Controversial gaming opinion that you have?

What is a controversial gaming opinion that you have and want to share? For me, I think Halo 5 is the best Halo out of the whole series. The gameplay, level design, graphics, sounds, enemy variety, multiplayer ect was top notch. Only thing I didn't care about is the story, but that's the thing. I never cared for Halo's storyline just like doom..

Microsoft has made more moves that were better than Sony going into the next generation of consoles. You're all buying a PS5 because of the success of PS4 and assume it'll be just as good. People are buying an Xbox because of moves Microsoft has been making the last year.

I'm not. Just a PlayStation fan.
So am I. I kinda phrased that a bit too definitively but last year was first time I got an xbox and gamepass has been great so far. I've been buying Sony consoles since ps1 day 1 every time. It's just in terms of hype right now Sony's biggest games coming out in the next 2 years are all sequels. Not saying thats a bad thing its just in terms of hype I'm not as hyped going into PS5 as I was with previous consoles.

Thanks for the clarification. I just got an Xbox myself using gamepass on it. that being said, I don't really see the need to get the series X/S at launch. You could say the same for the PS5, I guess. But until MS has some compelling software then yeah. 2020 has been such a shit year, I just want something to look forward to.

All those moves still never gave it a studio release game.

My posts in these hot take threads are probably all the same but I like hearing how many people disagree (or maybe even agree!) with me

max payne 3 a shit
Saints Row, Sleeping Dogs, and Watch Dogs are all far better than GTA.
Ground Zeroes is better than The Phantom Pain, MGS going open world was the worst thing it ever did. Those open world maps sucked.
Dragon Age was written by a middle schooler.
Far Cry 4 bad, Far Cry Primal very good.
Borderlands is best when you mute the dialogue.
Payday: The Heist has far better gunplay than Payday 2.
Dead Space 3 may deviate from the horror genre, but it's one of my favorite action adventure games.

Physical games, especially on console, aren't exactly a good alternative for game preservation.
Anyone who believes they are just didn't thought properly about it.
Although i understand liking them from a perspective of collecting and resale

This pursue of realism for sake of immersion going hold gaming back.

My idea of immersion has nothing to with realistic graphics, VR or simulation gameplay, for me it’s all about getting in to the so much to the point that you forget you are holding a controller and that point I’m completely immersed to the fame even if it has over the top and unrealistic world.

I think VR helps a lot with that actually.

MS has made some fantastic moves but some of them have actually given people reason to not buy a Xbox. As for Sony, it isn't about the success of the PS4. It is about the success of each generation that they have been in the console business. They have a proven track record that expands generations for delivering diverse and unique software experiences. Same thing can be said for Nintendo.

My controversy. I guess I will touch on the OP's topic. I don't like the first Halo. I loved the soundtrack but I have never beat the game because I have never been able to really get into it. I have started it probably 25 times and end up moving on to something else.

I am going to change my controversial opinion to something else. I like exclusives. I like having titles that make a console feel special and differentiate it from the others. I don't care if it is a paid exclusive or a studio exclusive. That simply doesn't matter to me.

I find open world games like Red dead and GTA boring as fuck.

Unless its an RPG like Fallout, Skyrim and Witcher.

So... you just dislike the Rockstar formula?

If you think of them as RPGs, they're more interesting fwiw.

Not just Rockstar. Even Assassin creed, Saints row and Watchdogs are boring.

Haven't played RDR2 so don't have an opinion.

Honestly don't know the exact reason why I find them boring.

Maybe just a case of me being an RPG fan.

A traditional levelling up system would change my opinion. Being rewarded for exploring and completing side missions etc.

Otherwise what's the point.
