Squirrel having a disturbing snack

i've heard stories about squirrels ...

rare earth creatures, flying blind amidst the wake of time

legends on the battlefield, splinter cells

I was attacked by like 20 squirrels when I was a kid

true story

Was that when you visited Willy Wonka's chocolate factory?
I was visiting buckingham palace (srs)

there was some park near it that had like 10,000 squirrels and a gang of them attacked me

At least it's a mammal eating another mammal.

You know what's more disturbing? Shits like Tarantulas, Centipedes and Praying Mantises eating mice alive.

It must suck being such a small sized mammal.

Yet they have no sense to keep moving when crossing the road. It's like don't stop you moron! Just keep running and don't look back!

Well, mice eat worms and bugs alive. It's a dog eat dog world.

Yeah but bugs are, dunno how to say it, lesser forms of life. Mammals feel more stuff, have more advanced brains, they feel pain since they are hot blooded, etc. Bugs are like moving plants. They don't feel. They are primitive and scary.

well, for one, they have able hands with good grip and yet are not exactly using them to build tools to help them getting food more easily, securing against rivals, getting safer against predators etc

like all other primitive creatures, it's all about survival instincts. No doubt they (and dogs, crows, elephants and obviously apes) have memory and problem-solving skills for immediate problems. But the main issue is that they don't seem to reflect upon their actions, they don't ask questions, either to themselves or their peers. Their behavior is repetitive and reaction-based and although much of human behavior is likewise, humans do think over their steps and missteps and improve upon it - humans can forgive, pity, help others and make ever better tools to face ever new problems. Why are there no animal cities? Why live just to hunt or be hunted? Why no plans about the future? Why no whys?

there's only the now for ever hungry creatures incapable of waking up and realizing they can do better by communicating and to do so they need to speak their minds and ask for other thoughts...

But that could also mean they are just evil as hell psychosociopaths.
