Sony is removing Cyberpunk from PlayStation Store

Good move on Sony's part. I've had minimal problems on PC but this thing is a dumpster fire on last gen. Honestly, they should've focused on getting PC out the door and focused on consoles afterwards. I feel they put too many eggs in too many baskets.

They really should. The latest delay was even catered to the console version and they said the PC version were already done by then.

Should have released only the PC version today, and release the console version in 2022 or something.

Fair enough. Try this:

Ford's new SVU runs very well on perfectly mild days (about 70 F) but on colder days the engine halts and on hotter days the engine overheats. Also, they hid this information from reviewers.

The rest of this is 'it's just a video game so it's not important' nonsense.

no I think the film analogy is a far more accurate level of comparison....and you know that lol

because a good car is a good car on the sole basis that it runs well. the nuance isn't necessary, it's just extra

whereas what makes one game better than another is primarily based upon the nuances of one vs the other. If games were primarily viewed by performance and not nuance then nintendo games and DOOM would've been goty.

this is art we're talking about, where nuance is king. so no, that's wrong. im sorry.

They already have a good refund policy in place.

Also, they have a marketing deal and custom consoles made.

Slightly better. Most people who ran into game breaking bugs likely ran into them after playing over 2 hrs, isn't that the minimum you have to played in order to request one? And isn't it handled on a case by case basis? I don't think you can just pull up the refund option and request it and the system handles that for you.

Lol the outrage. They took it down until "further notice"

Probably because of the announced refund situation. Going to take it down until its fixed, patched so it doesn't become a bigger nightmare than it already is. It will be back up.

Makes one wonder if CDPR was involved in this decision. Anthem was literally bricking consoles upon release and at no point was its removal from PSN ever considered.

*Checks their investor portal*

Oh, there it is - they were involved:

Good thing they removed it. Hopefully everyone will get their refunds and CDPR can focus on the next gen patch. Just pretend the PS4 version never existed.

So we'll agree to disagree but surely the whole mess with hiding things from reviewers is where we agree? I mean they purposely made things so much worse.

Takes a shitty person to get that much game out of it and take advantage of the situation and get a refund. But you do you....if you got to the last mission, you got your money's worth out of the game. Asking for a refund at that point is just scummy...but if you feel that is what you need to do go for it.
It's free real estate, the amount of system crashes with this game I'm getting on PS5 seem to have gotten worse the further I got and I wanna experience the other endings, potential DLC and side content I've got left to do with that juicy next gen patch.

It's a shitty move sure, but a move I make with no regrets! Refund submitted baby 😎

it's time for cdpr to close it's doors. fire everyone. the dream is dead. the cinderella story of a polish developer whose founders were born poor in communist poland was nice but now it's over. america and arasaka can't let a piss poor eastern europe country claim the gaming crown. this smear campaign is unprecedented and they are using media and gamers like sheep.
welcome to the new age of gaming everyone bend the knee to the outrage cancel culture. goodbye to the polish gaming industry.
This is definitely political I think.

Kinda convienient that this game was attacked up to its release for refusing to take the bait from the crazies on Twitter and now that it is out and controversial, they have a legit excuse to not support the game or its developers and have it actually stick.

Plus those crazies on Twitter have such loud voices and these corporations bend ass backwards to their demands and every whim to save face. I would really not be surprised if one of those purple haired Twitter goblins helped pull the right strings to get this authorized and approved.
I genuinely believe this is what's happening.

I don't see this as any different from Apple or Google removing apps from from their relative marketplaces. It will probably only return when they release the next generation versions. Which begs the question, really, why weren't those released along with the pc version to begin with?

You know what would be ironic? CD Project Red tanks their stock, Sony buys them up and all of the haters rejoice saying they are suddenly good again and begin defending Cyberpunk. That would be hilarious just to watch the people who love to complain suddenly defend their flip.

It's a great game, it just released too early. They need to make it next-generation only. It's not bad, it just isn't finished.

CDPR telling users to bombard Sony with refund requests kind of forced their hand. That's what this is about more than anything else.

Sucks for anyone who wanted it on their PS5 digital edition, though.

CDPR really made a mess for themselves. They're gonna have to change their whole roadmap and re-launch the game with a big update like FFXIV or No Man's Sky, probably push back the DLC and multi.

If Sony owned them then their games would be released in a working state. Sony games are polished if nothing else.

. . .which Wii game would that be?
Ok, I was exagerating

In terms of resolution, its between Wii and a Xbox 360/ PS3 game

600p, so more than 480p and less than 720p

But the use of TAA really fucks the image further, so it looks even lower than that

Not kidding. In the DF video they change to GTA V footage on the PS3 to compare FPS, and the image looks sharper

In many places it's illegal to sell goods that are demonstrably not fit for their intended purpose. That would have been part of the discussion too.

well yeah, that was stupid. it just gave people a reason to do what they are doing now, and the internet is hungry for making a meme of everything so they will make it 2x as bad as it really is.

it just makes me sad, bc now it turned from being buggy game, to fuck this game, to this game is bad bc fuck this game, to fuck cdpr.

which I don't think is right, because I think this is very fine game for one; and one of the saddest things i've seen happen to a great game in a long time. also, i think alot of people thinking this was going to be GTA is a problem.

I favor stricter, yet more consistent, certification requirements. How did CDPR sneak these issues past Sony to get the game on PSN?

This "certification" shit again. Sony or MS never saw the code that was released to customers. Support and patches is an on-going process for developers/publishers until release(CDPR). Not Sony, not Steam, not MS, not Google, not Apple.

Certification happened months ago and it has nothing to do with gameplay bugs. Please stop repeating that nonsense.

Sony have been too nice to too many devs for too long.

CD in bed with MS getting paid a fortune for the marketing rights. I'm sure MS won't have the balls to follow suit but they should have stayed in their lane.

Released a disaster of a game then try redirect some stick Sony's way.

Which is soooooo dumb because this is supposed to be a single player game

Would be great to see MS follow suit to put even more heat under CDPR's ass

Doubt that it would happen, despite Phil being the "consumer friendly nice guy"

But oh boy, that would be something else

And the award for the biggest shill goes too

yeesh

"And some people want to pay to see the mess"

Oh yeah. Pay $60 to see the person's Xbox One running it at 10 FPS, juust to make sure that it sucks

What's crazy is that like, the game drips production value, the size and scope of it, the amount of content, the jaw dropping setpieces... It's like they didn't start rushing it until they got 90% done and then they just switched to crunch mode and tried to get it to where it could pass cert. It's so close to done, like could have used a couple months on PC maybe 3-4 on console.

This is the shame of it. With some polish it could be a great game.

The whole Cyberpunk endeavor reeks of amateurism. Crunch times, devs asked to QA at home in their free time, delay after delay, strong social network presence, hiding console version, pleading guilty...

Say whatever you wish, but the likes of Ubisoft are at another level. They look ultra professional in comparison.

What is this about?

Basically, publicly tweeted that they were taking refunds without checking with Sony first. Then, when they were denied (as has been Sony's policy for digital downloads since the days of PS3), it makes Sony look like jackasses/liars.

CDPR isn't the responsible party for giving refunds.

Then those companies need to change their procedures. The code released to customers is what end users will actually experience, and what should be certified.

I noticed yesterday that all mention of the game was gone from the front page but I didn't think they would straight up pull the game. Crazy stuff.

that would be because they are a MASSIVE company with decades of experience dedicated to make the same games every year. it's easy to polish things and have a good workflow when most of the things you do are already done and you don't take risks. they have a lot of experience launching games. it's not easy.

CDPR is nothing like that. they are basically an indie company that grew a lot in very little time because they made 3 great games and one of them became a universal hit. they clearly grew more than they could manage.

everybody here is repeating like a parrot that the game had 8 years of development (it didnt) well in 2012 when this game was announced think about what cdpr was. they had just released the witcher 2 the year before. a team of just 100 people. at that time ubisoft had like 8000+. people seem to think the massive AAA cdpr of 2020 developed cyberpunk for 8 years with a thousand people...

Did Sony forget they have an all digital ps 5 console? Sucks for them choice is always better! MS don't be stupid and follow suit!
