The filing names former senior creative director of World of Warcraft Alex Afrasiabi, saying that, "Afrasiabi was so known to engage in harassment of females that his suite was nicknamed the 'Crosby [sic] Suite' after alleged rapist Bill Crosby [sic]."

Afrasiabi quietly left Blizzard in mid-2020, but his work remains visible in World of Warcraft where multiple characters and items are named after him and characters he played in EverQuest. Most prominently, there's a questgiver in Stormwind City named Field Marshal Afrasiabi, and a quest called The Great Fras Siabi involving an NPC of the same name in Stratholme. There are also references to his characters Kariel and Foror spread over various items and lore entries.

And of course, in the next few months they will totally overcompensate and start to change character models like for example the one of Valeera Sanguinar to lead the efforts on an "inclusive" player experience.

The vultures are already circling around Blizzard to swoop in, to change even more and they will change things, a lot of things.

My virtue signal meter is off the charts with this whole Blizzard thing.

If someone is convicted of rape or whatever, just change the name. But of course some blue haired chick that works for Blizzard has to make a big statement before doing it.

I mean, I saw a post from some Blizzard dude, forgot what it was about but it was extremely whiny. So I clicked on his tweeter profile, of course he looked like a pussy and he had his gender in his bio. It explains a lot why Blizzard games to shit these last years, they have people employed with completely the wrong priorities.

Wow killed blizzard. They where one of the greatest pc studios in the 90s.

lost vikings, blackthorne, warcraft 1-2, star craft. So good.

But now. Fucking all of their games are ugly as sin. Ugly cartoony trash.

Sorry, our culture is shit. So we'll change some text/assets in one of our now floundering games? How very considerate of them. All these carefully curated apologies and low effort 'fixes' corporations are doing these days is so tiresome.

Is this what happens to a multi billion dollar corporation when you hire people who don't know what pussy smells like yet?

What utter tatters they have left put themselves in and pretty much embarrassing the whole industry.

It's probably industry wide. Gaming attracts extra pathetic and deranged people in general.

So thats what you gathered from current events. Youre blaming the game quality on "blue haired" people, not the huge accusation of having the worst working conditions.

The lawsuit isn't even done yet, so 'worst working conditions' is jumping to conclusions. I do see insane amounts of virtue signalling, diversity talk and twitter profiles of Blizzard employees with genders in them. So I'm leaning to that yes.

The problem with this kind of shit is the virtue signalling.

Changing a couple of NPC names that aren't even among the important ones, is such a minor thing that normally would never need to be announced. But because they have to virtue signal, they do announce it as if it's some kind of big event that everyone should know.

They don't care about the guy who gets accused or the women. They only care about making sure everyone knows they care.

The game and company are completely sunk. Doesn't matter what they do at this point. In this climate, after all their virtue-signalling and pompousness, they've made themselves completely radioactive.

Good! This was deeply upsetting to me on a personal level. Some of the other names remind me of people who have mistreated me or looked at me funny in the past, they should remove all names from the game and replace them with numbers.

You'd think that's a good idea, but then you come across 117013.

haven't touched their games in a while so fuck it they are all uninstalled and battle.net is gone. wish i could say i am excited for Overwatch 2 + Diablo 4 but i don't even care anymore.

Yes, as this guy is known for his behaviour with the female employees... I can guess what behaviour this is by the reference to Cosby.
So it's just a play words for on Cosby? Why not name it the Bill Cosby suite? I figured there must be something to using Crosby instead that I wasn't getting.

Oh fuck off Blizzard! A women died because of your company! This fixes nothing!
So glad I stopped supporting you after Diablo 3 released. You are a shell of your former self.

It was called the Cosby suite, they just got the name wrong in the legal document, for whatever reason. They literally had a portrait of him in the room.

I will protest. I do not like math and numbers give me anxiety.

Seems like the kind of thing that would have been ok if they just did it.
But making a big announcement out of it seems silly

Yup, that's Afrasiabi right there in the middle. Most of the other people are current or former WoW lead devs and designers, including the game's current lead designer Cory Stockton and Jesse McCree, namesake of the Overwatch hero and currently in charge of Diablo 4.

It would be hilarious if they ended up renaming the Overwatch character because of this.

Wow.

So these are the idiots that have been in charge of making decisions on WoW's direction?

No wonder it ended up in the state it is.

Wow, holy crap that's really really frikkin' dumb.
These are the people wanting to educate their customers and telling their most loyal fans like Asmongold to be less toxic?

I'm confused. That post is from November 2013 but the Cosby allegations didn't happen until late 2014 after the Hannibal Buress bit from October 2014. I know there were rumblings before that but Cosby was still very much a respected public figure at that point.
