Sony is removing Cyberpunk from PlayStation Store

cyberpunk is not doing anything ground breaking either. that is part of the reason why the game has underwhelming reviews and mixed reactions. .

because it simply didn't live up to the hype for people.

you can keep playing and enjoying it, that is fine i am glad you're doing that, but the general consensus is that it's not the masterpiece people hoped!

it does a couple of groundbraking things. the way dialogue and interactions with characters works is one of them. side quests are another one. the city is groundbreaking too. not the random npc ai though. lol

Sony can't refund unless the game is "faulty". If they refund ( which CDPR promised) then they can't keep selling "faulty" game on their store. Keeping it on PS store is just going to invite lawsuits.

So stop with why XYZ game is not delisted. XYZ game publisher didn't promise refund. CDPR did. Also no XYZ game runs like Cyberpunk does.

Mostly the game will be back post December 21 patch with rider saying the game might not play well and there will be no refund post purchase.

Game runs fine enough on PS5 for me but have had a lot of hard crashes. I'm about 30ish hours in and the game has crashed between 15-20 times. Usually happens when I'm approaching a mission marker.

Sucks that base PS4 was released in the state it is. If they didn't make that last delay to December, myself and thousands of others would have been playing that shitty base version too so it could've been worse I guess

This is insane. I have been saying for like the past year that I'd be waiting until the game was 12+ months old before I bought it. I knew it would release unfinished and without any real next-gen support, but I had no idea it would be this bad.

They really screwed this up and tarnished their reputation a bit.

well that would cause people to die, so quite the difference.
Fair enough. Try this:

Ford's new SVU runs very well on perfectly mild days (about 70 F) but on colder days the engine halts and on hotter days the engine overheats. Also, they hid this information from reviewers.

and once again, we're talking about a video game where your textures load slow sometimes...

this is an artistic creation/hobby, so its more like a Scorsese movie freezing 8 times, and because f that saying it's as good as that b level crime show on abc, because the show runs perfectly.

when artistically any director would still be able to tell the scorsese film is better
The rest of this is 'it's just a video game so it's not important' nonsense.

lol, this game will sell oodles on ps5 when its fixed and rereleased. Don't be so sour. Its a game.

Don't be sour about what? Look at my avatar, I already own the damn game on PS5 and don't plan on refunding it. Doesn't change the fact that CDPR clearly bullshitted up the wrong tree.

Is the game less buggy on Xbox One, or is MS's tolerance for buggy games a bit higher?

I don't think this is about "bugs" so much as it doesn't really run on 7 year old consoles with Jaguar CPUs. Bugs are easier to put in headlines than explaining what's really going on.

Lmao the people here defending Sony and hating on CDPR are overreacting about every single thing and completely distorting the facts to enforce their point.

Like the game is buggy but holy shit, ya'll acting like you recieved a blank disc and a note that says "Fuck you"

The game works. I can do quests and I can progress through the game. I can upgrade skills and shoot enemies. Doesn't matter if it is not perfect. Doesn't matter if the physics aren't perfect or better than GTA V's. Doesn't matter if it crashes, it can be fixed. Complaining this much about your video game crashing or experiencing bugs is probably one of the most entitled attitudes I've ever seen.

Males are truely doomed if this is their main priority :/

I guess somebody can update the OP with the CDPR comments.

"The Management Board of CD PROJEKT S.A. with a registered office in Warsaw (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") hereby publicly discloses the decision of Sony Interactive Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as "SIE") to remove Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation Store until further notice. The decision was undertaken following our discussion with SIE regarding a full refund for all gamers who had purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store and want a refund at this time. All copies of the game previously purchased digitally on PlayStation Store remain available for use by their respective buyers.

Gamers can still buy physical versions of the game in retail and mail order stores. All copies, whether digital or physical, will continue to receive support and updates from the Company.

The Management Board of the Company has decided to publicly disclose this information in the form of a current report due to its potential influence on investment-related decisions. "

wait so I get a refund on a broken game and get to keep it? This is as great as Dying Lights Season Pass!!!

So, the refund will be done even if I want to keep the game as it is? I do not mind getting the refund, I wonder if I have to do anything at all. Or it will just work itselft out.

It is the way they do it with such fluidity. There is nothing like it.

That's nothing new or groundbreaking.

i'm not talking about the way you can change the outcome. i'm talking about how seamless conversations are. how the characters move and keep doing their thing while talking to you instead of standing still like zombies. how you can move too and then come back and response. the dialogue just pops up you don't have to press f or anything. the animation work is extremely detailed especially for an open world game with so many quests. every other game goes back to the same crap and it will be outdated

It hard crashes or freezes my console every play through and caused my PS5 to have to rebuild the database on one occasion. I can't play more than fifteen minutes without a crash and honestly if it were like New Vegas at launch I could deal with it, but it's pretty much a legit issue for a lot of people. I wish I had your experience but I don't...

Here we go... some Xbox folk already pre-emptively capping for XBox refund system when questions arise as to whether Phill will have the balls (at least as a follower, not leader) to delist Cyberpunk too. Cause you know, Jim just made a power move for the fake pro-consumer crown of fake Philly Bill. They do this knowing full well some folks have been denied refunds on Xbox for this game - and that the game runs like trash on Xbox too.

Disgusting.

it's time for cdpr to close it's doors. fire everyone. the dream is dead. the cinderella story of a polish developer whose founders were born poor in communist poland was nice but now it's over. america and arasaka can't let a piss poor eastern europe country claim the gaming crown. this smear campaign is unprecedented and they are using media and gamers like sheep.
welcome to the new age of gaming everyone bend the knee to the outrage cancel culture. goodbye to the polish gaming industry.

That's some god tier smear campaign.

They infiltrated the studio, even the higher ups and made BS comments about the game running surprisingly well on consoles. Then they erased all pre release console footage CDPR so desperately wanted to show people, and burnt all those console review copies forcing the studio to send everyone only a PC one.

The evil USA studios even sent people to boycott development and added some secret last minute code that turned the game into a blurry, 720p (or less), bug infested game running consistently (almost exclusively really) under 30fps with fights dropping to less than 20fps and horrible LOD issues often leaving you with early PS1 era NPC's until it actually loads correctly... All behind the backs of the poor CDPR folks who were convinced they were launching a much better and more playable version of the game.

To all the impatient crybabies who were saying FUCK SONY! How about letting them make a decision on how to deal with CDPR mess before throwing them under the bus?

What CDPR did is unprecedented (offering refunds to all) you have to give third-parties some time to adjust. Relax.

XBox version runs better. Still has issue but better. Also better refund policy.

So glad I waited .... what a mess.

Well at least some people got a free game out of this .... :messenger_grinning_smiling:

How is this a free game if they return it at the end of the day?

On PS5 the game runs fine at mostly 60 fps and I have a blast playing it. Sure, the open world is lacking (it's lacking on PC too by the way) and there are multiple bugs, but the story and characters are great. It looks good too.

There's no reason I would ask for a refund and it doesn't make sense refusing to sell it on PS5 (at least digitally on the store), unless you're unable to differentiate with PS4 buyers.

Good move on Sony's part. I've had minimal problems on PC but this thing is a dumpster fire on last gen. Honestly, they should've focused on getting PC out the door and focused on consoles afterwards. I feel they put too many eggs in too many baskets.

Hmmmm thinking better about this all... Could this have something to do with MS marketing deal which makes Xbox version just miles ahead of PS version?

If that's it, forget about MS following and wait for them to negotiate with Sony the terms, it's probably gonna be back in around 6 months or so when the deal ends.

So at this very moment, we can consider CP2077 a Xbox time console exclusive LMAOOO

Wow that's pretty nuts. I'm sorry to hear that people didn't get to experience the game in its best form. It really shines then.

XBox version runs better.

If you mean the base Xbox One version, this is by far the worst version (see DF comparison video) even compared to PS4 base version, which makes sense since Xbox One is obviously the weaker console.

It regularly drops in the 10s fps, it's basically unplayable on base Xbox One and should be refunded.

People on here forget millions upon millions of people are still on last gen.

The series X version is the best console version.

The Xbox one version is absolute shit just like the PS4 one

This is correct. Sony will only refund faulty games. If they are refunding this they are admitting it's faulty and thus won't sell it.

This is to protect their current refund policy not some major pro consumer move.

At the end of the day a business is out for it's own interests but some of them are smart enough to know that consumer trust is good for business.

Yet they want to sell PS5s in this very important moment in the console life span and CDPR just made the competition look much better with the most spoken and (arguable) popular game of the moment... These things matter a lot for these companies even if we don't care. Probably it will be up again soon with a parity patch before the next-gen patch comes out.

?

It says if you WANT a refund you can ask for it on the link. They are not refunding everyone. The digital copies still work if you want to keep it.

That's how I read it. Pretty straightforward.

Actually I was quoting the statement from CDPR but the statement from Sony reads like they are refunding everyone. If Sony refunds then they will delete your licence too.
