Starfield will be ready next year in all likelihood.

I really, really hope so if nothing else so they can actually start work on Elder Scrolls 6.

I'm hoping Microsoft will throw even more resources at them to get games out a bit sooner too.

Microsoft buying a declining company for 7.5 billion.

It just works.
You can’t be this obtuse look at the studios they just brought in forget about the IPs which are all big and GOTY contenders. Those studios can now all work on new IPs and other things with Microsoft financial backing. Not to mention these are games with single player components to them something people claim they’re lacking.

I hate exclusivity with a burning passion. That being said after that shit Sony pulled with Final Fantasy 16 I really do hope Microsoft makes the new Fall Out, Doom, Elder Scrolls and Wolfenstein games available only on Xbox, PC and Nintendo platforms. take away ghost wire and deathloop from Sony, you own that shit too.

so weird since they got obsidian which are making an Edler Scrolls clone. or has it been the new welder scrolls all this time?!! dun dun dunnnnnn!!!

Now Microsoft, once the champagne has been emptied please go to Activision and buy the Sierra Online IPs. Tribes 3 awaits the Halo/Doom DLC skins.

Is this "anti-consumer", MS?

Trying to keep up with the narratives.

Arguably the most pro-consumer thing to do is give options of where and when people can play games, and Microsoft has been second to none in this regard, whether it’s PC releases and cross play or keeping their IP on competitor systems. I fully expect my gamepass sub to get way more value now and I don’t even need to buy an Xbox. Feels pretty pro-consumer to me, but I never planned to go PS5 only.

Omg that was so unexpected. I hope this turns out well for both MS and Bugthesda. Bethesda lately had very big problems with development and managing projects. Very very good move MS.
I’ll still buy a PS5 but this will make push Sony do greater things and take more risks. This gen will be fire 🔥

Yeah, lets acquire Zenimax/Bethesd and let them continue releasing titles for the competition instead of making them exclusive to our platform, it makes sense

I think the goal is to further increase GamePass' value proposition. Having more people buy Xbox consoles is great (and a secondary byproduct in my view), but they'll make money on the Bethesda games regardless, whether from new subscribers to GamePass on Xbox or PC, or whether the games are bought separately on Steam or PS5/Switch.

As a PC/PS5 gamer this is great (minus Bethesda games being notoriously buggy as fuck). But as a sole PS5 player, this sucks.

Exposing the sinister cartel of retailers who allow companies to pay for advertising space.
Do you know how many studios you could start with 7.5 Billion dollars?

ms just bought off a scalper

MS could finance a cool 75 brandnew AAA games with a 100 million dollar budget for that money. Instead they buy Bethesda, a third party developer that already made games for both Xbox and PC. So all that 7.5 billion dollar deal accomplishes is that Bethesnda games are available on Game Pass and that Sony consoles won't get future Bethesda/Zenimax games. Was that really worth so much money??

My bet is that if you'd ask Xbox gamers what they's rahter have: 75 new exclusive big budget games for their console or a dozen Bethesda games on Gamepass, they'd go for the first option.

Really like the move from MS. The proof is in the pudding though - so far everything that requires talent goes to MS to die. They need to change how they manage creative talent. Future will tell.

Now that's one way to mental gymnastics around this.

And this happened 1 day before the pre-orders period will start. Microsoft ain't fucking around. I wonder what's gonna happen with Death Loop and Ghostwire Tokyo since they're PS5 exclusives.
