Finally got to my cart and as I'm checking out get OOS. Yeah I'm done trying I'll just wait until they're in stores
I mean there are two more tries on Walmart today. Only takes about 5 minutes each time to see if you can get lucky.
Then the page stops responding until all the bots get them all. This was the worst way to do this for the consumer.

Now they're just fking trolling us....they probably put some out right at 3 knowing Walmart was doing theirs and while we all waited 6 hrs for the walmart site to quit loading and finally crash, all the bots snagged the ones at the sony direct site. This is beyond disappointing

Well i kept refreshing and eventually it says out of stock again and "Check back on 11/13 for more availability" so theyre done for today. What a fking joke this whole thing is.

The second Walmart go was even worse for me than the first. The first time I got it in my cart and everything. Clicked checkout and it crashed. Did it all in like 10-15 seconds at drop time on the dot, still wasn't good enough lol.
I had the Sony page up all day, so when I saw Wario post about it I refreshed and had an hour wait, lol. Someone on Twitter said they left the page up all morning and refreshed and were at the beginning of the line, not sure how or why. They recommended I keep it up, which I did, but there was an error and HTML spill, so I think they might be purging the queues now or something.

I just don't understand how I can be on the walmart site clicking on check out within 1 second of the stock going back up, have the entire site crash, and then when everything is running again it just says out of stock.
How do all of them get bought if the site is completely crashed for everyone? At this point I have 4 tabs open with my cart in each one so that I can keep trying multiple times on each one before they time out.

Got the furthest yet so far at the 6:00pm Walmart clusterfuck. Got all the way to the end past entering my card info and to where the 'Place Order' button came up. Thought i was in the clear. Hit the button, spin, spin, spin, site crashed. When it came back up i was back at the same page with it being out of stock again.
This is heartbreaking....im done. Three times fucked by walmart today, twice by bestbuy this morning. These retailers need to get their shit together. There is absolutely ZERO excuse for these fucking problems in the year 2020. I think im done trying until after the new year. I don't have the patience for this fucking nonsense.

Playstation.com -> shop systems and bundles -> Shop [PS5] -> Out of Stock.
I got one on amazon in the middle of the last walmart drop, totally random.

It seems like they're trying to do it without announcing when the bots are all pointed at walmart to maybe help normal consumers grab one?

Yeah, this is insane. Again, within just a few seconds from when they dropped I was checking out on both Walmart and Amazon. Both crashed at check out.
All of this is helping scalpers, and only scalpers

I woke up at the exact magical time Best Buy had them, got it in my cart, typed in security code, all the way to the payment processing screen… where it crashed.

Last night I was up until 5 AM with no luck, today I'm an owner of a Digital Edition and the Costco Bundle. I have ascended to become a SCALPER.
Honestly, I was desperate for any kind of PS5/DE/Bundles and happen to snatch the Costco Bundle. But I really wanted a Digital Edition since I've been Digital for over a decade now. So I left my tab from the PlayStation Direct queue open and got lucky today to snag that DE.

Having actual stock in stores that you can physically go and grab is much easier to beat scalpers for than online inventory.
That said, you are correct. I remember I didn't get my first PS4 until March of 2014, and even then I got it used for $375.
