only get gamepass, pay a little more for xcloud and more
so they can include EA play whatever is called it.

Great we went from buying games to just licenses to play them and now we will literally rent them
for a short-medium period of time because which matter is the quantity not the quality.

Yes I know, I'm old school in this but if someone like it good for him.

Youtube recommended me this video and while a bit graphical, IMO it sums up why MS is in such sorry state right now.

That Colteastwood guy sounds like an alumn of the discord group of Phil's warriors.. must be a member.

Colteastwood, timdog are all idiots of the same kind. They spread fud and misinformation as usual!

They could be looking at removing all third parties from the basic package so it can be distributed onto more devices.

This would be the perfect vessel for MTX riddled games. They don't care for you to pay $60 to own a game more like get the game on as many hands as possible to sell some BS armor or ship or whatever people buy in those games.

I just want to go back to speculating things again...@HeisenbergFX4, drop another GIF to get us rolling, where are you?? Lol

We definitely need another bone so we can stop the battle of FUD lists.

Yeah, what a pretty picture it paints for the future. It's like how we view TV and movies now. Everyone has their own separate subscription service, it adds up to a decent amount every month, and a lot of them run ads on top of charging you.

Can't wait for a monthly game subscription fee package in the $40+/month range to own absolutely nothing.

I don't like games as digital service, i want blockbuster games like what sony is doing, when the game is old, just move to PS now.

I think if the strategy of the company was not use that as main attractive for its console I will say is okay as you say, include in gamepass
old games or which have few sells.

Of course you can have some games AAA but as we saw few productions of that style in our streaming services like Prime and Netflix
I don't have many faith in the ambition of these games also taking in account make a game requires more time and money than a
cinematic production then I am sure will be plague of bad practices or anti-consumer as Phil love to call it.

Like micropayments for everything I am still surprising see this practice in almost all the titles of Xbox or even remove things like play Horde
mode in Gears 5 if you don't have Gold and this behaviour is increasing in the AAA from that company for example every certain amount of
time Forza remember you to pay for Gold or another DLC even making the process to fill your garage with new cars harder than should
be and I am sure is because business people of each studio see as necessary.

If your game is literal free I understand you are more aggressive always that don't transform your game in a pay to win, but if we think they
will put their game in a service which probably paid for hour played plus you need to get more now than never each dolar possible from the
user as difference with the movies a game easily can take more than 6-8 hours to finished.

Or even listening to music:
basic = free with ads
normal = 10 €/month = 320kbit/s
premium = 15-20 €/month = cd like quality
super premium = 20-30 €/month = high res music

basically same tiers exist on Netflix and the companies won't stop for gaming. Next stop Amazon Prime Ultimate 200€/year delivery, music, video and games (+ additional fees for premium content)

Exactly how I see it.
What if they are sharing part of the Gamepass price to EA for example and getting EA pass is not full price but just a dollar more per month on top of your Gamepass subscription?
I think I'd pay for that

Those are not mutuality exclusive. Netflix has their own blockbuster quality movies

Might not be the worst of ideas actually, I think. That way Gamepass can get really AAA games from many publishers day 1 and get good return also. Like if you want EA games, get a EA pack over and above with $5-10 a month. Get an activision pack, Ubi pack etc. This way gamepass will have a great library and lets be honest, at $5 a month we wont have had day 1 AAA games. We would also be able to customize and keep our costs minimal. Add in xcloud stream anywhere and I believe it might be a compelling model- especially for people who are in multiplayer games.
And I am a person who plays only singleplayer games and thats why Sony is my main jam. But as long as there is a compelling collection and I can try out different games at reasonable cost, this can be my secondary gaming subscription service. Not a bad idea at all. I just hope that it doesnt kill single player AAA games further.

Worse console, worse platform, different games, more expensive games.

If you want Sony games you have to get the PS5, but the value proposition is objectively worse.
But the chance of the digital edition being cheaper is there

Worse console? lol You're going to be in for a rude awakening ,

PS5 is the better gaming console but if you want to mine some bit coins Xbox Series X is your console.

PLOT TWIST: Heisenberg was teasing RedGamingTech's podcast with special guests NX Gamer and Matt Hargett which released just now.🔥

EDIT: link updated

Switch Pro speculation? I appreciate the effort, but at the cusp of a next gen, the topic seems to miss the mark. Great ensemble , but is there anything about PS5/XsX? Otherwise not sure who this is for at a time like this.

Because it was stated in the context that EVERY GP subscriber is doing the $1 trial.

Well it was my comment that you quoted and it was in the context of being a fucking joke.

A joke rooted in the truth of a large number of GP subs being people who did $1 deals or $1 upgrades to gold. Get over yourself.
