Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is in production

Hmm... So, Hiroyuki Imaishi won't be directing this one; instead it's a directorial debut of Kai Ikarashi - which is good, since Kai is exceptionally skilled, but the caveat is that Season 2 might end up lacking that special Imaishi energy and style, unless Imaishi would supervise it all very thoroughly. "Cautious optimism" is probably the best way to describe what I'm feeling about this announcement.

I don't think he's trying to be (at least I hope not). There are genuinely times where another language dub can save a show from being too cringe or annoying, especially if certain VOs go overboard and over act.

A classic example:

vs the dub

I remember this sub driving a lot of sub viewers either away from the show or towards the dub of it. The dub actor did do some screaming scenes for the character in the video, but it wasn't nearly as bad as how it sounds in the first video which is extremely over the top.

Man! Black clover is amazing stuff. But that first episode also almost turned me away. Which dork dufus retard thought it was a good idea to start with mada MADAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

I'm glad I powered through it.

Fascinating to see the CDPR logo in the trailer.

Are they attached to this Netflix show in some form?

I hope Mike Pondsmith is getting credit and some royalties for all this cyberpunk lore & media expansion.

Also hope they announce a sequel to the game too.

Story for first season was done by them. Trigger added Rebecca for example.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners
Story by Bartosz Sztybor, Jan Bartkowicz, Łukasz Ludkowski
Directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi
Creative director Hiromi Wakabayashi

fuck yes! i thought edge runners was a much better story than cp77

For sure.

The ludonarrative dissonance in the game is ridiculous and probably the worst I've ever experienced.

I absolutely love Cyberpunk 2077 but the story was terrible. Phantom Liberty was excellent though.

Heavy spoilers for the first season

Such a cool universe, man

Sometimes I boot the game just to stay in Night City for a while. Interactivity is limited, and yet it has so much personality.

Will be a huge task to top Night City in the sequel (I've heard they are changing the location for the sequel)

I warmed up to the story later on, doing all the JS parts, drug binge night out etc. A lot of the best quests are right before the point of no return.

Yeah I sometimes boot up the game just to drive around aimlessly. It's easily the most dense, most believable city I've ever seen in a game. It's incredibly well made.

Drive to my Corpo Plaza apartment, take a shower, sit at the bar and drink a scotch, smoke a cigarette, and back to the streets.

The immersion in this game is S+ tier.
