Epic Store Free Games

How are these comparable? One is free forever if you redeem it, the other meant as a trial period or demo to attract actual consumers rather than have a billionaire be your one consumer for his PR. Guess they're not just getting paid per download but also by tweet. Until FM2021 doesn't sell as much because people expect it free.

That's what I was wondering. Seems like a pretty dumb comparison.

Another week already?

Here's Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs and Kingdom New Lands.

If you have Amazon Prime, you may want to be claiming older games here (below the fold):

Next week is Blair Witch and Ghostbusters, dope!

Keep an eye out for next week.

Wargame Red Dragon is one of the best strategy games of last decade

Nice of them to make Blair Witch free a week after I bought it for full price on PS4 (physical copy). It was also nice of PSN to make the digital version half price days after I bought it.

Any recommendations on what to spend coupons on before they expire?

i am looking at Hades and Destroy All Humans
Fallen Order is pretty fun (one of the best single player Star Wars games in ages) and it's 50%off. With the coupon it's $20 which I definitely think is worth it for the game.

Ghost runner seems to be getting good comments and you can combine the coupon with the 20% off launch promotion they are having.

Is the ghostbusters remaster any good?

The game is pretty fun. It mostly plays like a rather basic third person shooter but it's enjoyable and, as someone above said, the closest thing we'll get to a real Ghostbusters 3.
If you like the franchise you'll probably have fun with it.

The Remaster seems to be as basic as it gets though and doesn't look much different from the original PC version.

Blair Witch and Ghostbusters this week. Who ya gonna call?

Awesome stuff. I have the old version on Steam and was tempted to get the remaster on consoles but now I don't have to.

I'm gonna let them expire.

Why's that. Not an unreasonable thing, as it certainly is making me feel like I "need" to get something

My laptop has a 1050ti...not sure how it compares. But it definitely struggled with that one, it was good enough to be playable/enjoyable but a bit choppier than I would have liked.

Reasons.
I don't use launchers. I don't really need anything, I have too many games already. I don't want to support them and their scummy business model and bad shop (no user reviews, really?).
I kind of feel like you, I'm feeling as I'm losing something and FOMO kicks in, but reason prevails.

A modern Dungeon Keeper sign me up. I loved Bullfrog games and Peter M back then. Such a great concept for a game.

Next week's game "The Textorcist" looks pretty fun. I might actually download it instead of just adding it to my collection

there's so much churn of games between game pass, amazon prime, egs, etc. they also seem to do Steam sales right before they arrive for free. that happened with elite dangerous (outside of the 2 week window, of course)

Next week is Cave Story
RSRh1.gif

I already own it but I'd love to have it everywhere, it's a real masterpiece.

Next week, damn!

Pillars of Eternity (definitive edition) and Tyranny (gold edition) are both excellent modern CRPGs

Almost bought both Pillars and Tiranny on steam sales.

Good!
I saw both Cave Story and PoE and thought, oh cool those have always sparked my interest.

Checked steam library. Both sitting there lol. For years probably. Sometimes steam sales are a burden.

Would you really consider PoE "excellent" though? I mean, I played it to the very end, but it was a long game, and for the last half it felt more like work than recreation. Just my two cents, but I think the game was designed to look good on paper for Kickstarter supporters, but it suffered as a result.

I finally got my GOG Galaxy synced up with my Epic and Steam accounts (literally just took a few minutes, I should have done it ages ago). It's nice to have my entire PC library under one app. I mean, it wasn't exactly a deal breaker before for me personally, but it's good for people who got stressed out about the hassle of having multiple apps to deal with.

PoE 2 much better, at least.
Tyranny didn't play much, not sure if it was the story or the setting... didn't click with me.
