Witcher 3 created a beautiful world with interesting characters bolstered by its' storytelling. The game play systems are serviceable at best. Bloodborne easily gets my vote, it's a toss up between it and Demon Souls as my favorite Souls game.

DAAAAMNNNNNNNNNNNN

What do we do with Lovecraft then?

Sapkowski plagiarized a contemporary though. It might be argued that Lovecraft created a genre. I don't know though, you might have a fair point.

edit: And also a lot of Geralt's character is unfortunately plagiarized.

Witcher 3 gets my vote as its the most influential and open world games. Its the bar in which every open world will be compared to for awhile (maybe Cyberpunk is better).

Bloodborne is incredible in what it actually is. Its a gem of a game and stands alone on its artistic vision (yes, Lovecraft...but I mean putting all that in a video game). Both are games of the generation, but if you have to choose....its Witcher 3 for its affects on the industry as a whole.

What we should have done in the first place; value game play first and foremost.
Games are not exclusively ONLY about gameplay.

And if gameplay is what we should value, I would pick the game that has good framepacing with better graphics and an open world over a linear game and worst graphics that struggles to maintain 25fps... IN COMBAT!

Even then, I know that's bad optimization and hardware limitation. However, not everything is just timing your attacks and dodges.
Having to read about the monster you'll hunt to know its strengths and weaknesses, craft your alchemy beforehand, etc, are part of the gameplay too and I take it into account.

So, in the end, not everything is just about "HIT GUD".

People who pick Witcher 3 are the type of people who would pick TLOU/Uncharted 4 over MGS V. Hellblade/GOW over Sekiro/Ninja Gaiden.

They simply value characters, story and grandeur over gameplay and combat mechanics
As someone who prefers Sekiro and Ninja Gaiden over God of War, I disagree.

The Witcher 3 might not be the best game combat wise. It has many flaws in this aspect actually. But I wouldn't call it a cinematographic experience either for example, as its experience still relies a lot in gameplay. But The Witcher 3 is not only about fighting, it is about exploring and collecting.

The Witcher 3 is a game with great lore, beautiful landscapes, huge world, lots of nice creatures and very creative ways to fight them, and it also happens to be fantastic written. Also Gwent. It is very, very good to play, and that's why even being so lengthy it takes tons of time to feel stale.

Feels like you're saying that combat and gameplay are the same thing. Gameplay doesn't have to mean complete freedom in moving around or a deep combat system. The games you mention I would argue has great gameplay for what they're trying to achieve, navigating you through incredible worlds while telling great stories.
While I find the combat in souls games the best in the business I have never completed any of those games because I reach a point where I lose motivation as there hasn't at any point been any story to set the context or give me reason for doing what I'm doing
And I would argue the other games have a serviceable story, enough for what they're trying to achieve.

Games like Uncharted, Tomb Raider and even Witcher 3, the story and characters is the main focus. It's like the story and characters were written first, then they developed a gameplay that will fit into the story. Whereas with games like Ninja Gaiden and Bloodborne, the developers made the gameplay first and looked for a story to fit into the gameplay.

-The point is, Witcher's strengths don't lie in its' also-ran game play.
-Better graphics is debatable. Both create beautiful worlds. Depending on the platform you play on, Witcher 3 is more technically sound.
-You either haven't played Bloodborne or don't understand what linear means.
-Open World is de facto better for you? Was True Crimes Streets of LA a better game than Max Payne 2?
-While Witcher provides lore about monsters, gives you a suite of alchemy and magic tools at your disposal, even on hard it can all largely be ignored.
-No one said "HIT GUD" or "GIT GUD".

When I said open world I referred to the technical aspect. It should be waaay easier for Bloodborne to have playable framerates than a fully fledged open world.
And yes, objectively speaking, TW3 has better graphics than Bloodborne, graphics =! art

This is entertaining, i didn't expect it to be this close. I was for sure that Bloodborne would be in the lead with 20 - 25 votes, at least.

I expect Witcher 3 to win for the simple fact that it appeared on more platforms.

Purely anecdotal, but I've noticed in other Japanese game vs Western game matchups, the scores for each game surge at different times of the day. Same thing happened in MGS5 vs RDR2, God of War vs BB, and FF 7 Remake vs Witcher 3, to name some examples.

do we keep total for each vote ?
here it seems to already explode previous ones (maybe because it's a semi finals)

The weebs only hunt in packs at night.

Very true. But they are powerful in numbers, dakimakura pillows and chibi icons as far as the eye can see. A terrifying sight.

Best way to distract is to start a conversation about ship-girls or what decade had the best anime.

Witcher 3 is the better game and it is not even close. Only on GAF this game will go this far or be this close to the masterpiece that is Witcher 3.

Witcher3 is casual garbage for scrubs that play on easy mode and suck at Soulsborne.
Divinity Original Sin 2 is way better than walking simulator Witcher3.

Witcher 3 easily for me.

Played both to completion, I just can't get into the hype around Souls games.

PS Why can't I vote? :(

So much people believing gameplay=combat.

They must have lost on like, IDK, 80% of gaming

You on the other hand seems to way too invested on this, clown.

Relax, both are good games. Let the vote continue and be the best one wins.
