PlayStation 5 Pre-Orders Starting TOMORROW (Sep 17) (Some may be TODAY)

Wanted the Digital Edition but since it's not up got this just to be safe

Just got mine through Amazon UK, waiting to see if they put accessories up etc, otherwise may have to buy them elsewhere.
 
thank god I couldn't sleep, I didn't hear the new until I woke up at 230am and I was able to get through BB. Hoping I can grab one for my son for christmas from Amazon tomorrow

The thing is it has always been done like this. We get to E3 and we get a price and then the race is on to see which of the retailers sort their shit out the fastest.

It is only because Microsoft decided to say 'you know what, we've just given you our price and all the of reasons why you should buy our console, but we're not actually going to let you buy our console for another couple of weeks'.

A truly bizarre decision. At the point people are most interested and hyped in your device you turn people away and let the competition announce their stuff and take orders in the intervening period.
 
got my PS5DE pre-ordered... waiting fot the pulse3d and the camera to also preorder them.

It's only 2 months away... (plus 2 days here in europe)

On one hand , yes it's always been like this, but in the other, it was always "the next morning" when pre orders went live.
Right now, it's been nothing but a cluster fuck of misinformation and poor planning at the box stores.

I dont think Amazon US went live yet. The page has said unavailable since the second it showed up and I haven't seen anyone say they snagged one from the US store yet. I could be wrong but keep vigilant.
 
I've old boss at GameStopsource tells me stores may have more allocation today. Probably a scant amount again.

They literally turned the SKU on and told all stores to reserve their allocations. My former boss' store got 12 and I was there within 30 minutes of his frantic message to get there and they were down to 4 remaining.

There was no warning even from on high...nothing. It just happened and then all other retailers seemed to follow suit.

Well, got my preorder email direct from Sony. Gonna keep trying some local places first, and if no luck, going straight through Sony.

I think it's more than that. I believe in a Covid world where crowds are not a good idea(plus many retailers hurting), they saw how few systems they'd have available and said fuck it. Whoever gets here, gets lucky. Turn the orders on. No sense having 150+ people at the door for 10-20 systems.

A very shitty thing, but I truly think it was a factor.
 
I was able to somehow get two disc drive editions (target and amazon) and one digital edition(best buy). My mom even got in for a disc drive ps5 from amazon. I'm going to keep one disc drive one and sell at cost to friends and family for Xmas.

Now I'm waiting on the 3080 to drop. I hope I'm as lucky as I was with ps5.
 
I got the golden ticket email to order one through the Sony sign up from the other week. Should I order from here since it is Sony or should I just keep the Amazon preorder I already have?

Yes. I told Amazon to email me as soon as it becomes available.....
 
Waking up to see all the bullshit you guys went through overnight. So happy I was ocd refreshing yesterday after the event and got one at walmart. Also got the Sony email overnight and I'll probably go after one there as well because I don't trust walmart.

You're probably safe either way. I'm actually a little miffed I didn't get a golden ticket. My PSN account is old enough to have started high school this year. And I use it plenty, trust me.

If I do get one, I'll cancel my other pre-order immediately.

Does the PS5 come with a Dual Sense controller? Someone let me know please cuz I need 2 controllers. So that I'll know how many extra controllers to buy as I have to fill up a pre-order form. Thanks! =)
